  1. They almost had 12 guys in double figures.
  2. Howell is a year older than Turang for what it's worth.
  3. Bucks have as good a chance as anyone. Big game against Toronto tomorrow night.
  4. I expect the Bucks to do this in area outside the Forum. I think that's basically the purpose of that giant screen they have.
  5. Apparently the draft is going to be deep for tight ends. I expect GB to pick one up.
  6. Steamer, Zips, Bill James, PECOTA are all projection systems. Fangraphs does not do projections - they list other people's. They are all about the same in regards to their methodology with some minor differences. Like other projection systems, Steamer uses past performance and aging trends to develop a future projection for players. It also uses pitch-tracking data to help forecast pitchers. On Fangraphs, the projections are updated daily and predict each player's numbers over the course of the remainder of the season. Obviously, no one is claiming that every one of Steamer's predictions will come true, but it is widely regarded as one of the most accurate predictors in the industry. http://m.mlb.com/glossary/projection-systems/steamer
  7. Packers were really bad on 3rd down. I attribute some of that to play calling.
  8. Vegas odds are less reliable/accurate than projection systems from Fangraphs, 538, BR, etc. Vegas prices things to get equal action on both sides and adjusts odds to limit exposure, not necessarily project what is most likely to happen. I could go into the predictive nature of futures markets but I will not.
  9. Bucks have a much better bench too.
  10. yeah that's actually a better point. I believe their team projections are just totals rolled up from the player projections. Could be wrong though. FanGraphs Depth Chart projections are a combination of ZiPS and Steamer projections with playing time allocated by our staff.
  11. They have a projection system that even the writers know comes out with some odd looking results from time to time. Here is from the season review article that came out today: The larger point is that the Brewers don’t have much in the way of dead money and are awash in flexibility. I think they start off the season as underdogs to win the division, but they’re a team with realistic hopes to once again topple their wealthier rivals. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/elegy-for-18-milwaukee-brewers/
  12. How deep is this draft? Might even be worth (gasp!) trading out of the 1st round and stockpiling 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks.
  13. Machado loses some leverage in negotiations that's for sure.
  14. It's a 10 hour flight from Tokyo to Seattle, 14 hours to NYC and Houston, 13 hours to Chicago, and 12 hours to LA. Does a few hours really make any difference when you're talking flights that long? 10 hours to LA. Yes, that makes a difference if you have to do it 8, 9 times a year.
  15. Here is a list of all FA's for next year. I don't know enough about capology or franchise designations or whatever to know if all of these guys are truly FA's but it's a starting point. http://nfltraderumors.co/2019-nfl-free-agents-list/
  16. It may simply be that the flights to Tokyo are much shorter from the west coast than from anywhere else in the US. Easier for his family to get to games and back home. And I don't know what counts as "diverse" but Milwaukee is 36% white, 39% african american, 18% hispanic. Segregation is a different matter...for a different forum.
  17. The Jets are a terrible organization. GB will always be a better landing spot than there regardless of talent.
  18. Packers also interested in matt lafleur, Titans OC. He was under McVay for a year in LA I believe.
  19. No but he won 2 gold gloves as a SS and has the highest ever fielding percentage in mlb at that position. Is 2b all of a sudden a more difficult defensive position than SS? I'm guessing he would be considered an above average defensive 2b the first time he takes the field at that position...the fact he hasn't played innings there because he's been a SS shouldn't disqualify him from playing other positions well. I mean, the brewers put Shaw there often last year! Believe I read somewhere that he is willing to play 2B.
  20. I like Fitz as a candidate. Only question which was brought up in the JS the other day is assembling a staff. I don't think you take all your college guys with you and since he's always been a college coach he doesn't have many pro connections other than scouts that visit Northwestern.
  21. I finally went to a game at the new arena on Saturday. Really puts the BC to shame. Great, great place to watch basketball.
  22. I remember a young and spry Robb Edwards when he had a radio show in Milwaukee.
  23. They're too busy salivating over Vlad Jr.
  24. Every new generation has a negative connotation associated with it u til they are replaced by the next generation.
