  1. Will Smith underwent Tommy John surgery, Tyler Thornburg hasn't thrown a pitch this year and isn't expected back until May 25, and Jeremy Jeffress has a 5.59 era and a 1.55 whip.
  2. I'm very happy through round 6. The Round 7 guys didn't do much for me but then again...they're round 7 guys. Really like the kid out of BYU and the safety out of NC St (who is basically a faster Micah Hyde). I'm excited that they are finally addressing the speed issue on defense.
  3. If they were actually in the hunt for the playoffs I'd be ok trading a few kids but not one of their top tier prospects. Thing is, it's April. No reason to make any kind of move for a few months.
  4. Looks like the Gatewood resurgence/emergence is lasting. Two more dingers today. It'd be nice to add a legit 1st base prospect to our list of studs.
  5. He torched the Badgers last year. Reminds me a bit of James Jones.
  6. Saw this posted elsewhere about Williams: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2702414-after-5-years-of-byu-and-its-honor-code-jamaal-williams-is-free-what-now
  7. Perine picked by Skins just as I'm reading your post
  8. Biegel fills a need. I like this draft.
  9. I'm fine with the DT pick as he can play multiple positions. As for RB I never really saw it as a huge need. Montgomery and Michael are a fine 1,2. Pick up a third down back who can contribute on special teams and has some upside in the later rounds. I'd rather they get an edge rusher (or two). But at this point it's best player available.
  10. My hunch is they would try some guys from the minors first. And then maybe later on towards mid summer they might make a move.
  11. I watched a few of those Korean videos....and they are incredible. Someone with a sense of humor should get one for their walkup music.
  12. Yah...idk. Good luck to them. I should add that I'm a Packers fan.
  13. Harrison with another dinger. Kinda crazy that he and Gatewood are maybe breaking out in the same season.
  14. Bears trade #3, 67, 111, and 2018 third rounder for SF's #2 pick and take....Mitch Trubisky. I LOVE this Bears GM!
  15. Did you read the article? He had 20/20 when they drafted him.
  16. Tony Plush, baby
  17. That's just it - Brewers don't have to do a thing. They can wait it out and see how the prospects develop. If things are looking up then keep him, if things are bleak then trade him and reap the rewards. Nice place to be.
  18. that whole team is hitting over .300 more or less. hard to say what's real and what's Colorado Springs.
  19. I like Eric Thames. I also like that everyone thinks he's on roids. haterz gonna hate
  20. I agree with this, but the statement you made below seems to suggest the brewers should take a pitcher just to take a pitcher:
  21. He seems to be seeing the ball a bit better this series. Two walks so far today is a good sign.
  22. Best player available. Just because you need a pitcher doesn't mean you take one if he's not worth taking at that point in the draft. Too many things happen and these kids are too far from actually contributing on the field to pick for need. Heck Brewers could make a trade or two and all of a sudden have a glut of pitching and a dearth of outfielders.
  23. I think it's one thing to want a guy traded and another to guess as to what he'd bring in return.
  24. Shuckers Drop Third Straight http://www.sunherald.com/sports/mlb/biloxi-shuckers/29yp12/picture145146844/alternates/FREE_960/AW Biloxi starting pitcher Aaron Wilkerson started against Jackson Saturday at MGM Park. John Fitzhugh jcfitzhugh@sunherald.com File Read more here: http://www.sunherald.com/sports/mlb/biloxi-shuckers/article146258594.html#storylink=cpy The Biloxi Shuckers fell into an early 4-0 hole on Saturday, and were unable to overcome it, as they lost their series opener to the Jackson Generals 8-2 in front of 3,507 fans at MGM Park. The loss was the third straight for the Shuckers, who fell victim to swirling winds on a gusty night. The Generals hit two opposite-field home runs to left field to pad their lead in the middle innings. Aaron Wilkerson (2-2) started for the Shuckers, and was greeted in the first inning by two doubles, a single and a sacrifice fly to put his team in a 2-0 deficit. He recovered in the second, but the third inning started with five straight baserunners and two more runs. The big blow in the inning, a two-run single by Kevin Cron, was preceded by two dropped popups in foul territory by the Shuckers infield. The Shuckers got a run back in the fourth when Michael Reed hit his fourth home run, and second in as many days, over the left field wall. They added a run in the fifth and loaded the bases to chase starter Alex Young from the game, but Gabe Speier (2-0) entered to escape the jam. The Generals would add to their lead with an Evan Marzilli solo home run and Victor Reyes two-run double to make the score 7-2 after six innings. In the seventh, Speier helped his own cause and homered to left field to make the score 8-2. It was the first home run by a Generals pitcher since 2006, the final year of Jackson's affiliation with the National League's Chicago Cubs. Nick Ramirez, Forrest Snow, Preston Gainey and Matt Ramsey relieved Wilkerson in the game's latter innings. Mauricio Dubon extended his hitting streak to six games with a fifth-inning double. The two teams play at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Biloxi Box Score Biloxi Game Log
