  1. Cool article. Thanks for posting. I've always enjoyed reading Sullivan's stuff.
  2. Might be the best offensive game in history. Could make that argument anyway.
  3. Just because they shot it down doesn't mean it's not true. He's thrown 2 innings his last 2 outings, his family was interviewed and said they're trying him out in the pen. Managing his innings in June by having him make 2 inning starts all of the sudden doesn't make much sense to me. If they really aren't concerned about him going to the MLB pen and just want to develop him as a starter they'd be trying to build his innings up, not reduce them. I guess people are going to draw their own conclusions but the writing seems to be on the wall to me. I guess that's why I asked the question. It seems odd either way.
  4. So if you are converting a guy to a reliever mid season, do you normally just start cutting down his innings all of a sudden? Can't you just have him be a reliever if he gets called up but still pitch starters innings in the minors?
  5. Also, they should not get bereavement if a family member dies. Suck it up and play.
  6. Typical Stearns acquisition - lower rung, middle infielder with upside. Getting him before price gets jacked up. Like the fact that this kid can take a walk.
  7. Your periodic reminder that Domingo Santana is only 24 years old.
  8. Don't get me started about graduation parties for 6th graders.
  9. Why do we cherry pick Broxton's last week or two and completely ignore that Brinson has hit .226 his last 10 games and was very average the entire month of May? Let the guy stay where he is and get healthy.
  10. Interesting concept because you can't defend yourself and not get ejected. I've wondered what would happen if a guy just fell to his knees and looked skyward with his eyes closed. Would the batter still throttle him? I bet not. Probably just shove him.
  11. I'm sure that's part of it. From what I've seen they've been pitching away away away to him. He just has to capitalize on mistakes. Good news is that he's still drawing walks.
  12. He's a 31 year old journeyman who had a hot week. He should be getting almost no playing time. Villar needs to get hot to be considered a journeyman at this point. We're nearly a third of the way into the season and he's hitting .214. It's a better lineup with Sogard in it. By the way, Scooter's OPS is now at .854. Just sayin. Stop playing "I told you so games" with players who are no longer here. They derail threads every time you do it.
  13. Stearns told Haudricourt that Hader is still a starter.
  14. Yes, this is the OPTIMISM THREAD
  15. Santana could be a monster some day. Dude is only 24 years old - just a year and a half older than Brinson.

  17. The answer is because the pitching needs all the defensive help they can get, thus bring up a real OF who is a good defender in addition to a good bat. Whoever they call up won't sit the bench - he will take Braun's place in the starting lineup. Perez is fine for an occasional start, but I'd rather have the experience and athleticism of a Brinson/Phillips/Cordell. Perez has a nice arm, but the three CS OFs are, IMO, better defensively. It's a prime opportunity to get their feet wet and get the major league jitters out of the way. I'm wary of Cooper. Guy is all of a sudden slugging 140 points above his career? Seems like a fluke.
  18. Corey Ray's OPS inching up to .800
  19. I'd be curious to know how much people in Milwaukee spend on average versus the rest of the league on concessions.
  20. I guess Zanik is still in charge of the draft....I can't imagine he's too happy right now.
  21. What Feliciano is doing as an 18 year old in A ball is pretty darn impressive.
