  1. Sorry, but if someone is going to parse every word from a guy, after just crapping his pants in the biggest game he's ever pitched in when a twitter storm of level 5 is heading right between his eyes, and take issue with the EXACT word he used to apologize is beyond ridiculous... and not worth my time to read any more of his drivel... Yeah I have a hard time getting that granular with a guy who is not a polished speaker and was probably very uncomfortable saying everything perfectly in the moment.
  2. Every time hateful things are said about a group of people and it is brushed off with "It's okay, he's just a kid" is another time we are making it normal for this kind of speech to exist. "It was just locker room talk." "It's just video game banter." "It's just the internet, that doesn't matter." It's hate. It's demeaning groups of people. It is NOT okay. Edit: Travis Sarandos over at BrewCrew Ball said it better than I ever could. I think his point wasn't that it's alright to say it but that the intent behind it isn't actual hatred. Hopefully the training he goes through drives home the point that merely saying things for shock value even if you don't really mean what you say still has an impact.
  3. I think you hope he gets close to those nbers while trying to buy low based on his bad first half.
  4. I don't like his name.
  5. We wouldn’t even be discussing Machado if he hadn’t sold incredibly low on Segura and Scooter. Hard to say what the ripple effect might be on those moves....maybe they don't end up with Aguilar.
  6. If anything a great off season move is better than an in-season move because you get the value of a full season out of the guys you acquired.
  7. Weston Wilson is on a tear. He's got a 1.237 OPS for July and that doesn't include his dinger tonight.
  8. We have a GM who acquired two guys without whom the Brewers wouldn't even be sniffing the playoff race. Those were home run moves.
  9. thank God mlb has a brain. Unlike the nfl. What did the NFL do to Josh Allen?
  10. That's a pretty good comparison. I did some reading on his situation and here is what one columnist wanted: He should consider, on his own, doing a little community service or writing an essay for a national magazine — anything that can serve to show others that such behavior will not be tolerated or excused.
  11. I have a hard time saying what Josh Hader "is" based on this episode.
  12. I think a better question is if he should not get a free pass, then what should he get? What would be acceptable atonement?
  13. I agree. I think most real people do. Twitter isn't comprised of real people and it is the loudest when reading the news. The only thing is, if something else comes up that's more recent, he is cooked. And quite frankly, he should be in that instance. Speaking only for myself, I know for a fact you can do complete 180's on social issues between your late teens and mid 20's because I did.
  14. If you can't leave your politics out of this thread (and I'm guessing that will be hard) we will lock it.
  15. "Discretion is the better part of valor"
  16. Neither of those teams sold out and in the Cubs case they can buy starting pitching (see Darvish, Yu) if they want. Brewers need to develop it.
  17. So this subject went 90 pages for a guy no one wanted. Yeah ok. 2018 is now. We should absolutely without any doubt be tying to make the playoffs so I’m sure we aren’t done in July. It's about not giving up Peralta or Burnes. I think plenty of people were ok giving up other pieces.
  18. What do those guys have to do with Stearns?
  19. The song Head Games by Foreigner was based in part on the behind the scenes machinations of the 1978 Rawly Eastwick trade.
  20. Boston seems to do ok getting high draft picks.
  21. I don't recall any "nerds" questioning his offense. It's always been his defense which was bad to begin with and that was before to ACL injuries. He can't move laterally very well at all which is going to hurt him against small forwards and he isn't really big enough to bang with power forwards. Good thing Hoiberg's teams don't really play defense either so maybe it will work. Expect a lot of 120+ point losses next year.
  22. making up rumors somewhere else
  23. I'd start here: https://asm-air.com/airconditioning/condensation-on-ductwork-sweating-ducts/ Maybe that will give you some ideas.
  24. It is better to lose a lot in mid July than mid September.
