  1. Salami time... or a blooper would be fine as well.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  2. Great Time for that 3rd of the 3TO, hammer one Russ!!!
  3. Yeah I guess I just forgot that their was a 1st/2nd wave that already merged in my mind. With Weeks jumping right into the fray and Gwynn not blooming yet the 2003 draft yielded less depth than I was hoping for. Lou may still be great, but I am concerned about Fermaint and Opdyke. 6-10 yielded some interesting arms and some of the lower picks may yield a player or two. Then in the 2004 draft we go for arms again until we get to Salome and then swing back in for pitchers in rounds 7-9. Just looking at the draft listing now, I see that we did take a HS SS in round 11. Lenny Leclercq, what do we know thus far about this guy? Nice to know that their is some SS talent this year, lets hope the best one drops to us.
  4. I had posted this in the ML board but thought it might be more appropriate here. I was arguing that we are about to graduate our first wave of prospects into MLB service and we haven't developed that 2nd wave all that well. These players will be needed to replace those that go *POOF* for some reason in the next 3 or 4 years. Here is the thread if you want to read the whole thing: p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...7774.topic And my last post: Are their others that I am not aware of? Are you concerned about the lack of a 2nd wave? Do we still need more pitchers?
  5. We said coming in that the biggest difference was going to come in the power category. Well it appears that is ALL there is to it. 35 fewer HRs correspond to the 37 fewer runs nearly exactly. Just thought that was too amazing not to comment on...
  6. The Cubs play 10 games at MP this year (approx. 1/8 of games) if they account for 75% of those (31000) they could accout for 310,000. 25 percent of the total would put the season mark at about 1.24 million. So probably more like 1/6 or 1/7 is more like it if you think the majority of Cubs tix are going to Chicago fans.
  7. I'm sorry I usually don't question the manager, but wake up Ned!!! Bennett is so bad hitting there is absolutely no reason to let him stay in there. Fine start him 2 out of 5 games, but when the game is on the line, try someone else please.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  8. I do, Wes has some sort of psychological impasse when it comes to the sixth and his manager punishes him by not being prepared for it. Once the game was tied Yost should have had the 'pen ready to go.
  9. Now he pulls him and the 'pen will give up all three runners...............................GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! What was a near-"quality start" will end up boosting his ERA again. Yost has to do better.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  10. Is it just me or does this happen nearly every time Wes pitches, why can't Yost figure it out???
  11. I am sure for those that settled in to watch these games it was invredibly frustrating, but jeez.......the doom and gloom here is pathetic. The team is still tied for 3rd with the 5th best record in the NL. Only 2 games out of the wild-card--losses happen, as lomg as they rebound and prevent it from becoming a 5-6 game losing streak all will be OK. Let's go WES!!!
  12. every time out he goes ok for 5 innings, then gets nailed in the 6th......... did he look to be tiring???
  13. If Sheets delivers for us we will have our 1st 3-game uptick of the year. Middle game of the series scares me with Obie against O. Perez (1.74 ERA). Hope Wes can get us thru 5-6 innings and Yost knows the proper time to make the switch...
  14. sure-fire DP on liner by weeks (with fielder running on 3-2 pitch) dropped then Nelson bloops a hit to drive in fielder. Squeeze bunt drives in weeks from 3rd, 4-2 going to bottom of 11th!!! Jones goes 5 giving up 5 hits and two runs, R. Miller goes 3 no hit innings, the Stewart comes on to pitch last 3 to get the win.
  15. AAA park in Madison Is that a possibility? I really think that could work well. I had always assumed that a park in Mad-town would be for a class A team in the Midwest League, but AAA would be phenomenal.
  16. Anyone notice Nance's line??? 4 K's in 1 1/3 innings--what more can he do in AAA? I'm with Al on this one, bring him up and use him properly and he will prosper. He has to be a better option than Vizcaino/Estrella/etc.
  17. Really good post Weapon!!! I'm hoping that the group gets promoted together to Indy so many of us will get the chance to catch them next year. Huntsville is just a little far away for many of the fans but I'm sure a bunch will make the effort to venture down to Indy. The excitement is buildinghttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  18. Is Pods resurgence in any way related to the current winning streak??? It never ceases to amaze me what a good leadoff hitter can do to a lineup. The last time the Brewers had a competitive team it was Listach. Hopefully we can count on Pods for a few more years. Trying to obtain a leadoff hitter is something many teams are after every year. Let's hope he continues his success for the next 2 years or so while our youngsters develop then we can trade him to a contender for more pitching!!!
  19. Looks like Helena needs 1 more win to clinch 1st half title!!! According to the above posted article they lead by 1 1/2 with 2 to play...Go baby brewers!!!
  20. Wow this is a heck of a team here in Helena!!! There are no park-effects here like in Adelanto, right??? 5 Regulars hitting above .336... Trofholz 15 steals, Palmisano with 9!!! Looks like they beat a pretty good pitcher tonite too--B. Mcarthy YTD ERA of 2.94 after giving up 7 earned in 6 innings? Hope they can repeat these stats at higher levels next year after they win championship!!!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
