  1. Fellow RUSH fan I presume? I have grown to really enjoy their music from a musical perspective lately. I was first interested in the late 80's when I found out the Wisconsin Marching Band had taken some of their drum line cadence from Neal Peart. As time has gone on, I have come to appreciate them as instrumental musicians. There are a lot of acts that fire up their Macbook Pros, slap together some riffs, turn on the autotuner, and make some tracks. This is a stark difference than these three guys. I did not know what Geddy Lee had taken his inspiration from Yes and Peart from the Who (and others). I liked Yes as a teen. I guess I'm influenced by the late 70's and early 80's... I just watched a documentary on Rush shot in 2010. All three of them are absolute virtuosos on their respective instruments (Geddy on two). Their first big tour was opening for Kiss. Geddy had nothing but good things to say about them. Gene Simmons made fun of them for not partying at all. One other interesting thing I learned is that they tried to record La Villa Strangiato all at once rather than split it up into parts. Took them 11 days and they finally gave up and recorded it as three separate tracks and then fused them together.
  2. I have never even taken a sip of the stuff... 54 years and doing fine without it. Same. 34 and have never tried it. The wife tries to get me every time she has a cup, but I just don't care for it. Soda on the other hand...yikes. That's where I get my caffeine. Did anyway. 9 days without a soda. How do you know you don't care for it if you've never tried it?
  3. I don't think there's any chance Yost gets as much out of the Brewers the last two years as Counsell did. Hader would never have pitched anything but the 9th inning.
  4. Agreed. If the Brewers had four Garrit Coles they wouldn't be trotting guys out there in the 5th or 6th inning to replace them.
  5. I had brunch at a Kurdish place in Chicago and they had the most amazing coffee. I guess they roast the beans with pistachios so it ends up very nutty and kind of sweet.
  6. I have never even taken a sip of the stuff... 54 years and doing fine without it. Now booze on the other hand...
  7. Apparently Cruickshank entered the transfer portal. Huh?
  8. Dunkin Donuts must have the opposite policy
  9. Metcalf, Lockett, Wilson, and Pete Carroll are what im worried about. Quite frankly I’d have much rather any of the other 5 in the NFC except SF, and I don’t think they’re what they were last time we met. Hopefully I’m wrong about it and you have to beat em anyway to get where we want to go. In the Divisional round, basically every opponent is going to have a couple great to good players that can give their team a chance to win. This dangerous and worrisome Seahawks team couldn't put away an even more decimated Eagles squad who had a high school football coach playing QB most of the game yesterday. The Packers have it all in front of them with this game - they are the better team and should win at home Sunday night. If they don't we'll all be disappointed, and it will be because they didn't play well. That could obviously occur based on the Packers' body of work of occasionally getting trounced and oftentimes playing down to their opponents' level...but the Seahawks are the exact same way. I can see Russell Wilson rushing for like 90 yards and throwing three deep TDs to Lockett/Metcalf. Hopefully, they can contain him as I think they'll get a good pass rush.
  10. Yeah Passan is usually pretty solid. And I wouldn't confuse ESPN.com with the cable tv channel. The website still has some really good reporters (although The Athletic kills everyone in that regard).
  11. Jared had a bunch of concussions too. Best for him he retired when he did.
  12. Donald Hayes was pretty good for a couple years and then just fell off a cliff. Injuries maybe?
  13. Jones averaged 3.7 more carries (but 0.9 fewer yards per carry) and ~7 more rushing yards per game in 2019 than 2018. The only significant difference between 2019 and 2018 is that Jones missed 4.5 games in 2018, and that Jones was a bigger part of the passing game in 2019. The substance abuse suspension in 2018 (with the arrest happening during the season in 2017) probably didn't help to earn McCarthy's trust. 3.7 would be a significant number actually, but it's skewed by a bunch of things, it took time to figure out what kind of player he was, the suspension + the fact the team was trailing often. He has some 5-8 carry games early that skew it low. This idea that he chose not to give him the ball is a bit of hyperbole though. As I said earlier, his use in the run game has been identical for the bulk of the season from 18 to 19. He's right in the 13-17 carry range for most of both seasons. He has been much more involved in the passing game, but that's not really the same as a hand-off and guaranteed touch. The Packers are winning games and people are seeing what they want to see. Touches not carries. I have no idea what you are trying to say with your bolded sentence. Are you saying Jones is getting all dump offs? That they aren't designing plays to get him into space? Because that isn't true.
  14. McCarthy had Aaron Jones too and chose not to give him touches
  15. I'm of the opinion that the draft is kind of a crapshoot so the more rolls of the dice the better your odds of getting lucky. I'd be really surprised if they don't end up with 4 - 5 really good players out of all those picks.
  16. That's kind of a strawman if you are replying to my one tongue in cheek post.
  17. Miami has a boatload of picks in the next two drafts. Dolphins 2020 picks: – 2020 1st-round pick (MIA) – 2020 1st-round pick (HOU) – 2020 1st-round pick (PIT) – 2020 2nd-round pick (MIA) – 2020 2nd-round pick (NO) – 2020 3rd-round pick (MIA) – 2020 3rd-round pick (Comp – Ja’Wuan James) – 2020 5th-round pick (MIA) – 2020 5th-round pick (PIT) – 2020 5th-round pick (Comp – Cam Wake) – 2020 6th-round pick (MIA) – 2020 6th-round pick (DAL) – 2020 7th-round pick (MIA) – 2020 7th-round pick (KC) Dolphins 2021 draft picks: – 2021 1st-round pick (MIA) – 2021 1st-round pick (HOU) – 2021 2nd-round pick (MIA) – 2021 2nd-round pick (HOU) – 2021 3rd-round pick (MIA) – 2021 4th-round pick (MIA) – 2021 5th-round pick (MIA) – 2021 6th-round pick (PIT)
  18. Wonder if Jack's quality went south after Kraft sold them off to Nestle? I dunno. Tastes the same to me as it always has. Accept no substitutes. Also, someone mentioned Woodman's....the one in Kenosha has the biggest frozen pizza selection in the world. I don't know if this is really true but it wouldn't surprise me.
  19. Zeke Elliot dynasty owners won't be happy
  20. Cephus has really strong hands and gets separation. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
  21. Seattle's got some holes on defense. I think if GB can score 24+ they win.
  22. Discuss non Packer games here.
  23. Seattle does not have much of a run game. Gonna take a massive Wilson game to beat GB.
