  1. "Eight year olds, dude."
  2. Now LaRussa is saying it's better to intentionally bean a guy in the back than unintentionally bean someone in the wrist. He is a complete buffoon.
  3. That bean ball "war" was typical LaRussa too. Throw chin music just because your meal ticket was unintentionally hit on the wrist...unless Saito actually was trying to load the bases in a tie game. I'm not sure.
  4. Basically, any time the Cards lose it's because the other team cheated. Got it.

  6. And correct me if I'm wrong but there were only two hits with runners at 2nd base right? Hart and Morgan. Those are the only two where the Brewers could have stolen a sign...unless, of course, there is someone eating the Tuscan Spinach dip at TGI Friday's with binoculars and bat phone to the Brewer dugout.
  7. http://images.cheezburger.com/completestore/2011/8/2/e0e39857-4233-477e-8c9f-6af211017c31.jpg AWESOME.
  8. Losing K-Rod will be a big loss and tough to replace. True. I was talking about starting pitching. I figure setup guy will be a FA pickup (even though I think there are some guys in the minors that could do it).
  9. Some people think these "future lineup" threads are dumb but I think they're fun. Given the stellar play of some of the guys at Nashville this year, I thought it'd be fun to put together an ideal lineup based only on who is currently in the system and who we expect to be here next year (bye bye Prince). I'm not going to toy with batting order but merely who will play where and how often (i.e. platoon vs. full time). I guarantee this won't happen because I have some high priced dudes getting platooned, but in my opinion this is what would be the best team they could field. Catcher - Lucroy 1st - Gamel 2nd - Weeks SS - uh, Robin Yount circa 1982? I guess we go with a Yuni/Hairston platoon? Yikes. That will have to be a free agent pickup but that's another thread. 3rd - Green LF - Braun CF - I'm fine with Gomez/T Plush platoon. They could potentially trade T Plush and call up Schafer. RF - Hart/Gindl platoon The nice thing is that the pitching staff will be exactly the same as this year.
  10. I bet it goes all the way to Aug 15th.
  11. I don't think he's lazy. I just think he's physically incapable of getting to baseballs. He lacks flexibility, he's not all that fast, and he doesn't have quick feet. Lopez was lazy...probably still is. Betancourt is just not a good athlete.
  12. Robert, Is Tree of Life something I can wait until its on DVD? Or am I losing out on the visuals? Sort of like watching a David Lean film on a small screen? I think Malick is a visual master but the dialog puts me to sleep. I could watch his movies on mute and be quite happy.
  13. But putting together a football roster and putting together a baseball roster are two totally different things. They are only comparable in that the job title is the same.
  14. Actually, most people on Lambeauleap thought Thompson was doing a great job all along. And I guarantee most people that think Thompson is a worse GM than Melvin still wear Brett Favre jerseys.
  15. Not on the 0 - 1 pitch he fouled off. It was pretty obvious that it was called from the dugout since he tried bunting two pitches in a row. Even if it was for a hit it was still dumb.
  16. So Morgan just tried to bunt Hart to third......in the FIRST INNING! Dude is hitting .330 and you have him bunt with a RISP. Fire Roenicke.
  17. So I finally got around to taking my Jeep to this place. Good guys. He's convinced it doesn't need a new engine but it's still going to cost me a grand to get it fixed. So I'm saving $500 - $1500, get to keep my car, and can sell it and make my money back in a year. All in all, I'm not too upset.
  18. I just went on the website and invited myself: http://www.spotify.com/us/hello-america/ Although my buddy tried to do it today and he said there was no free option.
  19. Update after recent surge: .321 (2nd in NL. Reyes is hitting .353) 65 RBI (5th - 75 for Howard) 20 HR (T for 7th. Berkman has 27) He may not lead in any of these categories when its all said and done but with the 19 stolen bases already he's going to put up one heck of a season. MVP candidate type season.
  20. Interesting. So you like music that pretty much no one else likes?
  21. Thank goodness Ramirez was promoted. I was thinking I might have to bite my pillow today.
  22. Her family will.
  23. I really hope that McGehee was caught off third on his own. RR would NEVER call a double steal with the slowest dude on the squad at third would he? Would he????
  24. His big problem is the dinger. He's given up about twice as many (rate wise) this season over any other season in his career. I have no idea why that is. His stuff is no different (and might be better) than it was two years ago. I still love watching him pitch. Just wish he'd stop giving up homers.
