At this point I think it's hard to say how much is Rodgers and how much are receivers. Yes he's obviously been off on some throws for sure but some where it looks like he's off I'm guessing the receivers are at the wrong depth or aren't making a sharp enough cut or whatever. Now some of that is probably bad coaching but some is just not knowing what Rodgers wants or what is normal for the NFL in certain situations which only comes with time.
I'm still sort of shocked at how the defense is playing given all the injuries. I had to look up three or four guys on the web just to see when/how they were acquired.
The guy is 32 and looks like he just finished a shift at Falk. Just screams injury risk to me. But like josephc said at the right price he's worth a look. I just fear some dumb team is going to sign him to a three year deal.
I don't know if I buy that the bullpen caused us to lose games more than normal use of a bullpen would have. You could counter that by saying had we left the starters in longer they would have gotten knocked around more often. I do agree that there will always be a place for guys that can throw 7+ innings. Problem is there aren't many of those guys that can be just as good in inning 7 as they are in inning 1.
Hasn't been legal very long. Just spitballing here but I wonder if some enterprising team has done research and determined that a pick below, say, #20 doesn't carry all that much extra value relative to pick #50 or #100 particularly when money is considered. In other words, does a guy who is simply a replacement level player in the majors carry more value than a pick below a certain number?
If you were going to do that you'd build it in Jersey. Yankee stadium is like 2.5 miles from Central Park. What they should have done is had the Mets move to Brooklyn in the first place.
Packers could easily beat the Bears. They did it week 1 and Rodgers was on one leg. At the end of the day, they still have Trubisky and we still have Aaron. If Aaron outplays Mitch I think GB wins.
The D-Backs stadium was built in like six weeks - well not really but it always felt really cheap for a retractable dome. Phoenix has more stadiums than it knows what to do with. I think the Suns want a new one too.
I think it's bad enough that QB's get special consideration in the open field just because they are QB's. Throwing a flag because they are a drop back passer and not a "running" QB just adds an additional layer of confusion.
Portland or Montreal would be great options. Montreal got a bad rap but that stadium was horrible. I actually think MLB would do well there given a new location.
"Troy Tulowitzki’s agent, Paul Cohen, tells me Tulowitzki would love to play in the Bay Area, is willing to change positions and would like to play for a winning team. Could be a real possibility for A’s at 2B at a mere $600,000." @susanslusser
I think it's totally worth a 1 year deal and presumably it would only take the MLB minimum. If he gets hurt you call up Hiura. This assumes he is willing and/or able to play 2nd base. I do think the Brewers can do better though.
Re: Wilson - he can be valuable in this offense simply because he's a tall dude that can shoot. All he has to do is wander around the three point arc and wait for kick outs.
Brogdon is such a great "glue guy". He is perfect in his role on this team but I wonder if he will want a contract above his skill level? Bledsoe is playing terrific on the ball defense this year. He seems to really be rejuvenated under Budenholzer. Mids has been in a slump but I think the benching and "off day" will light a mini fire under him. They really need a scorer like him at the end of quarters/halves. Lopez has been a revelation. And that contract he has is ridiculous for the value. So long story short in terms of importance (most to least) I'd go 1) Bledsoe simply because the backup options are junk 2) Lopez - see previous answer 3) Brogdon 4) Middleton
