  1. He has almost pitched like Sabathia since the all star break....which is about how long the Brewers had CC. Greinke post all star break: 2.29 ERA 86.1 innings 92 Ks 23 BB 1.08 WHIP Sabathia post all star break in 2008 1.56 era 115.2 innings 114 K 19 BB .97 WHIP

  3. McGehee actually squared to bunt with runners on 1st and 2nd. McGehee.
  4. Circumstantial evidence is still evidence. Where there's smoke there's fire.
  5. True, maybe worded a bit strongly but if the reason you trade a guy is because of his attitude then he's got to have some kind of attitude. Especially with the kind of bat Lawrie had. And X said my statement was devoid of all fact which it clearly was not.
  6. Sickels says it was one of the reason the Brewers got rid of him (more or less). That's all I'm saying. Google "Lawrie attitude" and you'll find dozens of references. It didn't just spring up from nowhere. Rumors were all over that he had a fight in the Huntsville clubhouse, that he was benched on more than one occasion in Appleton for his attitude, etc. From Haudricourt: "I've heard Lawrie wasn't happy that he didn't get a September call-up by the Brewers, and he did later back out of an assignment to the Arizona Fall League. There just seems to be something amiss in his relationship with the Brewers, and perhaps that was one of the reasons they were willing to trade him to the Blue Jays for Marcum." Yes, he's speculating but there's just too much evidence out there to suggest he did not have attitude issues.
  7. Wow. That couldn't be more devoid of fact. Nothing like making things up to support a weak argument. Pretty unfair to the player too. It's been well documented he had attitude issues. Sorry this contradicts your personal scouting report: From John Sickels: Attitude: This is the big knock on Lawrie and one of the reasons (it is said) that the Brewers were willing to trade him. http://www.minorleaguebal...rie-3b-toronto-blue-jays "The one thing though that has to raise red flags for us Toronto fans is the Brewers likely completely gave up on Lawrie due to attitude issues, the main one being that he refused an assignment to the fall league which seems completely irrational given he is still learning a new position" http://www.bluejaysmix.co...de-for-brett-lawrie.html All I'm saying is he needed a change of scenery. This does not detract from his ability only that this was one additional reason the Brewers had to trade him. Hope he does well for Toronto.
  8. Lawrie was also a malcontent that the Brewers really couldn't stand. He needed a change of atmosphere.
  9. So you can't say it worked for the White Sox if the best you can say is that it's possible. I don't dislike ALL bunting. Late in games it's fine to go for one run. But Morgan bunting every time Hart gets a lead off single is just dumb. Especially when you have two of the best power hitters in the league on deck. It's not like Morgan is a big double play threat either.
  10. At the very least, the Brewers learned they have four or five really legit prospects in Green, Fiers, Peralta, Gindl, Schafer, and Thornburg. Now if they could only develop a shortstop.....El Pirata I'm looking in your direction.
  11. The thing I like best about Morgan is that St Louis fans hate him.
  12. I don't think they care as long as he's not driving.
  13. That is classic.
  14. Kind of ironic that you recently called someone out for being condescending and then you post something like this. Don't throw stones, dude.

  16. How about bunting Hart over to second with zero outs in the 1st inning? How about guys trying to steal third with two outs in an inning? How about double steals with one of your slowest guys as lead runner?
  17. Playing guys that are bad is a bad decision when you have guys that are better on the bench. If you want to refute that, please do so. Excessive bunting results in fewer runs scoring. This has been proven by several people. A quick Google search will lead to you the results. If you want to refute, please do so.
  18. This has become such a circular chicken and egg argument. RR is bad, they are winning he can't be bad, they are winning because they are getting good pitching, then the manager doesn't matter so what's the point?, the point is they could be doing better, how can they do better than what they've been doing? With a better manager....because RR is bad. Rinse, repeat.
  19. Just because the Brewers win doesn't mean he's making good decisions. They are winning in spite of his decisions (i.e. they are getting great pitching)
  20. I don't think Green is necessarily a platoon candidate only. He's not awful against lefties. He's sort of just below average against them.
  21. Plus Gindl's home and road splits are pretty dramatic leading me to believe his power numbers are inflated by the PCL effect. I still like him though and wouldn't mind him being called up if one of the corner outfielders was hurt. I think he needs another year in AAA so I can get a better read on the type of player he is.
  22. I think he's asking how you know we struggle in games against first time starters.
  23. Wow! I miss this thread! I actually sang karaoke tonight. Eek.
