  1. Don't be, he's was a significantly better hitter as a sophomore than Ray was a a junior. His swing isn't smooth, but he makes contact, which Ray never could.
  2. I like the pick, because he's a sure thing defensively with power potential. Now it's just a question of if he fulfills that promise. Will he hit like George Springer, or Kirk Nieuwenhuis?
  3. Good addition. Better hitter than Gamel, plus he can play all over the field. Short swing should allow him to function well as PH.
  4. For $5 million over two years, he was fine. Provided some value, and there were stretches in both 2018 and 2019 where he was the best reliever on the team. So your attempted cherry-pick doesn't work here. He was below replacement level, which means he literally provided negative value. Saying he was good for stretches is cherry picking. He had terrible seasons both years with the team.
  5. We thought it was a huge mistake last year when they went cheap on the rotation, and we were right. Losing Lyles like this is embarrassing. Its becoming clear that Attanasio has slashed the budget. The Brewers are always going to be a value based organization that doesn't overpay. That's the way David Stearns operates. I sort of thought that was pretty obvious by now. I would have done it personally, but not paying $16 million guaranteed to Jordan Lyles is FAR from embarrassing. That is absolutely the top of the market for a guy like Lyles with his track record. The fact that Lyles, Pomeranz and Moose have signed for over what most predictors said they would says a lot about the Brewers' talent evaluation. And it gives me hope that they will be able to continue to acquire guys who are undervalued or misused by other teams. Sorry, I forgot that if we don't penny pinch on starting pitchers, we can't make value based signings like the 2 year deal for the immortal Matt Albers. What an obvious and tremendous value the was.

  7. Catching instructor Charlie O'Brien is terrific, making this a perfect addition for the Brewers.
  8. Knebel and Pomeranz. Much easier to find a reliever than a stud SS. If Hader fades, it will be those 2 even if Hader is here.
  9. I assume people want to trade him, not cut him. Here could be the key to fixing the SS hole. Relievers have a short shelf life, especially those who rely on deception. Trading Hader now might prove to be genius.
  10. Saladino is injured. Also, San Antonio's possible playoff schedule could factor into the timing of some call ups.
  11. Grisham is a budding superstar, and an absolutely perfect fit for what we needed. He's a joy to watch.
  12. Dubon has a 796 OPS in AAA as a 25 year old. He's not even a prospect. Great trade for Stearns. Faria , like all split finger pitchers this year, is having trouble adjusting to the new baseballs. The balls will likely change again next year. I'm guessing he gets a shot at the rotation.
  13. Brewers are saying bullpen game for Wednesday now, but I could see that become Trey Supak instead. Wednesday lines up for him, and he's deserving.
  14. 1. The rotation is the root of all our problems. 2. No cashing in from Dubon trade..... scraps instead 3. What was the team's record in September? Outhustled. 1. Even with Woodruff out, we have 3 starters with sub 4 ERAs plus a fast developing Hauser, and Lyles. Lyles looks back on track after fixing his pitch tipping. 2. Dubon was a scrap. We got 2 scraps for him. Black has the look of the very common late developing late inning reliever. 3. The team took off in September because of Yelich, not because of Schoop. It could happen again. 4. The Aguilar trade opened the door to bring up Grisham, a potential superstar.
  15. 1- Trent Grisham 2- Brice Turang 3- Tristen Lutz 4- Ethan Small 5- Aaron Ashby 6- Trey Supak 7- Zack Brown 8- Bowden Francis 9- Alec Bettinger 10- Drew Rasmussen 11- Clayton Andrews 12- Luke Barker 13- Miguel Sanchez 14- Max Lazar 15- Jacob Nottingham 16- Mario Feliciano 17- Antoine Kelly 18- Carlos Rodriquez 19- Pablo Abreu 20- Micah Bello 21- Ernesto Martinez 22- Larry Ernesto 23- Eduarqui Fernandez 24- Eduardo Garcia 25- Noah Zavalos 26- Corey Ray 27- Justin Jarvis 28- Michelle Vasolotti 29- Victor Castanedo 30- Zhao Lun 31 - Carlos Roa 32 - Peyton Henry 33- Dylan File
  16. The rotation is quietly becoming the strength of the team. Cashing in Dubon now was a smart move. He won't hit enough. Last year, the team did poorly at the deadline. This year we did well.
  17. Within weeks he'll be the everyday starter and leadoff man. Huge stretch run addition!
  18. As a note, Dubon is 25. Thank you
  19. Dubon is 24 and still doesn't mash AAA pitching. Just like when we dealt Phillip's and Cordell, we're giving up nothing.
  20. I'd bring up Freitas who's been tearing the cover off the ball and play him or Grandal at 1B vs. lefties. Let's see if they don't use Faria to get a more established starter or now use Houser for that purpose. That's a good option, but better is use Braun as the RH half of the 1B platoon. Then call up Grisham to be the everyday LF and lead off man. Do it today.
  21. It's almost like Grisham read some of the silliness in this thread today and went to the ballpark angry tonight. A cycle plus a bonus home. He's amazing, and needs to be in the majors now.
  22. And another homer for Grisham And a run scoring single....... Wow And now a double. Grisham is making a mockery of AAA.
  23. He could be up in September for us and on the bench next year. With injuries to Braun/Cain/Yelich bound to happen, he plays next season. Grisham should be starting everyday in LF next year. Braun should be a bench player at this point. Grisham is making a mockery of AAA right now.
  24. The Padres may have asked about Grisham, but I bet it was a quick no. He's too perfect for what the Brewers need, a LF and a leadoff man. Padres can have Ray, he's a better fit in CF.
