    I've started watching Arrested Development on DVD recently and can't understand why it was cancelled. It's hilarious. Also just saw The Departed last night. It's a great movie although not up to the level of Goodfellas. I thought the editing was odd in that they seemed to cut scenes short and move from one conversation to a different one almost without pause. To me, this made the plot/story development a little confusing at times - especially in the beginning of the movie. Scorcese would also cut music abruptly so I'm guessing there was a reason for this. It may be a little long for some people but the payoff the last 20 minutes is worth it. Without giving it away (as someone did on another thread here - Boo!) you'll probably gasp once or twice.

    re: Cain I had a small man crush on Lorenzo last year. He just started playing baseball in high school so he's got a lot to learn. I was convinced he would be a top prospect but his less than mediocre showing in the Hawaiian Winter League has tempered my enthusiasm a bit. I'll be really interested to see how he starts out this year.

    Rumors are floating that Fox wasn't comfortable with the corporate bashing that Starbucks, Carl's Jr., and Fuddruckers take in the movie.

    Yeah, that's the one. And it's not all that great a movie on the whole, but I felt it was better than most of the schlock they count as comedies these days (Without a Paddle, I'm looking in your direction) and at least worth a rental. EDIT: And they did claim 'not marketable'. It got pretty decent reviews overall. reviews of Idiocracy

    Anyone see Idiocracy? It's Mike Judge's (Beavis and Butthead, Office Space) movie that was hardly released anywhere. It falls flat as a comedy (although there are some pretty funny parts) and it seems as if they just decided to stop filming on a whim and start editing because the plot is really thin, but maybe that was the intent? Some biting commentary on American culture and society - if you don't get the joke then you are the one that's being made fun of.

    It's amazing how close these 'community projections' come to reality sometimes. Point Spreads are basically one big 'community projection' as are some types of futures markets. Every individual has some tiny bit of information that sways the average one way or the other and collectively it comes out pretty close. Now, I think in order to be somehwat accurate for Weeks you'd need a lot more projections than what are listed thusfar, but the premise is sound enough.

    All I know is that the one time I poked fun at someone (in my four years of posting), my post was edited by a mod.....who happened to be the person I was poking fun of. When I asked this person why they did this without a warning or why I wasn't given a chance to edit the post myself, I received no response at all. Funny thing is, this person is no longer a mod so maybe I wasn' t the only one with a problem? Funnier still is this person now feels there is uneven treatment on this board. Heh.

    Some people mock others by name and others just respond arrogantly in general. To me there's little difference.

    'Politics' is sort of a broad umbrella including a lot of hot button political topics - global warming, racism, etc. I like talking issues as much as the next guy, but it inevitably gets hostile. I'm glad we keep it off this site. I thought people had to read some kind of FAQ before they registered, no?

    Do you qualify for the pension if you never make it on a 40 man roster? I guess the dilema for me would be: make a few more million and possibly toil in the minors for years OR still be e millionaire but play in the NFL right away.
