Just watched Tsotsi the other night. It's a South African movie about a young gangster who begins to find redemtion when he unexpectedly comes into possession of an infant. I thought it was really well done with some great performances.
Yeah he said Hart would never develop any power because his elbow pointed down at the ground and not back toward the backstop. Scoop also was prone to vehemently defending the band Green Day.
I hate my job. I hate my clients. There really isn't much about my job I enjoy except the fact that I work from home and don't have to shave everyday. Please, feel free to share your job horror stories so I can stop feeling sorry for myself.
I use a laptop, phone, printer, and Blackberry every day for work but I don't pay for any of it - my employer does. And just to be clear, I'm not in a union.
Listening to the White Sox/Cubs game on the Score and Steve Stone (who's a WS broadcaster for those that don't know) said Aramis Ramirez is a good off speed hitter because he has a lot of RBI - meaning he hits the ball the other way a lot. Now, I guess hitting the ball the other way shows you can hit off speed stuff, but does that really have anything to do with how many RBI you have?
Right, and I'm not disputing that fact. I wanted him called up too but I don't think anyone thought he was capable of doing what he's done so far. I'm getting the impression that people knew he would be an offensive dynamo. If I'm mistaken about that I apologize.
This whole Braun OBP thing has gotten out of hand. It is a flaw plain and simple. Is it a huge flaw given his propensity to hit home runs and hit for average? Probably not - certainly not as big a flaw as his defense was last year. But it is a flaw and in some people's eyes that lowers his value relative to other guys that play the same position.
Was Ponson ever good? I remember Gammons touting him as the next Tom Seaver about ten years ago but he never fufilled his promise. Edit: Yeah, I guess he had one 'good' year in 2003 when he split time between Baltimore and SF (and his 02 was pretty decent). Other than that his numbers are pretty mediocre.
