  1. Perez was outrighted and declared free agency, so the 40 man is at 39, with 2 still on the 60 day DL.
  2. Perez was outrighted and declared free agency.
  3. That's a good point, so what does the depth chart look like now, if Lyles and Gonzalez are gone? Not a lot of depth. Woodruff Davies Houser Anderson Nelson Suter Burnes Peralta Wilkerson Supak Brown
  4. I wasn't sure where to put this. Sunday's game was the first game we made it to this year, using our Crib Crew vouchers. We waited in line for a while after the game for my daughter to run the bases. By the time we got to the field, the grounds crews were working on the field and the players were long gone. My daughter takes off running, and as we are walking from 1B to home, I glance at the Brewers dugout and see Lorenzo Cain standing at the top step, just watching the kids run. Everyone was watching the kids, so not too many people noticed him. I thought this was pretty cool.
  5. I wonder if the Royals will promote Sveum to manager if not I would really like to see the Brewers bring him back as the hitting coach. Another article said that Matheny is the likely replacement. Interesting that Yost is the winningest manager in KC history and has the best postseason winning pct in MLB history.
  6. The Brewers have played around .500 ball every month over the past 3 seasons, except for 2 months: May 2018 .704 and Sept 2018 .741. So they've been a consistently .500 team for 3 years, except for 2 hot months.
  7. Who picked Thames playing more OF in their predictions?
  8. Assuming Houser to the rotation, they still have an 8 man pen. With days off, they only need a 5th starter on August 3,20 and 27. Then rosters expand. They get creative on the 3rd and then you have 3.5 weeks before you need to find a starter. It makes sense to carry the extra bat. We'll have to see where he plays.
  9. I see Hammonds mentioned a few times. Did people really have high expectations of him? A lot of people at the time questioned the move, spending all that money on a guy with a ton of injuries and 1 year of inflated numbers in Colorado. He was injured and mediocre during his time with the Brewers, as expected.
  10. How about most of the first round draft picks in the 90's? Kenny Felder Jeff D'Amico - Never could stay healthy Antone Williamson Chad Green JM Gold
  11. I don't get to a lot of games, so I don't recall. Is there a separate line for people without bags? They do that at Disney. I'm always the one schlepping the entire house around, so I wait to get the bag checked while my wife and kids go right through the no bag line and wait for me inside the gate. And like JimH says, they have the bag check and metal detectors well outside of the ticket scanner area.
  12. With all of the days off, they won't need a 5th starter until August 3rd and then not until August 20th. I assume this means we're going to see more of Chacin starting.
  13. Why did he replace Hader? Did Hader decide not to go?
  14. Every time I think the option is a no-brainer, he'll go through a 2 month long slump, like his .565 OPS in the 2nd half last year.
  15. The Braun thread made me think about Thames option next year. I believe $7.5 million vs $1 million buyout. I've gone back and forth so many times on this since he signed. Now he's been pretty productive in a platoon role and with Aguilar and Shaw MIA and Moustakas and Grandal probably gone, they could use the bat. And no one knocking on the door at 1B. I think I'd pick up the option.
  16. And he'll still be making $1.8 million a year for the next ten years after he retires. So $22 million to not play.
  17. I've seen a lot of internet comments about the need to pay attention. I don't think that would have mattered in this case, but it did get me to thinking about how teams like the Brewers are actively trying to get you to use your phone during games. Tweet or instgram your pic. Play bingo. Vote for the all stars. If teams are going to actively push you to focus on your phone, then they need to put up nets all the way down the line.
  18. And the Mets replaced him by recalling Carlos Gomez.
  19. So 21 first round (or suplimental) picks since Jefress is 2006, and this is just the 2nd one to make it to the Brewers (Jungmann and Hiura). Granted, there were trades, but lots of misses.
  20. I'm pretty sure we haven't even had a complete game shutout in the time that Fiers has thrown 2 no hitters.
  21. I don't think it's any coincidence that they leave right after Howard announces that he's staying. Not going to get many chances with a ball hog chucking up 40 shots a night. Wojo's got to be in the hot seat now.
  22. Looks like the Brewers and others have stepped forward to save the July 3rd fireworks. More details to come. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2019/04/05/brewers-going-sponsor-july-3-lakefront-fireworks-milwaukee/3376726002/
  23. You could argue that LaPorta, Lawrie, Odorizzi and Jefress had big impacts with Milwaukee in acquiring Sabathia, Greinke, and Marcum.
  24. So we have Hinojosa, Anderson and Wilkerson left from the Escobar/Cain/Odorizzi/Jefress for Greinke trade, plus Cain and Jefress.
  25. I read this as "active limit" means you can expand your roster to 40, but only 28 can be active for a particular game. I could be 100% wrong, but that was my first impression. That would keep the union happy (more jobs) and address the issue of 37 pitching changes per game. In theory. If that's the case, then you could make all but 1 starter inactive and still have a 13 man bullpen, given the 14 pitcher limit after Sept 1.
