  1. I'm overly excited for the draft. That is all.
  2. This music video cracked me up as a kid. This remake is pretty remarkable especially when you watch the two side by side:
  3. Keep it clean, please.
  4. Unfortunately it's probably gonna take re-opening to show what a bad idea re-opening is.
  5. I support this
  6. It'd be helpful if you linked to the things you reference.
  7. https://evers.wi.gov/Documents/COVID19/EMO12-SaferAtHome.pdf I didn't read it word for word but I could not find anything. Maybe I missed it. This is from Aurora Health. You'd think they'd mention the Stay at Home order if that was indeed what drove this: In response to COVID-19, we’re limiting nonurgent outpatient appointments and certain elective surgeries/procedures for the health and safety of our patients and team members. If you have a nonurgent appointment or elective surgery/procedure scheduled on or before April 24, your physician will determine the best approach.
  8. Can someone explain how the stay at home order prevents hospitals from performing certain procedures or services? I'm pretty sure that's up to the hospitals.
  9. Definitely not, many Wisconsin small towns don't have a grocery store period. But EVERY Wisconsin small town has at least 3 Kwik Trips.... And a church and four bars
  10. I hadn't thought of that. That's money that could be tossed back into the economy quite easily I would imagine.
  11. That's an interesting idea. Back during the Spanish Flu, Chicago opened things up neighborhood by neighborhood. Of course that was before cars made it easier to move from Englewood to Lincoln Park. I wonder if every zip code has a decent grocery store?
  12. I'm a decade older than you, have been doing the same with IRA, 401K, and feel the same way. I'm terrified of outliving my retirement funds...I probably won't but it's why I live very frugally. I can't really make up lost ground when I'm 80 but I can while I am still able to work.
  13. Missed this when you posted it originally but this is a really good idea. I think people are hung up on the terms.
  14. civil liberties and highly infectious diseases make strange bedfellows
  15. What kind of person is golfing, installing a boat dock, having landscaping outsourced or doing all three? There's a reason some of these things get passes before other things. I think it's good to keep as many things running as possible, but to completely dismiss the nature of some of these decisions is just being naive. You can't just sit in your house or walk around the neighborhood. I think it's fine for people to go outside and get some fresh air. If you have to hire someone for landscaping I really don't see the downside.
  16. You can get a good look at a t-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.
  17. I would have been 100% sure that the awful flu I had from Jan 1-3 was Coronavirus except that patient zero in my area was confirmed to have come back from Wuhan on Jan 15. It was just a nasty flu this year. After the crap China has done regarding this why should we believe that it began January 15th either? They’ve lied and distorted from the get go. Restricting travel from Wuhan to the rest of China while letting worldwide travel from Wuhan is at best a very suspect action, at worst an act of war. Because we don't have to rely on China's word to prove it.
  18. I'm not saying it was here in 2019, but the odds of it being around undetected before "Patient Zero" in many states is pretty high. I would think patient zero would happen roughly the same time as the others were getting infected. I don't think there were only asymptomatics walking around for several weeks before someone was hospitalized. But it's possible I guess. Maybe they'll go back and test the flu samples in Georgia like they did in California.
  19. My friends in Georgia are sure they had it at thanksgiving. All the symptoms, knocked out for a week+. When able they’re going in to see if they have antibodies. Have more than a couple friends that were sick with the same thing in Nov/Dec. I don't think that's true. Not with the infection rate this thing carries. It would have blown up much sooner.
  20. Covid was not in California until February. I'm pretty confident Covid was not floating around in 2019 anywhere in the US.
  21. First confirmed case in Georgia was March 2. If you did have it you'd have been one of the very first cases in the state.
  22. You can potentially get tested for anti-bodies at some point.
  23. I'd put money on an effective treatment before a vaccine.
  24. Good luck with your surgery, RoCo.
  25. Pretty good comparison of Covid to other infectious diseases (SARS, MERS, Ebola, H1N1): https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-did-the-world-shut-down-for-covid-19-but-not-ebola-sars-or-swine-flu/
