  1. Here's hoping!! As people have said all winter, if he can just be serviceable at the plate we can win with him. Hopefully a light will go on. Asking for help sure sounds like a step in the right direction.
  2. I was a big fan of Matt Christopher's books.
  3. Thank you to Robert and others that have talked about the "Third Man" for quite a while now. I'll always wanted to see it but was to lazy to make the effort. It was recently on TCM and I DVRed it. What a great movie! If anyone else was lazy like me, take the time -- way worth it. Thanks again.
  4. Nice article Patrick. Thanks for posting the link.
  5. Crewcrazy, I'd feel more optimistic about Logan's chance for the upcoming MLB season if he'd remained healthy ( who wouldn't I guess). Mostly missing last season, I think it'll take a bit to bring all together again. But I'd love to be wrong. I'm higher on Schafer than Komotsu. Can Mark DiFelice be optioned directly to the minors or does he have to pass through waivers? It'd be a nice story if he could rebound to form.
  6. Thanks Mass, I was thinking about a Rosario for Egan swap. I guess I didn't know that Rosario was thought of as much of a prospect.

  8. Does anyone think the Brewers and the O's could/should just make this a player for player swap, taking the 25 man roster part out of the equation? I mean Egan could turn out to be a flop, but I've never heard much about Rosario-- good, bad, or otherwise. In this scenario both pitchers would be able to be optioned to the minors correct?

  10. I'm not sure what Russell would be looking for in terms of PT and AB's. Does he want to play a lot or just win? He turned 35 in December, so time isn't on his side. He had a nice year last season in Cleveland and Seattle. In 109 games he had 25 HR's. I'm afraid that's a starter at DH somewhere. His salary in '09 was 1.4 mil and in '10 it was 1.5mil. If that's all the cash it would take to bring Russell in to be a back up at all four corners and the thunder off the bench, I can't see a downside.
  11. I'm not one of the minor league experts, but Prince struggled pretty mightily last season. His calling card is his speed. In Montana the kid ran wild. In the MWL he had more trouble getting on and the SB was a moot point. I believe he has a solid glove but nothing flashy. He did well in the pioneer league because he was an college player and they tend to be advanced for that league. IMO his prospects look fairly dim,but I'm no expert and I'd sure love to be wrong.
  12. Thank you so much for your time in Milwaukee Cappy, wish we could've won more for you. Good luck this upcoming season (Please don't play for the Cubs). No one will ever have your pick off move, that thing is freaking nasty.
  13. Gotta love the whole scene in Nashville. The rotation and bullpen have more names to follow than normal that's for sure! And the starting 8 minus SS all have big league potential. Should be a fun ride. The Huntsville outfield will also be a highlight. Davis and Komatsu are exciting and I have a man crush on Haydel. I keep waiting for the Melvin "speed develops late" theory to kick in. Thanks for the work Toby, always a great thread.
  14. 88 seems like a high, yet attainable number. I'd love to see 90 but; our schedule, ss, players reverting to norms (I'm looking at you Corey), and injuries all give me enough pause to at least turn down my rose colored glasses a small notch.
  15. Now that Alcides has left the fold, I say swing away young man! "If you want to hit a dinger, ya got to be swinger!" I am no longer bothered by your lack of plate discipline or your recent error streak. Good luck to you and all, but my box score cringing will hence forth cease.
  16. I guess this thread was in response to people talking about Mark being a 4th/5th starter. To me, it sounded as though some thought he was a 4/5 for life. I totally agree that he may a 5 this season and/or next season. But at some point, God willing, I see him as a potential 1/2. Most of those chiming in on this thread are regulars to the minor league scene. I think some of the less optimistic aren't necessarily the same crowd. I obviously phrased the thread title improperly, it should've read some--not all. My bad.
  17. I've been reading a lot of peoples opinion on Mark Rogers and I'm not sure I agree with them. Is Rogers a 4/5 ? I sure don't see him that way. I'm sure I'm biased with my man crush, but his upside is that of a 1/2. He obviously has a two glowing red flags: Health and Control. I agree that both of those things could stop him in AAA. But I believe if he makes it to Milwaukee that he's managed to stay healthy and has a gotten a better grasp of the strike zone. He works in the mid 90's. Hitters don't make good contact against him. And as was reported on Brewerfan, he wasn't using his curve ball until late in the year per the Brewers request. I guess I just think he has more upside than Jake O who doesn't have the sheer velocity that Rogers does. Is Rogers more likely to flame out than Jake ? Absolutely. Just wondering what others think?
  18. Joining the guessing game. Jeffress & Rivas Edit-- Maybe he's the PTBNL
  19. Great, the freaking Riot can stick it to us in St. Louis now. Why do pesky guys just find a way to stick it to the Crew? I'm sure the answer lies in his peskiness (it's a new word, all of the kid are using it.)
  20. Thank you to Mass and Co. for the tremendous work you do all season. I truly appreciate all of the time and effort each and everyone of you take out of your lives to make ours a little bit brighter. See you in the spring (of course the link report, not the site http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif )
  21. Here in Baraboo, we had the game on for like 15 minutes ( about 20 minutes ago) and then it went back to black!! Charter giveth, and Charter taketh away.
  22. Al we're on!!! A little slow, but I'll give Charter some love. Thanks to Al for rattling the cages of some people.
  23. Looks like it's back to putting Charter & the Bucks in the axis of evil. That's a disappointing out come to a promising evening.
