  1. Suter matched Hendricks pitch for pitch. Excellent job! Very impressed with Phillips, love the approach and hustle!
  2. No trade: Hader, Woodruff, Brinson, Phillips, Burnes, Ortiz, Bickford, Erceg, Gatewood, Diaz, F. Peralta. Long list, but I prefer the Packer approach of draft and develop.
  3. Cooper goes 0-4 with 3 k's, I hope that the Yankees will cut him some slack and give him an extended look. First major league game, playing for the Yankees in Fenway against the Red Sox, I can only imagine the butterflies he was having.
  4. My choice would be to DL Thames. DFA Franklin and Reed to clear space, and bring up Cooper and Wren. Why not Phillips? 52 K's in 148 AB's at AAA. Whoever they brought up won't see a ton of action, so go with the two guys most likely to at least put balls in play vs. major league pitching in a limited role. Exactly! I would hate to see Phillips, Brinson or Cordell brought up just to sit on the bench, Wren is a MLB 4th outfielder and would be a very good one I think, solid D in all three positions, good speed contact hitter. They are playing Cordell at 3B just to get Wrens' bat in the lineup at CS. Speaking of which, does anybody know what kind of D he has at 3rd? If I am a MLB GM and looking for a future 1B for my club, I would call DS and see what he would want for Cooper, not saying he would be an al-star, but the kid passes the eye test for me enough to give the Brewers a good relief pitcher to see if he translates to majors, which again I think he will if given the chance. Franklin=Sogard One of the two, not both. Micheal Reed, Had such high hopes and still look at the Shuckers box score everyday to see how he's doing. And not well to answer that. This kid needs a change of scenery. I understand why the decision was made to send him to AA, but you know it had to hurt his confidence. I even thought he might be a great candidate to take a Thames route to the majors. Just my two cents! Finally, I would like to say thank you to all the mods and members at this site. I don't post a lot, but am here a couple of times a day to keep check on my team in greatest sport there is! Always entertaining and informative, even if some post get a little persnickity! Thanks to all of you!
  5. As a 9-5er, I take no offense to what Cravy said, we do treat each other like humans in our jobs. We, as a society promote performance as the measurement of how a well a person does in their chosen profession and a good performance is rewarded with a promotion. Cravy and Scahill did just that, instead they get the boot due to politics. Jungmann, I can understand, former 1st round pick, want to give him quite a few chances before you part ways. However, Barnes and Millone? Barnes has options and does have a future with this club, going to CS to do some more work after his spring would not have been viewed as a slap in face. Millone, I just don't get it. If you wanted a lefty, what was wrong with Suter, who again, performed better! Cravy called them out on what he felt was a breach of performance based societal norms. There are times to let things slide, but in this situation he has the facts to back up his assertion and so does Scahill. Sorry guys, but America has become a country where principles are only applied when its convenient. Poorly handled by management, if this had been handled right, this would not be a story.
  6. Brewers Record: 68-94 Playoffs: No Brewers MVP: Braun Brewers CY Young: Davies Brewers ROY: Wren First player traded: Peralta Surprise player: Pina Disappointing players: Thames, Arcia and the bullpen World Series: Indians over Cubs in 7
  7. That lineup is the stuff of a campfire horror story! So sorry Jimmy!
  8. This puts the Mets trade to shame! Plan B was MUCH better DM!
  9. I almost spit tea everywhere! Poor kid, that will follow him the rest of his life.
  10. that should go for anyone on the 25 man roster.
  11. nice K there Scotter, looked like he was swinging a towel!
  12. I don't mind the Dominguez pickup, worth a shot. The DFA of Wang is just strange. There must be something else about Wang I don't know. All the time and effort last year to keep him in the system and just drop him this year? What irritates me the most is you mean to tell me that Broxton, Cotts, Centeno, Perez, Peterson or Schafer have a future with this team? I know Wang is not going to be the next Koufax, but come on, 1 year and DM sees him as more expendable than the others I listed above? Melvin needs to be drug tested, the more I think about this, the iller I get!
  13. Record: 74-88 Playoffs: No MVP: Lucroy Surprise: Scooter proves the naysayers wrong, Davis continues to improve, Jeffress becomes the closer by July. Disappointment: Krod, Broxton, Cotts become gas cans. Henderson never regains form. Fiers comes down to earth. Nelson struggles to adjust. Garza has a long DL stint. Lind and Ramirez spend more time on the DL than on the field. All Star: Lucroy Bold Prediction: Lohse and Gomez are traded by August
  14. Except for the mistake to Valbuena, I thought Jeffress looked good, speed and movement.
  15. Thank you WTP! I had high hopes for Logan, getting adjusted after his first year he had a great spring. I was anticipating much more from him. At best, he appears to be just a late inning defensive replacement. I see the Royals are looking for outfield help, how about a reunion with Nori Aoki!
  16. Not saying it' a make or break but these are big years for Bradley and Delmonico to take the big step as legit prospects. Hobbs Johnson is interesting just because the kid has a baseball name!
  17. Record: 82-80 All Star: Gomez, Lucroy, Gallardo. Braun has the numbers but is blacklisted. Surprise: 1B is not the blackhole it was last year. Disappointment: Davis cools down and by june fall into a platoon with Schafer, who does surprisingly well. Playoffs: No, misses out by 2 games NL: Braves, Nationals, Cards, Pirates, Dodgers AL: Angels, Rangers, Tigers, Rays, Orioles World Series: Angels over Dodgers
  18. While I do agree with you that it boils down to pitching, i don't quite believe Bradley and Jungmann can be categorized as failures yet. While Bradley has questions, Jungmann seems to be what many scouting reports claimed, a good middle of the rotation "innings eater" with good, not great, stuff. You are right on Rogers, he went from the disappointment to failure category this year. However, and maybe this is a glass half full viewpoint, while young, I'm hopeful that Thornburg and Nelson can continue the success each had at the end of last year, throw in a healthy Burgos, a more seasoned Hellweg, an upcoming Ariel Pena and David Goforth, and Peralta is still just 24. A very good rotation could be developing.
  19. Your Brewer fan card has been revoked. LOL! I look at this Series as I do most presidential elections, LESSER of two evils! That was great AZBrew!
  20. Don't care for the Cards, but DESPISE the Red Sox. Everytime I turn on ESPN, it's something about Boston and what really annoys me is the whole "Beard" angle! Hope the Cards sweep the series with 4 no hitters!
  21. Melvin should recognize that about his manager and make the appropriate adjustments to the roster or get a new manager!
