I don't see how Herb Kohl was anything but a horrible, meddling owner. His only saving grace was committing to keeping the Bucks in Milwaukee, but as an owner he was really, really bad.
Just throwing a name out for discussion that won't cost the entire farm system: 2nd baseman (but played full time SS as recently as 2015) currently hitting .293/.340/.412. 28 years old (he's been around forever it seems), he is signed through 2020 (team option for last year). Plays ok defense.
True, but County Stadium cost $5.9 million to construct which is roughly $54 million in current dollars. Compare that to Miller Park which cost $400 million to build ($550 million in current dollars). And the 21st century baseball fan isn't going to go to the kind of place that was perfectly suitable in 1953. That isn't really the point. The point is that 60 years ago it was easier to sell a publicly financed stadium to the citizens because the outlay wasn't as significant as it is today.

It looks like the only trade that would be universally lauded would be Tyler Saladino, Jett Bandy, and Timber Rattler OFer Rob Henry for Machado and Britton.
Jon Heyman? No. Heyman just loosely walked through why Stearns would be an interesting name for the job, and pointed out why the chances of it happening are slim to none. Ford is the one who used that to form a click bait headline "Stearns Is a candidate for Mets GM" I know it was a joke.
I'm sure their agents have someone do it for them but it does seem pretty ridiculous. A guy like Ryan Braun probably doesn't know or really care all that much but someone like Eric Sogard who's not making much (relatively speaking) and is playing in both major and minor league cities that is probably a very expensive headache to deal with. I bet the players union gives them advice and/or associates with people to help them out.
Portland has been clamoring for a team for years. And Montreal would have never moved had they built a new stadium. Other cities that have been mentioned in the next wave of expnasion: Mexico City, San Antonio. Charlotte, Nashville, Las Vegas.
No it isn't. I was there in 2004, and you didn't want to go south of the park as it was on the edge of a run down area. Besides that, the Trop is kind of a dump. It's cheesy and dank. Felt like it was build on the cheap. Pretty sure it was built cheap and quickly. Ybor City is probably better than it used to be. I was there for NYE back in like 94/95 and it was an older part of town with a strip of bars....like a poor man's Bourbon St.
