  1. Five months after graduating, I finally was offered a job and it's in the Milwaukee area. I have a couple weeks to find a place to live and I was wondering if anyone here had any good ideas or suggestions. I've been browsing Craigslist, Rent.com. and all those good site, but I'm still not sure. I'm not from Milwaukee and I don't know if any areas are better to live in than others. My fiance is from Sussex, and she suggested living in Menomonee Falls, Germantown, or Butler, but staying away from West Allis. I'm starting completely from scratch and am open to any help.
  2. Pizza and beer on a warm sunny afternoon.
  3. I was hoping to go out in the next couple weeks. My only thing is I'm sometimes not sure when to start. I love getting out, hiking in the woods and frying up morels. Delicious.
  4. Looking at it again, I think you're right. I haven't seen enough of each to really be able to tell the difference without seeing their uniform numbers.

  6. Invader got them both right. The one batting before the photo of Cain should be Escobar. I can't really remember because I took photos of each from the same vantage point.

  8. I got back from my trip to Arizona yesterday and I've spent most of today going through all the photos I took. I thought I would share some of them here. It was my first prolonged use of my new camera and I was really excited. I took about 500 pictures. A few quick thoughts though: there were a few players I thought looked very good. Hart, Hardy and Duffy looked good both in the plate and in the field. Bush gave up six hits in four innings, but I thought his pitches looked good and got some pretty horrible swings as well. I got my first look at Lorenzo Cain. The guy is lanky but he looks so fast and smooth in the field. Weeks looks like he's bulked up over the winter, and Prince does indeed look slimmed down. Hardy looked a little bigger and seemed to be a bit faster too, but that just might have been me. This was my first trip to Spring Training, but my fiance enjoyed it and was already talking about going back next year. A lot of the time, I was wandering around wondering if people I saw were from BF.net. We stayed in Flagstaff (also went to the Grand Canyon) and were able to go to only one game, but hopefully I can meet some of you another time. http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178107_304505.jpg http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178111_8198843.jpg http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178114_7090521.jpg http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178115_4333417.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178117_5897143.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178120_1593458.jpg http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178121_2792647.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178125_4283594.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178141_2549072.jpg http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178143_5518186.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178208_2498408.jpg http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178128_2050641.jpg http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178132_4735994.jpg http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178260_212638.jpg http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178259_6411604.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2681/4/73/219701744/n219701744_33178261_139831.jpg

  10. I'm leaving in less than 12 hours and I am really excited! Going to the game on Monday against the Cubs, don't know my seats yet, but hopefully I'll run into some BF.netters.
  11. My group is leaving on Saturday night after I get done with work at 7 p.m. We're driving in shifts and hope to make it in about 25-30 hours depending on what we stop to see and where. We're going to the Monday game, so we're not in a big hurry. I'm a bit concerned because no one else is worried about finding a place to stay. I am, but don't seem to be making any headway. Anyone know of any cheaper options outside of the Phoenix area?
  12. Myself, my fiance, and two of our friends are going to be heading down to Spring Training, hopefully arriving late on the 15th. We're driving from Platteville and leaving as soon as we can on the 14th. I think we're staying through the 20th. I've never been to Arizona and I'm really excited. We're planning on going to the Brewers-Cubs game on the 16th and seeing the Grand Canyon. I was wondering if anyone knew the best/cheaper area to stay? I read Tempe before. Any other suggestions? Anyone know of some really good places to eat or visit besides games?
  13. You know what? I sat in the Buckethead section for the exact same game. Go figure.
  14. If the Brewers were to sign Perez, I can't imagine him being in the rotation. He'd almost have to be the long man in the pen, and he'd probably be the third option behind Villanueva and McClung. Also, I wouldn't want to sign him for much more than the minor-league deal that the Nationals signed him to, so I doubt he'd accept.
  15. I enjoy it quite a bit. The reply of Hot Stove in the morning gets a little old, but I can't really complain. Last week I watched Mike Cameron's four-homer game and The Seasons for 1982. The rest of my family doesn't like it as much as I do, so I don't watch it as much as I'd like.
  16. Catalanatto? Is this 2000? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif He's signed at $4M this year with a $2M buyout for 2010. Now, I'm a little unclear about this. If he's waved, the team that selects him is responsible for the remainder of his salary, right? If he clears waivers and is simply released, would Texas be on the hook for the salary? Because, I can't see any team claiming him at that price.
  17. Jamie, you'll probably be distressed to hear this, but my father embraces squirrels. He likes watching them craftily steal seed from his bird feeders. He likes to laugh when the jump around all nimbly-bimbly. Dad needs help.
  18. OK, I saw the replay on SportsCenter this morning and I didn't see Iguodala's hand get in there. Of course, I woke up at 4 a.m. and watched it half-asleep...and didn't watch it again on YouTube... Poor execution on my part.
  19. My question is, if he fumbled the ball on his own and regained control while still moving, shouldn't he have been called for traveling?
  20. I can't help but think of the Monty Python twit Olympics routine when I see twitter talk. Hard to take it seriously when all I can think of is that sketch. Upper Class Twits!
  21. If all it takes is a minor league deal, then of course. Do it yesterday. Can't have too many pitchers.
  22. I made this one two years ago. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/JumpinMacFlash/Brewmore.jpg I also made a few player combos: Turnbow and Cordero http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/JumpinMacFlash/Turdero.jpg Mench and Jenkins http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/JumpinMacFlash/Menchkins.jpg Estrada and Miller http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/JumpinMacFlash/Millada.jpg The 2007 starting rotation http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o140/JumpinMacFlash/TheRotation.jpg
  23. I remember the chips in question and I loved them too. Likewise for KC Masterpiece Ruffles. I love BBQ chips. I also miss the cereal that is immortalized as my avatar: Crunchy Corn Bran...so delicious.
  24. I've dabbled with Photoshop quite a bit, and these were a couple I came up with. This one is a background I made for my sister. http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v66/4/73/219701744/n219701744_31188605_5053.jpg This was something I threw together for Menchkins. http://photos-c.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v64/4/73/219701744/n219701744_31063890_7677.jpg
  25. I've never cared for Vic at all. He just seems like a crabby old man who never had a positive take on anything I've had a couple of e-mail exchanges with Vic before regarding career questions and even interviewed him for one of my classes. I've always thought of him as very friendly and helpful. And in my opinion, he's head and shoulders above blowhards like Tom Oates and Andy Baggot. I hate reading their columns.
