  1. I'm guessing CCs negotiation with Attanasio will have more to so with money for the team than for money for himself. Counsel wants to win, and Attanasio needs to convince him that Mark cares about anything besides turning a profit.
  2. How hard is Tobias Myers throwing as a reliever?
  3. He might be Doug Melvin. Melvin literally closed the Dominican Academy, and used the savings to sign Eric Gagne to a 1 year/$10 million contract. Like all of Melvins free agent signings, he was cut before the end of the contract.
  4. Yeah, the only annoying part of the game was that it took Burnes 97 pitches to get through 5 innings.
  5. I was so relieved they actually did this. We already lost Peguero to overuse, and Payamps has lost his fastball from overuse. Close games and the 6 man rotation have made it tough to manage the bullpen.
  6. Bukauskas has a good chance of making the playoff roster. Fresh arm thatwas awesome at AAA in August and September, production born from the improvement in pitch quality of his sinker.
  7. They could also just release Anderson to bring up Mitchell or Wiemer. Wiemer has an 815 OPS versus lefties, and could still be part of the postseason roster if he finds himself before the end of the season.
  8. The 40 man roster issue is a non issue. The Brewers will begin the offseason with 8-10 openings, and Black will need to be added for the opening day roster next year anyway.
  9. Tyler Black out of the Nashville lineup tonight, and they just had an off day Monday. Is he getting the call? Is the Brian Anderson madness about to end? Did I mention Black has an OPS over 1300 across his last 13 games?
  10. Yeah, if Yelich goes on the IL, I'd bet it's Black who gets the call. This offense needs him. Donaldson shouldn't start versus RHPs.
  11. Again, there's no concern with the 40 man spot, as the Brewers will have more 40 man spots available than they've had in years. Now, your choices are Black, who might have a Sal Frelick like impact, or Rowdy. If Black doesn't hit, then he is Rowdy, except with speed and versatility. If Black does hit, and he is red hot in AAA, then he's exactly what this sad Brewers offense needs. It would be ridiculous not to give him a shot considering how bad this Brewers offense is.
  12. We'll have plenty of open spots on the 40, there almost no additions. Yes, I agree it's only 10 regular season games, but also the playoffs.
  13. Tyler Black might still get a shot before the year is over. He's scorching hot at AAA, and adds speed and versatility to the roster.
  14. Do you know where Ashby's velocity was at?
  15. Should have ran a double steal, no need to bunt.
  16. I don't think more relievers would have helped him, as he never used the fresh armed Vierra today.
  17. Many in this thread are promoting Chourio straight to the bigs next year. He has a 652 OPS in September after a 718 OPS August, in AA. I love him, but it would be ill advised to rush him up. He'd struggle much like Wiemer, though for different reasons.
  18. Wiemer will continue to start versus lefties, he's still an important part of the team.
  19. As a Megill believer, I really enjoyed this article, and had missed watching Megill's recent outings, so I was unaware of his raised armslot. It would be huge if this huge dude put it together to close out this season.
  20. Hopefully Adrian Houser can finish strong. He's the starting pitcher to deal in the offseason. Attach a prospect or 2, or maybe a reliever, and get an actual hitter.
  21. They showed some confidence in him today, and Megill rewarded it. I hope he can keep throwing strikes, the stuff is there.
  22. Biloxi's schedule runs through September 17th this year. Mis should continue to start there through the end of their schedule, and then move to Nashville for a start or 2, their schedule runs through September 24th. As others have suggested, Gasser is the one who should get bullpen consideration. However, I continue to have (likely irrational) hope for Megill.
  23. Nah, we could contend next year with Burnes if we add a real bat. Then take the draft pick. Try to do in the draft what we did this year. The extra pick gives us a huge pool to work with. I don't want other teams prospects, we have our own.
  24. Goal for the offseason is the same as the last 2 years. Add a bat. I hope they don't strike out a 3rd time. Only deal Burnes if we can't add a bat. We have prospects, we don't need to be trading for other teams prospects.
