  1. TB has not developed one decent starting pitcher (Kazmir was acquired via trade).
  2. Poor Corey Hart. He's the red headed step child of Brewer prospects.
  3. I'll be rooting for Cain but I think he's a year away. I'll go with Gillespie. Pitcher will be Gallardo (Inman if Yo! gets called up)
  4. Do we actually know for a fact that it's one scout's assessment being repeated in several publications? Or is that just conjecture at this point?
  5. And that seems to be just about every talent evaluator in baseball except those with the Brewers organization.
  6. Gamel is 21. He'll be 22 in late July.
  7. This thread is rEdiculous.
  8. Well Roy Campanella was 5'8" so I don't think its an absolute - not that you were inferring that. Might something to do with the fact that most little guys are either forced to play the infield or lack the arm strength and bulk to play catcher.
  9. Saw Brick finally....it's saving grace was its originality. These were suburban white kids talking like Mike Hammer - that fact kept sticking with me as I watched and I couldn't shake it. It was really well made, but I don't think I'll be able to defend it so vehemently as other people can. Good rental is about as much praise as I can heap - maybe I need to watch it again.
  10. See Silva, Carlos - circa 2004 - 2005. 147 Ks, 44 BB in roughly 391 innings.
  11. I thought you guys were kidding about a dude named Poo Tang. Wow.
  12. You almost have to TRY and lose more than 105 games. I'd say they win about 60 - 65.
  13. Colby, How often do you update the top 30 prospects? And when was the last time you did so?
  14. Racine resident Craig Leipold owns the Nashville Predators NHL franchise (and owns a residence in downtown Nashville). I'm sure he has lots of ties to the Brewers ownership group - wonder if he's been approached or if the Brewers management doesn't really care since they can pretty much move their AAA team anyplace.
  15. I remember the first time I posted that Sexson wasn't clutch, Brian calmly pointed out his stats in close/late and with runners in scoring postition.I took my lumps and changed my opinion of Richie. As long as people are treated calmly and rationally, they will probably change their minds. It's when you force it down their throats that they feel threatened. I wish the mods would crack down a little harder on the snide remarks that regulars make. That would help alleviate this.
  16. Sam, his bio is on their website.
  17. Cain - my favorite prospect Gillespie Iribarren Salome Brewer
  18. Anybody know what Braun is slugging? Seems like every hit he's gotten has been for extra bases.
  19. Alright, finally put Brick at the top of my queue so I can see what all the fuss is about. Anybody ever see Primer? Its about two guys that build a time machine. An indy pic done on the cheap, its more about the trouble they cause themselves than any bold special effects. Lots of twists and turns and can be quite confusing at times, but it is one of those movies that you think about for a while afterwards.
  20. I saw this a few months ago and for the life of me I can't remember how it ended. It was written and directed by Darren Aronofsky (also directed Requiem for a Dream) The Prestige I really like Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Memento) and expected a lot going in. It's a good movie about competing magicians in the late 1800's and tries to pull off one of those big 'twist' endings but I saw most of the surprises coming very early so I was kind of let down. Nonetheless, it was a pretty entertaining flick and well done technically (nominated for a few Oscars for art direction and cinematography). And its not bad to stare at Scarlett Johannson in a bustier for a little while.
  21. Daylight Savings is for quitters!!!!!
  22. YES. God bless us, everyone.
  23. Jenkins with a two run single. Game is tied 3-3 in the bottom of 6th. Is this the new TV guy working with Schroeder?
  24. I know guys are enamored with Brantley's OBP, but 12 extra base hits is pretty weak. I think another year in A ball is warranted given his age and the fact that the guys passing him are more advanced physically. I hope he can fill out some and start at least hitting some doubles.
  25. I thought it was pretty funny when Roy's brother started breaking stuff too.
