1. I'm done caring. I have taken a glass half full approach and figure this: The Brewers are going to be good for the next half decade. AT LEAST. I am not going to get myself worked up over one season (if it comes to that) or hopefully just one long bad stretch of baseball games early on in the early stages of this team's future success. I just can't take the nights anymore that I am freaking out over a loss that the team had that ONE night. This might belong in the vent thread, but I just thought that it was actually taking a optimistic approach. This team WILL be good someday. It might not be this year. It might be this year, but whenever it is, I am looking forward to it.
2. The high school that Scarpetta pitches for is in the conference that my high school is in, and I have faced him and he's got some nasty stuff (although that's coming from me who's not much). I also play with his cousin. We have bombarded him with questions obviously, and his cousin thinks that he might be leaning towards just going to play for Creighton if he gets drafted. The injury hurt his stock quite a bit I think, as they were expecting him early on to go somewhere from the 4th-6th rounds. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a draft and follow pick kind of like someone said, but I guess we'll see. His other cousin (the older brother of the kid that I play with) also has been drafted the last three years, but has finally decided to attend a college in Nebraska so he won't be drafted for a while. The father of the two kids that go to my school also played in the minors for a little while. It is definitely a baseball family.
3. Assuming that will be Sheets' last inning, I have to say I am very impressed that he could battle back like he did after his first inning struggles. Benny, you did your job! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif NOW LET'S GET SOME RUNS!
4. And now the Cubs look like they are going to gain another game on us. It is time to start winning NOWWW. I am sick of this and it looks as though its going to be a bit closer for them. This Sucks.
5. Well, that kind of stinks. I was hoping for some responses to my post, but I doubt a lot of people are going to notice it after that. Right now, the reason this team has struggled over the last 13 games is their lack of pitching in those losses, not only the hitting. That graphic that they flashed up earlier told a lot (without saying much, if that makes sense) with the way the ERA looks. That has to come down if the Brewers plan on winning.
6. As a younger person, I have no idea why major leaguer hitters don't just do what Gonzalez has done tonight. I mean when I come up to bat in a game and the third basemen is at regular depth behind third base I consider bunting to get on, and that is just in high school baseball, where I suppose it's a little easier. I just feel that major league hitters should consider learning how to hit opposite field if they want to be real successful in the big leagues. Tony Gwynn made a great point.
7. Someone brought up the question in another thread (in the Major League board). Who is the Carlos Lee/Carlos Beltran/Don Sutton aquiree that the Brewers would possibly be interested in? I don't really know if I see many holes on this team, or even the need for a type of trade like that, but what reliever would you expect. Or even if Braun struggles at third base (hitting), which is doubtful, what third basemen are there out there?
8. I'm not going to expect too much with these guys in the next two games, the way we're playing right now, I'll be happy with one of the next two.
9. I sure hope we don't have to remember this date down the road. I really have a bad feeling about this one, and I agree with the person that said this leads to long losing streaks. God let's hope not.
10. Be careful there. That's asking for quite a bit.
11. It's the Milwaukee Brewers. If they didn't fall apart then we'd actually have a fairly decent chance at the wild card. That's why.
12. Anyone surprised to see on the "Brewers Live" pregame that the Brewers are 8-1 in their last nine vs. the Rockies? Now that I say that I'm sure they'll go out and get swept but no worries, I knocked on some wood.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif GO CREW!!!
13. Does anyone know if tomorrow's game is on T.V.?
14. The way our offense is going, there's no way we see a 3-hit shutout today, is there? Oh wait, Jeff Suppan is pitching.... I think its the other way around. The way our offense is going, there's no way we can't see a shutout. Especially with Suppan going. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif Sorry about that. Just thats the way the Brewers have been. They score a lot of runs and then the final game of the series they can't score at all. GO BREWERS!
15. My thoughts exactly. Prediction: Brewers 3, Padres 1
16. Never know with Turnbow though. He always makes sure he gives us a roller coaster ride. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
17. Sorry I haven't responded to your question. No his stats don't contribute. On ESPN.com they have splits to how players hit when they play third, etc. On a more important topic, WHY AREN'T THE BREWERS ON ESPN?
18. Going back to the 3B debate. I don't think we really need a third baseman as bad as everyone thinks. Here is what our third basemen have provided offensively. G H-AB R 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB AVE/OBP/SLG/OPS 106 111-383 47 30 1 16 52 46 87 10 290/366/499/865 I think thats a pretty good performance out of our third basemen. The only question is if Cirillo will do as well as he did at the beginning of the year. He contributed quite a bit to those stats. EDIT: It should be noted that that is only through 106 games. I added all the stats up last week and haven't done so since then.
19. wow that had to be one of my most painful sport moment that was dreadful. i can't believe i am this mad over a freakin sports event.
20. Love the mojo pictureshttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif . Now, here's to a Brewer win!
21. That Brainard interview wasn't too bad. When I saw him walking from the dugout at the end of the game, I was kind of nervous to tell the truth. I am sure someone has already brought this up, but I loved to hear about how Prince talked about Lee helping him out before the game. We gotta get him signed long term.
22. Well... at least your optimistic.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
