    The problem is we've already about abandoned the strategy that produced the good teams in 18-19. Those teams including a blossoming Yelich acquired in a huge prospect for established player trade. We haven't made a deal like that again. It also included a major free agent signing in Grandal. That's another avenue we now ignore. Now we're stuck with a mediocre team, while this thread suggests we deal our best players instead of adding to the team.

    The team has had a similar roster the last 3 years, one of the 3 years was great and the other 2 not so much. Last year included career years from a bunch of pitchers. That's the outlier. The previous years are irrelevant be cause it was a completely different roster Going forward, the Brewers are hurt by the fact that Peralta can't physically handle a starters workload. That will help the bullpen though, and that area needs help because Stearns has struck out there the last few years.

    Again, how is 18 or 19 even slightly relevant? We have a completely different roster. Prime Yasmani Grandal coming back?

    Who cares what they win in 18 and 19, this is a completely different roster. There on pace to win 84 games, but they've been a losing team for months, hence why I projected 81-84 wins.

    The last few seasons? They went 39-41 in 2020. They'll finish with around 81-84 wins this year. If we think there was an outlier, it was last year. They'll need to add good players to both win and draw fans next season.

    Sure, there will be Brewers that bounce back next year. Also, there will be players who have a down year. What we need is better players.

    Severino isn't even a good AAA player. The team needs to find a starting catcher, with Caratini the back up.

    For the first time in years, ticket sales have gone stagnant. Attanasio was enabled to skate by with a weak payroll because Brewer fans were happy with a competitive team. Now, if a significant move isn't made in the offseason to upgrade the team, AmFam will be a ghost town next year. That could be a free agent, but more likely a prospect for big salary veteran trade. The Brewers were sleeping at the wheel while the Cardinals stole Arrenado, and it's killed us. Our turn. With numerous OF prospects in AAA, a long with an 3 starting caliber OFs on the big club, this should be easy. Get a star. We don't need to change our offensive approach, what we really need is better players.

    Wow, CC is finally getting it. He not only has Hiura in the lineup, but he's also finally surrounded him with RH hitters. Also, it might be too late, but CC has finally realized McCutchen is a scrub. I wonder if Attanasio has finally loosened the reigns? Gallen has been awesome, but he's due fit a let down.

    I wonder who gets sent out when Brosseau gets back? I hope they just cut McCutchen.

    At least we have our best lineup in tonight. No McScrub or Urias gives us a chance, though Merrill Kelley has been awesome.

    Bush simply is a very pedestrian pitcher. He's really no different that Gustave.

    The reason people think CC didn't understand reverse splits is because he doesn't start Hiura versus RHP.

    With a bunch of those starts coming versus LHP. No one here is asking for him to start versus LHP

    If Rowdy is out, then yes. If Rowdy's knee is OK, then you know CC will go with Tellez at 1st and McScrub at DH. It's depressing.

    Play the man. I know it might seem crazy to CC, but I've always thought that it's a good idea to play your best offensive player.

    Always been a great relief pitcher? This guy is the definition of a has been. Over the past 5 years he's pitched just 42 innings including the postseason, and carried a 7.29 ERA. Stop burning money on this scrub and let him walk. He was acquired because of his tricky contract made it seem like the club wasn't slashing payroll. The crew had a PR problem, and this was the solution. That's it.

    Yeah, and even more amazing when you consider how much time he missed with injury. He's in the majors with just 472 minor league at bats.

    AA starts 2 journeymen in the OF every night. There was plenty of room for Peters.

    He has a 738 career OPS. He's better than he's been this year. His 1.2 WAR this year sadly makes him one of the better players on the team.

    McCutchen isnt really a better option in LF or RF than Taylor. Their OPS has been similar all year, and Taylor has a huge advantage defensively. Also, Taylor has a future here, where McCutcheon is done. Keep Taylor involved even if he isn't starting in CF.

    He does bring speed and on base potential, but he's actually poor defensively at any position. He doesn't have a ton of experience in the OF, so he could improve, but he's not there yet.
