  1. Does anyone know why Randolph isn't being considered? He's the guy I want, with Valentine coming in second.
  2. I agree with dadofandrew, and I think a lot of people severely underestimate the hit the offense will take if/when Prince leaves. Hopefully it is balanced out with (much) better pitching.
  3. I'm not opposed to having a non-HOF or non-WS winning player honored with a number retirement, but in this case I say no as well. Although Sheets is probably my favorite Brewer ever, he just wasn't good enough for long enough (yes due to injuries, but injuries are part of the game).
  4. I have an extra 2010 Yount, would like to trade for 2010 Aaron. Also have two extra 2009 Jason Kendall bobbles, still need all other 2009 bobbles.
  5. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I seem to remember Dan Plesac playing first base for the Brewers in a situation like this.
  6. I'd like that photo as well if I'm not too late. Thanks. dsfastball AT yahoo.com
  7. Happened to see this: http://www.examiner.com/x...arell-on-NBCs-The-Office I personally think it would be awesome to bring in Bill Lumberg or David Brent to take over for Michael Scott. Thoughts?
  8. As I understand it, since this was a judgement call (just like a ball/strike call) it cannot be appealed to another ump unless Joyce does not have a good view of the play and declines to make a call. He could have asked another ump if they thought the ball was not secured, but can't appeal whether the runner beat out the throw or not. And he did say later that he just thought the runner beat the throw, there was no question about possession of the ball.
  9. Hello, I received this cap (size L/XL) as a gift and stupidly ripped off the tag and stickers before realizing it's too big for me. http://www.amazon.com/Mil...TY-Stretch/dp/B0031SIT42 The cap has been worn once, and is in new condition besides missing the tags/stickers. I wear a 7 3/8 New Era cap and it's too big for me, so this is for someone with a pretty big melon. I'd like to trade it for the Hank Aaron bobblehead from this year, or I'd be open to other bobbles from this year or last year. I have pretty much all the bobbles through 2008. PM if interested. Thanks!
  10. With Windows XP, you can use any recovery disk as long as it's the same version. As long as you have the cd-key that is on the license sticker you should be fine. I believe it's the same with Vista. As for a repair installation, I've done this many times and all it does is replace system files, it doesnt mess with anything else so you shouldnt lose any data. However it is possible to do a manual system restore (not reinstallation) by booting up you machine with Knoppix or any other bootable cd/dvd. AVG has a free one at http://www.avg.com/ie-en/avg-rescue-cd. All you have to do is replace the registry files with the backed up files in system restore and the machine should then boot (unless it's a hardware problem, what's the exact bluescreen error?). I've done it many times with XP, never yet with Vista but it should work. This link tells you how to do it in XP, can't find a link for Vista. However I think it's much easier to use the linux gui rather than command line as this instructs. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545. This process does exactly what Sytem Restore does, without having to boot up.
  11. If that's all you can get for Fielder, then you just let him play out the next two years and walk. I'm not arguing that you could get more, because I wouldn't be surprised if that was all they could get. The Brewers always seem to have bad timing with these sorts of things, while other teams make out like bandits. A 20 year old AA player with upside and 2 type prospects may still be better than rolling the dice on a late first round pick and a sandwich pick. A team rarely gets equal value when an elite level player leaves via trade or free agency but in the case of trading for minor leaguers you may have little more surety in the quality of the return versus the even bigger crapshoot of the draft. I pretty much agree with RockCo. I'd let him walk as well unless we get at least one truly premier prospect. But it will all depend on where we are in the standings too. If it's a given he won't return to the Brewers, I'd package Prince with Gamel this year before his value begins to sink.
  12. I think there's a topic somewhere about Target Field, but I couldn't find it. I was able to go to the home opener on Monday and thought I'd post my impressions and a few photos. I absolutely loved the stadium, and thought it was extremely well done. Other than the fact that there is no roof (which of course is huge) I thought it was every bit as nice as Miller Park, maybe better. I especially loved the location right downtown, and that it was really not difficult at all to find parking. I paid $13 to park in a ramp about three blocks away. We were lucky in that we were sitting very near where the pennant flags were being raised before the game, and got to see and guys like Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Jack Morris, Frank Viola, etc. Plus my sister ran into Paul Molitor and got a photo with him. Very cool. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh204/danslama/b3.jpghttp://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh204/danslama/b2.jpghttp://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh204/danslama/b1.jpg
  13. I got to fix this kind of thing during the summers when I was in high school. Yay for me. Sounds like probably tree roots or something, is it an older house with cast iron pipes? You should run a "snake" down the main sewer line, or whatever main line the shower and toilet drain into. If you don't mind getting a little dirty you can buy a cheap one at Menards or Home Depot for maybe $20 or $30. Just run it down there and jerk it around real good, that'll probably help. Or you can hire a plumber and have them do it for you with a big machine that will do a much better job. As for Draino, it'll work ok for very small things like a slow draining tub or something but this is clearly a main line problem. The stuff that works much better is the really hardcore stuff. I forget what it's called but it's a black liquid and the bottle is sold inside a plastic bag, and they have it at Menards.. But again, you need to actually clean out the main line.
  14. My vision has always been a little off (I'm actually nearsighted in my left eye and farsighted in my right), but until about several years ago was fine for everyday life but as a fastpitch softball player my hitting kept going downhill until I realized I had to do something about it (I could no longer see the seams and had to rely on guessing the pitch). Got a pair of glasses and could see clearly, but had absolutely zero depth perception. Went and got contacts and have been wearing them ever since, just night and day difference from the glasses. It took probably 2 hrs to get the contacts in my eyes the first time and was a huge pain for a couple weeks, but that goes away. I don't really have a point I guess, and I've always been a Corey Hart fan, but he should have figured this problem out in the offseason. Maybe Edmonds starting in right might not be a bad idea.
  15. I've used the free version of AVG for a few years now, very happy with it. free.avg.com
  16. I read through this, and some parts of the plan I like very much, but I think having the top 40 prospects available to the highest bidder defeats the purpose of the draft. I suppose you could regulate it a bit by saying each team can sign only one player or something like that. This is essentially the polar opposite of what many would consider the best solution - a worldwide draft. I do like the idea of fewer players drafted overall and players receiving money for college if they don't make it to the majors.
  17. I think everybody wanted a roof on that stadium. I usually make it to a couple games at the dome every year (usually vs Brewers but not always) and I couldn't go to a game without having a Dome Dog. I have home-opener tiks for Target Field and am excited to see if the new dogs can compare, not to mention it'll just be cool to be at the first official game at the new stadium which I didn't get to do at Miller Park.
  18. Weeks. And I believe he will not be eligible for this thread by the end of the 2010 season. I also remember being obsessed with Rob Deer back in the late 80's.
  19. Weird, huh? http://cache1.asset-cache.net/xc/97244434.jpg?v=1&c=NewsMaker&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF878921A343B2C87A49D8F54A21D159E1520810D7F4A775329B8DBE810E23A8E12619F4 from gettyimages.com

  21. I just take mine in the shower with me, wash with shampoo and the hottest water you can handle, rinse and then let drip dry. I've done this for years with many different types of caps and have never had a problem.
  22. I think maybe you all have forgotten about www.RealUltimatePower.net. This site is cool, and by cool I mean totally sweet.
  23. I think Joey Meyer had the biggest hype. I remember reading in the 1987 Brewers yearbook this line: "Joey Meyer and home runs are as perfect a match as bacon and eggs." Nuegebauer had a lot of hype, as did Mieses, Jones, and Krynzel (although Krynzel is one guy I was never high on. I will admit however that I was really mad the day Ryan Braun was drafted, so I can occasionally be wrong about these things.)
  24. Sad day for me. I've been secretly holding out hope for him to return to Milwaukee. I can honestly say he is/was my favorite Brewer ever.
