  1. Missing Delfino and Ersan.

  3. I think a lot of guys would play in Green Bay (or Milwaukee or Timbuktu) if means they'll either: A) pad their stats by playing with someone really good (ala Rodgers) or B) potentially win a championship Obviously some don't feel that way but there are plenty that do. But having said that, signing free agents is not a prudent way to build and maintain a good team.
  4. Kinda hard to judge with a GM that doesn't sign Free Agents.
  5. The only thing about last night that I took away was the Giannis might be OK eventually. Other than that I don't know how you can make any conclusions about this team based on one pre-season game.
  6. And I think that's silly. Go inside if you have to, intentionally walk him if you want, but there's no need to risk injuring a guy because he's good. Eddie Matthews hit four homers in a game once (almost five I believe) and the opposing team drilled him in the head causing him to miss significant time. That's just moronic.
  7. I never understood throwing at a guy for hitting too many home runs. That's something a third grader does.
  8. Cubs can take a risk on guys like Gamel. Brewers can't.
  9. I think NOT killing Walt provided Jesse with further separation from him. As if he was saying "I'm a better man than you."
  10. Where'd you eat?
  11. I read somewhere that the final song was downloaded 5,000 times on iTunes Sunday night. The most times it had ever been downloaded in one week prior to that was 1,000.
  12. I agree about the final scene. Absolutely loved the song and final shot - although I think they could have cut to black after his hand slid off the blood smeared chrome.
  13. Thoughts? I felt it was a good way to wrap up the series although unlike most episodes there really were no surprises for me. Everything sort of happened how I expected it to happen (except maybe asking Elliot and Gretchen to launder his drug money for him).
  14. No one could have won with that team. He was doomed the day he took the job.
  15. Estrada's numbers since coming off the DL: 9 starts 58.2 IP 33 Hits 11 BB 56 K .75 WHIP 2.15 ERA
  16. Thornburg is having a really weird season. He was pretty bad at AAA and has been pretty good for the Brewers. I'm still not ready to give him a spot in the rotation though. I'd like to see him at AAA for insurance in 14.
  17. That's dumb but how is that different from Ronald. Not sure why you bring that up in a Ned Yost thread. I happen to think RR kinda sucks at managing the pen too although at least he is willing to let his closer get more than 3 outs. Macha, for all his leadership faults, could at least manage a pen.
  18. Ned would pitch the 7th inning guy in the 7th, the 8th inning guy in the 8th, and the 9th inning guy in the 9th regardless of matchup or situation.
  19. Slightly better than .500 might make the playoffs in the AL. I think the Brewers could realistically get to 85 wins next year which could very well be worth a wild card spot. Having said that, I don't believe Melvin should be GM anymore. Not sure what you have against Attanasio.
  20. Well with Braun, a 1st baseman, and a healthy pitching staff I think it's slightly better than .500. You are free to change allegiances at any time.
  21. Brewers are 30 - 28 since the all star break. Not too shabby considering all the injuries (and suspension).
  22. Yeah, grab some guy like Punto who can play all over and still gets on base some. Not ideal but might work out well.
  23. I will also add that if you follow pythagorean records, the Pirates are about 7 games ahead of their predicted W/L for the year.
  24. So in the meantime, you'll pay him 3-4 mil for the first half of the year so you can flip him for .....what? If he was already under contract, I could see this scenario, but I can't see paying the guy what he'll likely get for the express stated purpose of turning him around for a prospect. Well it's not the only option but I wouldn't have a problem with it. It's not my money.
  25. I actually wouldn't have a problem signing Hart to a one year deal and then flipping him at the deadline.
