  1. There was a stretch in the 2nd half where Taylor, Evans, and Brust all took really quick shots. That seemed to really stall their momentum. Hopefully they learn from it and improve. Can't improve the defense too much that's for sure.
  2. I dunno. These are 20, 21 year old kids. I don't think they get run down.
  3. Smart for Marshall and Uthoff to redshirt. That team is going to be absolutely stacked in two or three years.
  4. Finally the Cards have a classy manager.
  5. That's how I feel about most Kevin Smith movies.
  6. Agreed. Awesome doc.
  7. Released by Cleveland. Any interest in signing him to potentially play 1st base? This assumes he wants to play first base. He's had like 19 surgeries on his knees. I think playing 1st would help in that regard. Maybe they cut ties with Nyjer and tell Sizemore he'll play CF once in a while as part of a platoon with Gomez and 1st base the rest of the time. Is it worth a one year incentive laden deal? Or is Grady a product of the steroid era?
  8. Sickels' 2010 Top 20 for Milwaukee. We just need to keep things in perspective. I like the additions of Jungmann & Bradley, but it will be interesting to see how each fares in 2012. Yeah, I have a real problem ranking any draft pick until he actually throws in a minor league game.
  9. What is a balanced lineup anyway???? The fact of the matter is, the Brewers had a decent lineup and good pitching. In the playoffs, the pitching abandoned them for whatever reason. If the Brewers want to contend again next year they need to improve the defense and the lineup. Changing out the SS and 3B will go a long ways towards doing just that.
  10. You can't build a team for the post season. You build a team to GET to the post season and hope they can go all the way.
  11. I think a manager loses more games for a team than he wins. IN the Brewers case, RR lost them more games than he won. Not many, but a few. I will say that he got better as the year went along.
  12. I liked beast mode for the simple fact that TLR did not like it.
  13. Whatever. If they won the world series everyone would love it.
  14. Yeah, I didn't have a problem leaving Wolf in at that point.
  15. You don't know that because they didn't play. But it's safe to assume they would have done better in the field...not 100% certain but a really good assumption.
  16. I'm shocked that I have so much in common with the starting pitching staff of the Boston Red Sox for I, too, drink beer and eat chicken during baseball games.
  17. I think Rodgers did "Beast mode" towards the end of the game tonight. It was right as they were leaving the field before Crosby's final field goal.
  18. Losing Axford would be a blow but not a death blow. K Rod would close, Saito to the 8th.
  19. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay. +1 Welcome!
  20. Wait didnt Chris Carpenter drop an F-bomb toward T-Plush. So they shouldnt want him in the World Series eitherSomeone in the Cards dugout yelled the same thing Morgan did after they beat Philly. Heard it clear as day.
  21. I realize you like bringing people back to earth but for one night can you just....not do that? Nope, I am not a kneejerk poster and never will be.Well you got that word half right any way.
  22. in the NFC playoffs a few years back, a underdog NY Giants team beat the top seed to give the Packers home field advantage in the NFC championship game. Then I guy named Brett Favre.... The better team does not win 100% of the time even with home field advantage, it is rare they win even 70% of the time.I realize you like bringing people back to earth but for one night can you just....not do that?
  23. No Cardinal has ever given me a venereal disease.
  24. Why? The manager is nothing more than a figure head in baseball. You might get one win out of a manager all year that is 1 win out of 162 games. I just don't get why fans get so upset about the manager in baseball it is not like they are calling plays like in football. A baseball manager is so insignificant just look at Dusty Baker and see what he has done with teams. Baker is not a good manager but somehow he has made it to the World Series and has managed other clubs to the playoffs. The reason being is because he really didn't have any impact on the team it was the talent that got them there. Managers are so overrated in baseball. So if how do you know if he's not a good manager if he doesn't matter?
  25. This sounds like a Reinsdorf influenced hire.
