  1. I know I became a big Curtis Granderson fan this season. He's like Detroit's version of Jimmy Rollins.
  2. I went to their Christmas concert in Madison a couple of years ago, and it was absolutely freakin' awesome. I loved every second of it. I doubt you'll regret any minute of being there. I want to go to their spring concert very badly. If you could sit in the first row, do it. At the one I was at (I don't know if this is a common thing or not) one of the band members just up and gave a guitar to a kid. I wish I would have been that kid.
  3. this afternoon's send off brought a tear to my eye. Mine too. As Jenkins was walking off the field, I thought back 10 years ago when I stayed up until well after midnight (I was 12 at the time) listening to Jenkins's first game on the radio. He's been a favorite of mine ever since. I got the chance to speak with him once and I told him that story, he laughed a little bit and smiled. He was just the nicest guy and a great person to watch for the last decade. He helped get me through some crappy seasons, and if he doesn't come back, I'm going to miss him. I'd love to see him back again, but if not, best of luck Geoff!
  4. Seeing the fans wave the rally towels looked really cool and added some excitement. Exactly! The entire game felt like a playoff game and the rally towels added to that.
  5. Is the only issue with these things the color and content of them? Sure it would have been nice if they were blue or had something screen printed on them, but I was at the game last night and I thought it looked really neat when everyone was waving them. My only beef is it seems that the crowd is always completely dependent on the marquees to show any kind of emotion. No one waves the towel unless they're told, and no one makes any noise unless they're told. That was my problem with last night.
  6. To echo what Toby said, not making 82 wins would be simply pathetic. I can handle losing by one game. Another non-winning season will just tick me off.
  7. I'm going to the game tonight. Here's hopin' they pull this one out! Who else is going?
  8. I'm going to throw my guess in for 85 as well. I think that there is a really small chance (less than 1%) that either the Cubs or Brewers take the WC You're probably right, but if we even pick up a couple of games on SD in the wild card standings before the final series of the season, it could make those four games that much more valuable. I know the Dodgers and the Phillies have to suck too, but I'm crossing my fingers. The Phillies usually tank it somehow and San Diego and LA don't play each other the rest of the season, however they play the Rockies six times and we're tied with the Rockies. It would take a lot, but don't discount anything too early.
  9. I like Brian Anderson a lot as well. He can be funny but isn't overbearing either. I like how he's serious about the game and doesn't get overly excited too often. I like a little composure. I hope he sticks around for a good long time.

  11. My roommates and I decided we wanted to try all the New Glarus beers that we could find. We were all fans of Spotted Cow so we figured the rest would be pretty good too. We were wrong. They have a lot of beers that just plain taste like crap. The only ones that i enjoyed were Totally Naked and Yokel. The others were either bad or something I could only drink one of. The hardest one to drink was their Hearty Hop. It was just a bit too overwhelming.
  12. You're brother went to Platteville? That looks like the pac to me Yeah, it's the PAC. He graduated from Platteville last spring. Actually, I'm a senior(ish) at Platteville now. Are/were you a Pioneer, Stoops?
  13. I'm the one on the left. http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v74/48/11/1604640061/n1604640061_11682_1121.jpg http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v54/4/73/219701744/n219701744_30927386_7945.jpg Me again (on the left) at my brother's graduation. http://photos-d.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sctm/v71/2/29/184804568/n184804568_30886975_3227.jpg
  14. Snakes, and only snakes. I can't think of anything else I'm afraid of at the moment, but snakes just scare the hell out of me.
  15. It's easy for me. The Brewers without a doubt. The rest of my family is watching the Packers so I'll still probably know what's going on.
  16. 12" Honey Oat Subway club cheddar cheese lettuce tomato spinach cucumber red onion ranch brown mustard Now I'm going to try ranch and southwest sauce on it.
  17. I didn't make it, I got it from somewhere, but honestly can't remember where. I made it for one of the threads on here, exorcism or something like that
  18. I'm not sure why, but all of a sudden I feel really really good about this series and the entire roadtrip. I feel all giddy!
  19. For about four days now... "More Than a Feeling" by Boston. I'm OK with that though.
  20. It's "Bring Sally Up" and I'm pretty sure it's by Moby.
  21. The IGT is up, I am working out a few kinks, but other than that its mostly done! It looks WOOGILICIOUS! Welcome back Woogie!
  22. "Well, I believe in the soul, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days." -Crash Davis
  23. 1. I will wear a Brewers hat every day. 2. I'm shaving my head tonight. 3. I will eat brats for every meal of the day (until I run out) 4. I'll eat Beerios each morning. No better way to start your day than with cereal and a buzz. 5. Once my summer job is over, I'll start my postseason beard.
  24. How dumb does that Carlos Lee for Podsednik deal look now for the Sox? They won the World Series. I'd take that.
