  1. I had a feeling tonight was going to be godawful right away when Daron mentioned Sheets going on the disabled list. I was actually getting a little dillusional watching Helling pitch. I noticed that he pitched like absolute crap the first two innings, but I kept saying to myself, "only three more and he's done...he goes five and we have a chance." Well, I could handle Helling collapsing. I was desperately hoping anyone other than Santos would come in. Eveland was less than impressive. Then I saw Ohka and was wondering how his next start was going to be. At that point, I turned on The Whole Nine Yards. I look at the box score of this game, and there aren't a whole lot of positives. With Sheets gone, I don't know as though the Brewers can get the 18 wins that they need to reach 82. It looked like a possibility halfway through yesterday's game. It's amazing how quickly things can change in 24 hours. I feel a little better, this was my first depressed post. Ah hell, tomorrow's another day.
  2. Brewers got a run on an RBI groundout by Overbay. Lee struck out to end the inning.
  3. Well, it looks like the game is blacked out in Soutwestern Wisconsin. Any others? EDIT: Not only that, AM 1450 has high school football on tonight. I am officially Brewerless. I guess I'll have to watch meaningless football.
  4. I say yes, and that he should have been in a couple years ago.
  5. I always thought Cabrera was a third baseman in the minors too. I think you're right BSCR. Heck, I'd move him permanently now to get Lowell out of the lineup.
  6. Juan Encarnacion at 3B? Is that a mistake?
  7. I had never thought of Ted Simmons as a Hall of Famer. I had never actually looked at his career stats. After reading that link and his lifetime stats, I say yes.
  8. Marquis with a leadoff single. Talk about a slap in the face. Is it just me of does LaRussa look a little like the Penguin? http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2004/10/27/1098856324_6219.jpg http://www.batman-superman.com/batman/img/penguin1.gif
  9. With Isringhausen coming in for the ninth, that DP killed our best last shot.
  10. Why not pinch-hit Miller for Moeller here? I'm confused.
  11. I hate good teams. They make me sad. This series may hurt our wildcard hopes, but 82-80 is still within reach. I believe in magic rainbows because I'm an optimist.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Bill and Daron brag up the defensive schemes put in place by Rich Dauer, but I think the Cardinals are way better. It seems that every ball thats hit hard by the Brewers is lined right at a Cardinal player. Bad hop...or something for Jenkins in right.
  13. Daron mentioned Edmonds's batting stance. He's always had a stance with his legs far apart, but to me it looked like it was a lot more open. I always thought Edmonds had a closed stance. Fairly unimportant, but intriguing. By the way, Jenkis is en fuego.
  14. I knew negotiations weren't going well for Tampa Bay and Young. This is the first I've heard of this. It's an intriguing possibility. I think the idea is a bargaining chip for his negotiators. If Young were to go JUCO, roughly how long would the D-Rays have to sign him? Isn't it the same case as it was with the Orioles and Adam Loewen, where they signed him a few days before the draft?
