  1. I think play calling has a lot to do with that. They call the slowest developing plays ever when the other team has their ears pinned back and is focused on rushing the passer. A quick slant? A draw? A designed roll out? A three step drop? Do those exist?
  2. HaHa isn’t an entire D. Compare him to Tramon Williams today...I will wait. It’s almost impossible to be worse than our safeties today. Ok you disagree. No reason to get all snarky about it.
  3. I think the D is about the same since they traded HaHa. Maybe even a little better.
  4. Punting on 4th and 2 was so dumb. McCarthy needs to go. Kinda glad they lost....tank the season and get rid of him and bring in a guy that can at least manage timeouts.
  5. Nailed it. Believe me that there were countless analysts who worked on this idea and concluded it not make sense. You are a stone's throw from the city. That hotel would be deserted any time there isn't a game, and the dining areas would get zero foot traffic during those times as well. Even game days are not a huge draw a lot of nights. I'm guessing the Brewers would also not be fans of losing precious dining dollars they get with the current captive audience situation they have going on. Closing it for part of the year doesn't bring expenses down to 0 either. If this were profitable, it would have been a long, long time ago. What analysts are you referring to? I don't recall this ever coming up before. TGI Fridays seems to make things work in the off season...or at least they make enough money during the season to stay open during the winter.
  6. I don't think the hotel has to be open year round. I also don't think it have to be very big - less than 100 rooms. It also doesn't have to be connected to Miller Park. It could be on the river next to the Henry Aaron Trail. This isn't like plopping a Hampton Inn in a parking lot. It would have to be baseball themed obviously with memorabilia in the rooms/lobby etc. There are plenty of baseball nuts from out of town teams that would rather stay there than a downtown hotel or the Best Western which is a 20 minute walk. I also don't think it will ever happen.
  7. I whiffed on Ford, I thought he was done for the year. Iverson can bring some things to the table too, forgot about him. As for Happ, the Bucks comparison still fits- he is Giannis. Doesn't have to shoot 3s, just do damage in the paint. Obviously in a much different way. I was thinking of Happ as more like a center but if the comparison to Giannis is only that neither shoots threes and both score almost at will inside then I get it.
  8. I think King isn't quite 100% confident in his knee, once that happens he'll be fine. He was arguably their best player on the pre-season road trip last year. And the Bucks comparison is a good one. The were really whipping the ball around the perimeter. Big difference being that Happ can't shoot threes unfortunately. Hopefully Ford comes back full strength. Heard he was doing some really good things in practice this fall. I will refrain from mentioning free throws until January
  9. Except for, you know, all the people also bringing facts.
  10. Packers have a tough schedule this year. I would love to see the Bears play a tough road game but they don't until Minnesota. They get the Rams, Patriots, and Seattle at home.
  11. I think I'd have a lot more confidence in Peralta's long term future if he threw in the mid 90's. I think he averaged like 91mph on his fastball. I just feel like the deception can only get you so far without being able to back it up with a bit more oomph. Do I want the Brewers to trade him? No, but if he were to be traded for a catcher or 2nd baseman or whatever I would be ok with it.
  12. And that's exactly what he did against the Bears when he knew his feet couldn't save him.
  13. The offensive line has absolutely been the biggest disappointment this year.
  14. Sort of. He only had 15 carries, and the Packers had a 18:34 rush to pass ratio. I was referring to the first drive. Most of the scripted plays we're specifically for Jones. Knew I should have posted that in the first place.
  15. Aaron Jones as focal point of the offense was refreshing.
  16. The stunning part of this is that the author (McDaniel) rates Hiura #22, Lutz #68 and Ray #89. Hiura's ranking looks fairly accurate. But IMO that ranking for Lutz is EXTREMELY high compared to what I would consider the "general opinion" and maybe Ray is a bit high as well...although placing Ray at the back end of the top 100 certainly isn't unreasonable. McDaniel is using Fangraphs Top 100: https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/?type=&pos=&team=all
  17. Soria makes big bucks because he has a ton of closer experience and gets saves. That's the way salaries typically work in MLB. The guys that ring up the stats get the money. Which means the guys who prove to be the best middle relievers aren't typically middle relievers for long before they are moved to the closer's role. Is that an antiquated mindset? maybe. But it is what it is. These guys care about team success, but they also care about personal stats. A piggybacking starter isn't going to rack up the wins and innings they will typically need to garner big money in both arbitration and free agency. Bullpen guys in general are making more money. Not just save guys. Rockies just gave Jake McGee $27 million over three years. The game is changing, hence, contracts will change with it.Don't think for a second that Hader won't command a ton of dough even if he's never primary closer.
  18. The Best Western Milwaukee-West is a 15 minute walk from the RF entrance to the stadium. You could do that already You guys are thinking about how YOU would do it. Plenty of people could walk 20 minutes (or take a free shuttle) and get free parking up near Bluemound but they would rather pay $20 and park close to the stadium even if they don't tailgate. There are people that don't want to walk 15 min to a hotel. . They want to walk 5 min and they don't want to stay at a Best Western. Give them a brew pub in the lobby and it's basically like the tailgate never ends. Not to mention the novelty of it.
  19. Portland couldn't miss....particularly from mid range. One of those games...
  20. That you don't have to take a shuttle? I don't think they would ever do it but I can see people wanting that experience and being willing to pay for it. Particularly if they sell package deals that include things like swag, stadium tours, seats, etc.
  21. I think a hotel in the parking lot would cater to people that would not want to drive home. And I'm also assuming there are at least 100 - 200 drivers per home game that would choose to do that. It might also be a neat place to stay for people coming in for a whole series. I think there are already plenty of people who come in from Wausau, Eau Claire, etc. that stay overnight in a hotel.
  22. Woman approached him at the airport and he just kept walking...then Matthews signed for her. Turns out he had signed for her previously
  23. Does Rodgers travel separately from the team to away games?
