I had forgotten about Jimmy. Hopefully he makes it back full strength next year. Nelson, Chacin, Andrerson, Peralta, Burnes, Davies, Miley, Guerra is a pretty good set of guys on which to base a rotation (other roster moves/trades/signings notwithstanding).

Wow, what a pitching performance by Chacin.

out of the south at about 5-10mph...not significant, but straight out to left center. Summer day approaching 90 with relatively low humidity and a helping wind is gonna make balls fly like crazy, regardless of the wind. Hopefully Chacin has a good slider today. MLB.com says wind is blowing in from center at 8 mph.

I'm guessing they gambled they could get him on a waiver deal and Oakland snuck up in front of them and took him. I'm not sure how much sneaking was involved. There were reports of multiple teams interested in Fiers before the deadline and the Brewers would have been 29th in line to get him on waivers. What was Oakland?

The Public Market is cool if you have a ton of people with different tastes. It's basically like a high end food court. Might be a good lunch spot before you go to the lakefront or something. -

I think if the bullpen had performed better the last few weeks there wouldn't be much talk about the deadline moves.

If by “finish”, you mean having 2 guys get hit by a pitch in an inning and another reach on a infield grounder, allowing one hard hit to score four runs, then yes, they know how to finish. This isn't the first time. Chalk it up to whatever you want to. Didn't Brewers just have a walk off a week ago? -
