  1. I'd like to give it a try: Thanks!! jbpeyton@charter.net
  2. Why, we're just going to lose anyway. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. The following statement is completly bush league and I apologize for it in advance: Who's devestated now Junior, who's devestated now!!! How the once mighty have fallen. Thanks for the memories. Hope you can make it back to the bigs, and if not I hope you've taken care of your earnings.
  4. I was kind of hoping they'd let Bush start the first game. And hopefully we'd win it in the 11th and then Bush gets the cheap W and starts game 2. Although considering Dave sometimes has troble in his first inning of work that might've worked out badly for the Crew. My other thought was to have which ever stater is supposed to throw on the side start, maybe get that guy a cheap W with one inning of work.
  5. Manny Para & Brent Brewer... are who I'd like to pick. But my spidey sense are telling me Yo & Gwyn.
  6. When I read the title for this thread the light bulb went off and I thought that sounded like a great idea. As Pogo has said, the Brewers have been quite tight fisted with the prospects up to this point. But hopefully with our contender status changing, we may start trading a few guys to make a push sometime. Maybe we could loosen the rules a bit on the "Alumni Power 10-20" just to have a better list. And if they'd be eligable, I'd have to think Taubenheim & Eveland would be on the Power 50. Nice idea Crash.
  7. I keep hoping to see Tom Wilhemsen (sp?) show up on this thread some day.
  8. 1) Manny Para- If Ned's excited, I'm excited.ok,I've been excited since the beginging. It's about time Ned followed suit. 2) Angel Salome- Hoping the legs alright. Hoping the defense continues to improve. 3) Tony Gwyn- I'm not a huge fan, but I'm very curious. If he goes down and hits .320 in Nashville this year, is he the leadof hitter of the future despite the lack of power? 4) Mike Jones- I guess I can't leave the past behind. 5) Zach Jackson- Lucky number thirteen can never steer you wrong.
  9. Thank you for the recap SoCal. It's always appreaciated that the BF.net team takes the time to recap a lot of these pay chats. Loved the response on Dana. The chat stated that Angel was healthy. Is Angel healthy enough to have an invite to catch at the big league camp? I don't remeber seeing that anywhere.
  10. I'm sorry that this will sound dumb to some of you. But while the numbers only show that Suppan may be worth 2-3 wins over replacement value, you almost have to add 2-3 wins on top of that since Suppan won't be oppossing the crew. 6 wins isn't anything to sniffle at. Add that to Suppans history in the post season 3-3 era 3.00 is more than we've got on the current staff. Is all that worth 4yrs/ 40 million? I don't know. I'm alright with this potential signing, we don't look to have a lot of other options at the moment. See Claudio Vargas. And if (knock on wood) Yo and Carlos turn into to little stud ponnies at the MLB level within in the next season and a half maybe we can deal Suppan and his higher salary at the break in '08 for a bat. I know that's a giant stretch, but it's a thought.
  11. I thought of Ron Mexico, that always makes me giggle.
  12. 1. Braun - position player over pitching injury thing 2. Gallardo- Interesting to see how long till he sees Milwaukee 3. Inman- injury scares last season have taken some shine off 4. Parra- total man crush thing. If he's every healthy, look out 5. Zach Jak- Not down on him as some are 6. Rogers- last seasons super nova stretch has me going 7. Gillespe- Hope to see Cole in Huntsville this year 8. Angel- would be higher, but the ankle injury is SCARY!! 9. Jeffress- 100 mph? Ok I'll let it go this time. 10. Hurricane- Repeated success, even without a corked bat. 11. Fermaint- other prospects are scared of Chuck. 12. Denny Sarfate- destined to make in Milwaukee in ' 07. 13. Vinny- Mad Wisconsinite love. Number crunch not good. 14. Yohannis Perez-Hope hype is warrented, hope he's not 30 15. Brent Brewer- Curious if he'll still be a SS not season. 16. Tim Dillard- Jekyl n Hyde starts are a little worrisome. 17. Tony Gywn- Let's go crazy on the on base percentage. 18. Lorenzo Cain- wish the fall would've gone better 19. Brad Nelson- I'm not giving up until I have to. 20. Mike Jones- See the above description 21. Brendan Katlin- AA went better than I expected. 22. Mat Gamel- Where's the other T Mat, that's annoying 23. Ryan Crew- Versatility with pop. A new Billy Hall? 24. Josh Wapepah- Sinker baller who needs to right the ship. 25. Steve Hammond-Probably should've been higher, I'm dumb 26. Robert Hinton- Lit up the Arizona Fall League, impressive. 27. Steve Moss- Starting to lose the faith, bring me back man. 28. Andy Bouchie- Proably should be beneath Lou, oh well. 29. Luis Ramirez- Hope rookie league wasn't an abberation. 30. Captain Lou- If the average every returns, so will the love. Yah, that whole rereading thing might've helped. Sorry boys.
  13. In BBG's projection of the pitching staff, who is the long man? I know Denny was a starting pitcher for most of his minor league career, but it seems like that's been put to rest.
  14. I think MnBrew was talking about Stormy's first stop with the Brewers. He was picked up by the crew after being released by the Reds.
  15. Thanks for the answer Chris. I guess I didn't really have my thinking cap on.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  16. . I don't quite understand this sentence. Isn't Seidel a high school senior? I'm thinking signing with the Brewers for whatever, was his only choice. What am I not understanding?
  17. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Ebert! Colby, make sure you start putting his bottle in his left hand.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. As soon as Petey's little betting heart has made it's last beat, then he should be enshrined. Until that day, no. What Pete wants more than anything in this world, is to be in the hall. So for what he's done, he must not be allowed in, until he's gone to that big sports book in the sky. And on a side note, I think Shoeless Joe should be in. Same reasoning as little Petey.
  19. Actually doesn't Wilde write for the State Journal? Usually covers the Packers I think.
  20. Colby, or any other knowledgeable folk, what is the last date that players have to sign with the team that drafted them or they go back into the draft? I'm thinking that it's a week prior to the draft, which would make Tuesday the last possible day to sign. But obviously I'm not sure or I wouldn't be asking the expert. If that date is correct, we have 4 days left for stuff to happen. Will we see Drew or Weaver sign on the dotted line? I'd like to see them reenter the draft, it can only make our chances of one of the big four dropping to us. Any news on that front? What's the hold up with our boy Deik? I'm getting nervous!!! And concerning the Andrew Miller express, are we starting to talk about Manny money? I realize that Manny was a freak in how high his stock jumped. I believe Manny was thought to have become a mid-first round guy had he reentered the draft. Miller is being talked about as a 5-10 round guy. Here's to hoping we can bring both of them into the fold.
  21. If anyone has yet to head Mark Attanasio talk, this is my first time to hear the guy speak, his voice sounds like Woody Allen. I guess that shouldn't be to surprising since both guys are from NYC.
  22. Same here as with cricks. I stumbled onto the site when it was brewerfan.com. I was to dumb to figure out anything with the forums, so all I knew was the power 50. I checked back all the time to see a new one. That one feature gave this brewer fan hope for the future. All of the losing had gotten to me and I knew nothing of the minors. The knowledge I found with the Power 50 kept hope alive. Thank you Toby for all of the hard work you've done. Hope that part time is more than the phrase implies. Thanks again.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. I have to agree, Dougy is in line for some almost mad props. As everyone has said, it cost us nothing and we may end up with two more early picks for bench types. Shrewed is the word that keeps popping in my mind. I also believe it was a great move getting both Cruz and Machado off the 40 man without losing them. The nugget miner has done all right considering what he is up against. I'm also hoping he's got a little Ron Wolf on him, aside from screwing up the first round picks. Find some guys from nowhere, and lie, lie, lie to the media. Tell them everything but what your really going to do, i.e., trading Spivey and not taking a prospect type in the rule 5 draft.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. If you throw Kade to the AAA gods, what about Ricky? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif I don't think they will or should start Ricky at Indy, but other than his D? The guy is ripping up the southwest, that picking 2nd in the draft seems to make it a little easier.
  25. I don't pick up the Milwaukee a.m. radio, what is going on ? Is Rickie going to Beloit? If this is on another thread then I'm sorry for asking dum questions.
