  1. In my quest to find the pre-game media notes that MassHaas posts, I uncovered the Mudcat Media Guide. Some very familiar alumni on the cover: https://milb.bamcontent.com/documents/2/8/4/305615284/2019_Carolina_Mudcats_Media_Guide.pdf
  2. Local story on Korry Howell who is off to a scorching start for the T-Rats this season: Former Kirkwood baseball player Korry Howell off to great start to minor league season for Wisconsin
  3. Game 2 Box: Wisconsin 6, Cedar Rapids (Twins) 1 Rattlers Win Game Two 6-1 to Sweep Twinbill from Kernels Wisconsin pitchers carry a no-no into the sixth inning of the nightcap By Chris Mehring *** Wow, so close to a double no-no for the T-Rats. A broken-bat blooper was the best Cedar Rapids could muster after 16-1/3 innings without a hit (the Wisconsin pitching staff had held the Kernels hitless since the sixth inning of Friday night's game). The T-Rats have won four in a row.
  4. Box: Biloxi 8, Pensacola (Marlins) 3 Bennett and Turang Shine in 8-3 Shuckers Win Turang and Fry Each Hit Three-Run Bombs in Victory By Garrett Greene *** Former first-round pick Brice Turang had a heckuva night at the plate with a single, a double, and a home run. Brice now has a modest four game hitting streak raising his batting average from .227 to .263 in the process. LHP Nick Bennett was outstanding on the bump in his AA debut going 6 innings with 7Ks and 0 BBs. Video of Turang's round tripper (as an aside, I love the lighting in some of these minor league parks. It's like the cinematographer from The Natural consulted)
  5. Game 1 Box: Wisconsin 8, Cedar Rapids (Twins) 1 Rattlers beat Cedar Rapids 8-1 Freisis Adames and Taylor Floyd combined to hold the Cedar Rapids Kernels to no hits over the seven-inning first game of Saturday’s doubleheader By Chris Mehring *** A team no no for the T-rats in game one of their doubleheader! The Cedar Rapids Kernels (9-13) took advantage of two walks and some soft contact to score a run in the bottom of the fourth inning without a hit. The no-hitter was the first by the Timber Rattlers since May 4, 2012 when Chad Thompson and Mark Williams combined on a nine-inning no-hitter at Clinton.
  6. Box: Nashville 13, Columbus (Indians) 9 Green Homers Twice, 11th Straight Win for Sounds Zach Green has hit five home runs in his last five games Pre-Game Media Notes *** Ashby has struggled a bit this spring but maybe this outing with a season-high nine strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of work signals better things to come. Zach Green has 5 home runs and 10 RBI in his last five games. #FreeZachGreen
  7. The Carolina game has been postponed due to rain. Will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow.
  8. Herro has plenty of time to party now.
  9. Man Freddy is really good. Only thing I'm concerned about is how many innings he can go this season.
  10. I would think you'd beat 3% over a ten-year period in an index fund. I'd be shocked if you didn't.
  11. So in a 7 inning 1st game of a doubleheader, would CC be more likely to leave Peralta in for 5 + innings or less likely? Asking for a friend that has Peralta in fantasy. That friend is me.
  12. Oof. They'll miss him on D against the Nets
  13. They experimented with a bunch of different defenses this year. I'm assuming that was to find what works best but also put a lot more on film that teams have to prepare for.
  14. I know Herro is from Milwaukee and everything but I loved him being relegated to garbage time tonight
  15. "Leaders" and the media had to drive a wedge between people over quarantining or not last spring, then wearing masks or not, then getting the vaccine or not, so it only makes sense they had to find something else to make people hate each other over. Interesting my response to this post was removed, but this one stayed. Basically, I just agreed, yet mine was taken away. I didn't realize censoring posts was a thing here. The original post had something to do with Covid. Yours had nothing to do with Covid.
  16. Wait until this kid hits the Majors... 3rd gen to REALLY make you feel old https://www.mlb.com/news/prince-fielder-s-son-hits-home-run I joined Brewerfan the year Prince was drafted. Yikes!
  17. Just as an aside....vaccines are really amazing. Science is cool.
  18. Are you suggesting that Aaron Rodgers needs to work harder in the off season to be as good as Tom Brady in the playoffs?
  19. Ernesto is en fuego
  20. Honestly, if they trade Rodgers they might as well blow it all up and start over. Accumulate a bunch of early-round picks, take your lumps for a couple of years, and be good in 2024 or 2025.
