  1. I'm in Baraboo and channel 88 is blank. Anybody else having luck with charter?
  2. Does this mean I finally have to say something nice about Charter? Thanks for the info everyone, it has made my day!!
  3. Mods, please move or combine this thread if you think it's out of place. With the 25 man roster looking pretty tough to crack, it would seem keeping a project like Lofgren may be poor choice. With Cleveland being in rebuild mode I would imagine they'd want Chuck back rather than just let the Crew keep him and send him down. I like the idea of Lofgren and would like to see if a change in scenery/ time allows him to take more steps forward. What would you be willing to give Cleveland in order to hand onto Chuck? I've got a few players that I'd let go 1 for 1. I feel more like it's a level/ type of player you give for a chance of Lofgren fulfilling his potential. Guys like John Axford, Evan Anundsen, Eric Farris, the Hurricane, Bredan Katin and Adam Heether. Most of these players you can see their ceiling. A chance to play at the next level, but most likely not stars.
  4. Pre-Brewerfan I'll give you Brian Banks and Ty Hill. I can still remember being honked off Sean Berry was kept and Banker was cut. Ty Hill? What do you expect when Sal Bando is involved. Matt Yeatman caught my fancy, and then we promptly traded him for Matt Kinney. I was sure that trade was going to look bad in history. Luckily I was wrong and then we got Yeatman back a few seasons later. Neugebauer's rise was exciting, and his injuries were devastating on some bad Brewer teams. But Tom Wilhelmsen is my one huge regret. That old feeling was vindicated last season when he was re-activated, but it was apparently not to be. I was expecting to see Brian somewhere in this thread with his man crush.
  5. Thanks for the post Toby, always one of the best of the off season. It took a minute to compute that Villanueva wasn't in his customary spot in the Crew's bull pen, nice call. The Salome/ LuCroy decision is a tough call. If Jonathan is this close to the big club, the AA to the bigs is a bigger step. On the other hand, do you crush Salome's confidence with a demotion to Huntsville? I don't have an answer. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Huntsville outfield. That AA rotation isn't too shabby either. At first blush Brevard County looks to be pretty rough. Three guys to hold your attention. There's nothing wrong with Wisconsin's outfield either, a ton of potential. And that T-Rats rotation doesn't have a hole-- makes road tripping to the Fox Valley less of rotation gamble.
  6. I think that Locke will actually be dead. Some of the island magic, whodo, voodoo will reincarnate him when they return to the island. I agree that the Desmond/ Faraday relationship is more trouble than it needs to be. I see this season as the vehicle to return Locke to "hero" instead of whack job. And it is my belief that Jin is still alive.
  7. I never thought I could that I could forget Pat Hughes when he left. Listening to Jim Powell, I think Pat who? Oh yeah, that's that turn coat announcer for the Cubs ( In Pat's defense, he jumped ship to Chicago while the Crew was still in the AL). The best compliment that I can give to Jim, is that it doesn't matter who's inning it is. Whether it's Bob or Jim, both are equally magnificent. I hope that Mr.Powell is able to view these posts. I really hope he stays with our Brewers. But if he doesn't good luck in Hotlanta. He will not be replaced, someone else will just be white noise to Bob.
  8. After my Christmas eve with my mom's side of the family, my parents, siblings, the wife and I return to home and watch "Christmas story". It has defiantly become a tradition. And while decorating the tree we always pop in Rudolph. If they are on, I never turn down Christmas Vacation or Scrogged.
  9. I've been trying to throw a curve now for about 20 years, still no luck. No break. Can't throw the knuckle either. No velocity to speak on my fastball either, maybe mid 60's. I blame my dad. See, my dad is left handed. And when I was a wee little one I was showing definite left handedness. My dad (not a sports guy) didn't want me to have to deal with the headaches of being a lefty. So the folks kept taking everything out of my left hand and placing it in my right. That's right, if it wasn't for my dad I'd be in the show throwing gas!!
  10. My boss and his family left for vacation in Jamaica last night. And me being the big dummy I am, volunteered to plow the business while he's away. Yeah!! How to spend a week plowing snow by Jake will be a best seller. Crap Crap Crap
  11. Packer game will be my first priority but I'll be flipping to the Brewers when ever I have a break in the action.
  12. Former Badger basketball player Duany Duany was always a favortie of mine. I'm not sure why (both of his parents were Profs at Indiana ?) but sometimes he was referred to as Doc Duany by the announcers. My middle name is Duane so my brothers, cousins, and friends started calling my Duany.
  13. MLB just told my computer that the polls are closed. Hope it was enough.
  14. Team Canada said, "Considering if you type it in wrong it will give you an error message, you'd think it's working? " That's kind of what I thought, but I'd hate to be wrong.
  15. That's the million dollar question, does it count. I can go a lot faster if I don't have to type in a real sequence. I'd hate to waste the vote if they don't count.
  16. Hey guys, On the whole valadation key thing on Corey's vote, if I just type in 000000 it works too. It goes to the next screen and say thanks for voting. So that means that counts right?
  17. Thank you for all of the hard work you put in Colby. You make us all little Mel Kiper jrs on the site, minus the whacked helmet hair.
  18. The sound was horrendous for the Sunday game of the Boston series. And now again tonight, though tonight isn't quite as bad as Sunday. I'm hearing to much crowd (back ground) noise. Kind of annoying.
  19. I think that the name of the wrecked ship is the Black Rock. A friend of mine had an awesome idea on that. Richard (that's the Spanish looking who never ages) was Ponce de Leon's first mate or at least a member of Ponce de Leon's second ship. Richard and the others are the survivors of that ship wreck but they did find the fountain of youth, hence he's always the same. I'm not sure that will be the answer, but it's a very interesting idea.
  20. No. The one caveat would be a trade that landed a legit #2 starting pitcher, which isn't going to happen soon.
  21. It must be because I have such an affinity for him, but in no way can I agree with trading Corey Hart. I just love everything the man does. I haven't watched a Brewer run the bases like him ever!! Paul Molitor is my favorite player going away and I can't even remember Pauly flying around like that ( I'm sure if I was 5 years older and the boys had been televised more I could). I'm just smitten with Corey. I think he's got a chance to stick around for a while. Maybe it's because he seems like a Midwest type player? Braun is so in love with Braun that he's destined to play in the big lights before it's all done. Prince has the prince of darkness as his agent. Even though Prince exudes character and other great intangibles, Boras will lead him to the biggest pay day period-- and that just physically can't be Milwaukee. Rickie and J.J. can't seem to step up to that top step. And while Corey is a notch below Prince and Braun is better too, I'd rather explore dealing them for a MAJOR blockbuster type before dealing Corey.
  22. It's always a terrible day at the track when a horse has to be put down. I'm just glad when they can put them down so quickly.
  23. A PS3 question for those in the know. What is the difference in the 40 gig PS3 ($400) and the 80 gig ($500) ? I keep hearing that the 80 gig is "mostly" reverse compatible for PS2 games. 1) ? Mostly compatable. What games aren't working? 2) Can you play original Play Station games in the PS3? Sometimes I like to bust out old sports games, like the baseball games to play a game at County Stadium. 3) Completley dumb question. Do you need memory cards? I'm guessing not. I'm thinking that you can save to the unit itself and that's part of the 40 gig/ 80 gig thing. Thanks for the help.
  24. Not that I know a feak'in thing about anything, but it's time to watch the ponies run! Taking a little jack from the Ho-Chunk Nation may take the edge off of losing Yo for a little bit. Here's how Doc Duany's laying down his hard earned cash.
