  1. I wouldn't trade Weeks if I was Melvin. I'm still confident that he can improve to a point where he's an above-average player. Might as well hold on to him at this point.
  2. Fielder is now out-OPSing Braun.
  3. Due to his recent hot streak, Escobar now has an OPS of .837, which is comfortably better than J.J's Huntsville OPS of .795 in 416 ABS. Now, no doubt Escobar benefits from being part of a powerhouse lineup, but this is pretty exciting. Escobar still has a lot of room to improve - his potential is vast. Oh, and I'm not too worried about his errors, if only because minor league errors are notoriously suspect, and from all accounts (and the few video highlights I've seen), Escobar is a plus defender. At this point, I think J.J. soon becomes expendable.
  4. Nothing "directly" translates to the Majors. Yes, I get your point that power translates better, but excellent strike zone judgment is usually a portent that a player will be a good hitter.
  5. Scott Linebrink 1.12 ERA, 370+ ERA, .87 WHIP, BAA under .190 ----------- Scott Linebrink has been unable to pitch for several days because of migraine headaches. ''I believe him because he's a real religious guy,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said. ''Someone else tells me they have a migraine, I know they are hung over.''
  6. I used to really enjoy Scrubs, and still watch it, but I won't be disappointed to see it go. That said, they need a proper finale.
  7. Have you seen Gamel play? If so, please give us some details on how he has more potential than Braun to stick at the hot corner.
  8. We will be back over .500 in two games (assuming we lose this one).
  9. Yeah UCLA baseball here in Madison. This stinks.
  10. I'm definitely starting to doubt Melvin with regards to his roster management.
  11. Bagel + Cream Cheese - Is there anything better? Bacon Eggs (Scrambled or Over Easy) Yes, breakfast is amazing.
  12. Brewers Other Sports Battlestar Galactica The Office Scrubs Top Chef That's all I watch, really.
  13. Did anyone see the JS story this morning? Grading the Bucks There are some very interesting tidbits. Not that there was no communication at all. For example, when Denver visited the Bradley Center on Feb. 23 and the Nuggets were killing the Bucks on fast-break points in building a 23-point lead in the first half, Bogut barked at Redd during a timeout to quit jacking up quick shots and get back on defense. The Bucks went on to stage one of the more impressive come-from-behind victories of the year. ------- That was never more obvious than after a home loss to New Orleans on Feb. 13, when Redd fired up a quick and ill-advised three-point shot in the closing seconds when a two-point basket would have tied the game. Afterward, Redd laid the defeat at Krystkowiak's feet, saying the Bucks had been going for the victory and he was only following the game plan by taking a three-pointer. It would later come to light that that was not necessarily the plan. Also, Krystkowiak has subsequently followed up with some choice words. "I think there was a different mindset in practice than there was in a game," said Krystkowiak. "It was like two different types of teams so we could never address sharing and moving the basketball because we did a decent job of it in practice. It was in games where it didn't happen… things became very focused on scoring points and that's Mike. A lot of times in practice he would defer and wouldn't be as scoring-minded. So I don't know how you're supposed to get better as a team when you could never simulate your play (from practice into games). Practice was different than games." Now, I think Redd is a solid player, but this stuff is pretty damning. It's become pretty clear that he is negatively affecting the team, which isn't what you want from a player that you give a max contract to.
  14. Rluz, you misread it. The Phillies are paying all of his salary. However, the Marlins are on the hook for the buyout now, so the Phillies will save some money, if not much.
  15. I just want to say thank you, agent39. I appreciate the information you provide.
  16. I thought it was pretty terrible as well. And while it's sometimes entertaining, the entertainment comes from the history, not from the fact that it's particularly well made. I actually like Giamatti as an actor (at least in Sideways), but he's quite bland in this.
  17. Production is good, voice is good, guitar is good. Really, as an overall package, this is better than a lot of studio releases. That being said, the lyrics are often forgettable, and some are outright clunkers, such as: "There is no gleam inside of me" "This flock of sheep will help me fly" from Penelope. I could find more, if need be. I also agree that the sound is all too similar on a number of the tracks - similar strum patterns and chord progressions. Some of them, to my ear, are simply too bright. My favorite track upon first listen is Quiet Little Girl, maybe because it is so different from the others. But as I said, this is extremely well done. I'm impressed. Keep it up.
  18. Dear Fox Sports, First, I want to thank you for providing excellent coverage of my favorite baseball team, the Milwaukee Brewers. I have always enjoyed the broadcast, and on the whole I have had nothing to complain about. Fox Sports North Production has been solid, allowing me to enjoy the baseball games from the comfort of my home. This year, however, I have been repeatedly frustrated by the camera angles used during the games. By this, I mean that it is often impossible to see the baseball's trajectory, or the ball being fielded, or even an important play being made on the bases. There have been some very egregious errors of this manner, and everyone I've talked to has noticed them. These are errors that have not happened in the past, and these are errors that do not happen on any other baseball broadcasts that I've witnessed. If you could please use the camera angles in such a way that I can see all of the game action, I will be much obliged. Thank you very much Comment sent.
  19. These camera angles are really starting to frustrate me. It didn't use to be this bad, did it?
  20. Why is Joseph Attanasio a weird dude?
  21. Charlie Chaplin, City Lights.
  22. I will take the coach's word for it. I see no reason in distrusting people unless they have shown a reason to earn that distrust. Coach definitely hasn't.
