  1. Agree, I can't see them giving starts to someone unproven like Gasser at this point, but I could see them trying Gasser out of the pen. Mejia hasn't capitalized on his opportunity, unfortunately.
  2. Gatewood and Bitonti is an interesting comparison. Both are tall Infielders drafted out of HS. However, they're also extremely different in that Gatewood's entire intrigue was his raw athletism, as he lacked established baseball skills. Bitonti, on the other hand, has an absolutely beautiful left-handed swing.
  3. Lol, now your expecting every prospect to Chourio? Sorry to tell you, we haven't signed any more Chourio's. Remember that whole wave that's at Wisconsin now? Huge rankings for guys like Garcia? Be realistic.
  4. I totally agree that there's signs of progress, just saying that Perez and Mendez are perfect examples of who our top 20 shouldn't be littered with international signings. We have actual prospects performing states side, no need for a DSL flavor of the week in our top 20.
  5. Perez , Mendez, and big ticket sign Kevin Euro are examples of Stearns revamped efforts. Much work needs to be done yet.
  6. The Brewers track record with international signings is abysmal. Rank accordingly. Remember when this board was all excited about Hedbert Perez and Hendry Mendez? The Brewers can't even get international signings to AA, much less the majors. Rank accordingly. I'm ecstatic we've landed an outlier like Chourio.
  7. That $3 million buyout on his contract will shrink next year's payroll. That should be figured into these deals too. Same with the Chafin deal. We didn't get an actual hitter, and hurt next years team. It was another disappointing deadline.
  8. His velocity is up a tick working in these shorter outings, and I'm guessing that's where he'll stay. It's too late in the year to try to stretch him out as a starter, and he no longer has to velocity to survive in that role. Could be a useful reliever in September.
  9. It's an upgrade, but it's also boring as can be. A band-aid.
  10. Also, hes simply having a bad year. Owen Miller is now free to play 2B if we need another body there. Make the deal simple, just Eloy.
  11. Interesting, but they could be getting promoted too. With Adams, it could be too make room for Brock Wilkin.
  12. I hope this gets done today. Jiminez is the hitter we need, He's the only good hitter that's truly available.
  13. Massive overpay? It's possible that both of those prospects are replacement level players.
  14. We can acquire other starting pitchers in the offseason, it's what we're good at. I'd think a young starter could be part of the packages we'd acquire in Burns and Woodruff deals. Jiminez fills a huge hole here, and could realize his true potential outside of that clueless organization.
  15. Interesting that now that the Brewers took their 1st long look at Wiemer in CF, they've decided to go with Wiemer in CF and Frelick in RF.
  16. A draft with a massive bat in Wilkin, 2 HS infielders with big potential at the plate, and a bunch of spin rate pitchers? Love it. Most exciting draft in a long time.
  17. They're also similar because of their competition. Boeve from the Summit League and Black from the Horizon League.
  18. Boeve is similar to Tyler Black. Black is a better athlete, but Boeve better bat to ball.
