  1. Who is at risk and how do you isolate them? Are people with pre-existing health issues (I.e. immuno compromised) supposed to volunteer as tribute?
  2. I am not trusting anyone's take on this unless they are a doctor that works in infectious disease....or Dr. Dre
  3. Well they are all in. Upgrade from Beer Chugger.
  4. With the existing picks they own, that would give them a lot of ammo to move up if they wanted to.
  5. Yeah I mean what's the other option? Let the virus run it's course?
  6. I don't think it's an overrection. I also think we can't go on this way for months or longer. We're talking about total collapse of our economy, unemployment at 20%...30% who knows. That just can't happen. Focus need to be on how to best insulate the at risk population as best we can, and the rest of us need to move forward. That would involve mass testing and we seem to be behind the curve on that.
  7. The line at the Wendy's drive through in my neighborhood is like 40 cars deep.
  8. Packers hired that guy that was a long time scout for the Ravens. Probably gave him a good grade.
  9. Sort of. It helps the business owner, but doesn't help the staff who make most of their income off of tips. Many restaurants who get 90+% of their sales from sit-down customers are going to close. The cost of staying open isn't worth the little take-out business they will get. Take out habits have already been established, and if they weren't already thought of as a take-out place they probably won't be now. Well right. It doesn't solve the whole problem but at least there is a better chance of a business being open at the end of this thing if people spend money in whatever way they can. And I think delivery and take out will probably spike short term. Enough to compensate the sit down revenue? Not for every restaurant obviously but could very well help others weather the storm.
  10. Yes, what happens to all these businesses that are being forced to shutdown? Their expenses don't go to zero, when their income drops to zero. A lot of businesses are going to be bankrupt long before the shutdowns end. Probably true. These are not easy decisions.
  11. Joe Schobert signs with the Jags. 5/53.75 million
  12. They banned fans and shortened the season. There's one dude who self isolated with symptoms and if he is positive they are going to re-think things. Edit: Guess he's all clear.
  13. Shouldn't matter now as the Bears just signed Quinn. 5/$70 million
  14. How about just increasing unemployment benefits? When I've collected unemployment benefits in the past, it was a fraction of my income. Increase the maximum payout. Then those who need it will get it. Ignorant question here....can you get unemployment as a part time employee?
  15. Hey guys, I split off the non Packer news into another thread. Let's keep this one about Packers (and ex Packers) and the other one about other teams. Seems like NFL is gonna be the only thing to talk about for a while so we might get some nice discussions going over here. Best to keep them organized.
  16. One thing we can do to help out restaurant industry is buy gift cards. They get the cash infusion now, then you turn them in later on after this is over. We plan on getting take out at least two or three times a week until this is over.
  17. This is not the flu. Stop comparing it to the flu.
  18. Are you getting the 12 people hospitalized from here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ Because they've been stuck on 12 for like 48 hours at least. I dont think that's accurate.
  19. For some reason, the Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals. Bill O gonna Bill O.
  20. I think he's the highest paid TE. No thanks at that price.
  21. Your guess is pretty much reflected in this expert's scenario. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/coronavirus-may-make-millions-of-americans-sick-but-we-only-have-about-100000-ventilators/ Article also goes into the problem we are potentially facing and why it's different. There are some people leaning way too hard into the US stats right now to gauge the seriousness. They are thought to be weeks behind reality and only painting a very small part of the picture. Even so, US cases are doubling every 2 - 3 days. Won't take long to get to a really big number.
  22. Packers fill needs at MLB and OT without giving up much and will get comp picks for the two guys they lost. Guessing they draft a tackle early.
  23. Packers signed former UW O-Lineman Rick Wagner RT. Looks like Bulaga is gone as most predicted.
  24. If there is anything positive to come of this it's that. We are going to face that someday and we need to be more prepared than we are now. This might be the wake up call needed to get our house in order for the day when a major killer disease comes knocking. I worry that all the social distancing will do what it's supposed to and next time people won't think they'll have to do it because "It was no big deal."
