For those of you that are over 40 and maybe went to college in Milwaukee/Madison:

I've heard from numerous people (and from reading stories on the web) that the iPhone is notorious for dropping calls. I've had a few friends get rid of their iPhones and move to an Android type model for that very reason. Until they hook up with Sprint, I won't buy one (even though I think they are really cool).

Didn't really have anything else to prove in AAA. Good to see he'll be on the playoff roster.

Man Fiers is good. 6IP 8k 1H 0 BB on only 70 pitches so far.

Yeah, its way too early to talk about Jungmann. I'd rather get rid of Wolf before he hits his inevitable decline.

Nationals not interested in Fielder

The thought of Prince Fielder playing 1st base at age 34 is downright frightening. Let him walk. Sign Greinke instead. -

The Brewers have zero depth after Peralta. You don't consider Fiers depth?

God I hope so. I mentioned this in another thread but his value will never be higher. He's on the downside of his career and is due to fall off soon. Trade him while you can still get something for him. Marcum will still be serviceable and relatively cheap for another year. As for McGehee, isn't he due for arby next year? He's fine as long as he's cheap but I'd trade him before he starts costing more than his replacement.

If the Brewers lose Prince, I think they need to shore up the infield defense significantly and play to their strength - pitching. Start Green at 3rd, find a stop gap shortstop with an awesome glove that won't kill you at the plate (Barmes?), and then you could trade McGehee, Gamel, and maybe Wolf (his value will NEVER be higher) for a 1st baseman or start Gamel at 1st and trade McGehee and Wolf for prospects or a good shortstop you have control over for a few years. I realize trading Wolf sort of runs counter to the "rely on pitching" theme but he is due to fall off a cliff and I'd rather the Brewers get something for him while his value is high than wait and have him fall off the cliff next season. I'm fine with only one lefty in the rotation. Put Peralta or Fiers in there as the number 4 guy.

Not totally dismissing Arnett's numbers - they are encouraging - but KC is one of the worst hitting teams in the Midwest League.

Jo Cats must have changed a bit in the last 6 years. Used to be you could see homeless guys mixed with 60 year old women mixed with 20 year olds in there.

I don't buy into the belief there is some manager who is capable of making chicken salad out of chicken poop. Well no but there's putting guys in the best position to succeed and maximizing the talent of each player. RR did not do that, IMO, before Saito and Hawkins got healthy and KRod entered the picture.

Heck you could say they have shutdown relievers for the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th (Saito, Hawkins, KRod, Axe). I can't remember a Brewer pitching staff this good since the early 80's. I guess '92 was pretty decent.
