  1. Have a moat between third base and home plate, fill it with alligators and snakes and whatnot. We'll see how often Sveum sends 'em home then.
  2. The problem with all of this cap space nonsense is that no one in their right mind would choose Milwaukee (while the team is bad) over another city without getting overpaid. This creates a never ending cycle of ugly contracts. This team needs to be built through the draft and or trades.
  3. I always picture you as Hacksaw Jim Duggan due to your avatar. Now that I know you're a hiker, I picture Hacksaw out there hiking in the woods and trails with no shirt on hiking with his 2x4, yelling HOOOOOOO at everyone he walks by. Random thoughts.
  4. Would you start Sessions or Lue over Ridnour? I liked what I saw from Sessions at the end of last year, but I'd like to see that on a more consistent basis before I hand the reins over to him. Who knows, maybe he really impresses at camp and gets the nod. At this point, barring any other moves or a Sessions breakout, Ridnour has to be the starter.
  5. Ridnour Redd Jefferson Villanueva Bogut Underwhelmed.
  6. rluzinski, peeing in Brewerfan's collective fruit loops since March 2003. I kid, I kid.
  7. Outfield assists at home plate score a run for the defense. 3 double plays in a game scores a run for the defense. A triple play scores two runs for the defense.
  8. I don't think that could have turned out any better, or worse, whichever way you look at it. Spilled the drink and everything. Awesome. <--If you don't know that guy, you missed possibly the best sports movie ever.
  9. I did that a few years back - my NCAA team was UNLV, I was about 10 years in to the Dynasty. UNLV got bumped up to the PAC-10 and the top 4 picks in the draft were all from my team. I love doing that, recruiting guys from high school, advancing them in NCAA and drafting them in to Madden. I don't know of any other game series that has as cool an option as that.
  10. Counsell walks sharply to first base.
  11. RE: pitchleague: I am absolutely terrible at NCAA 09, I think I am 11-31 on Xbox live but I still play it. I play it because it's my excuse to ride my stationary bike while I play, so I don't care if I lose or not. It's exercise.
  12. Soup's come pretty close a couple times this season, but has not been able to string together 3 straight quality starts yet this year. Here's to hoping that we can't say that anymore after tonight.
  13. Yikes...nothing like having a hero who died from syphilis at age 42. I was aware of Radbourn and his amazing stats previously, but never that little tidbit.

Yeah, I have no dusk upon further review. Here is a link to the full album though, 12 pics in total.
  16. Pure comedy in this thread - thanks Tuesdays. On a Tuesday no less.
  17. Yeah, actually it is. The world is more than the US - just because Beckham hasn't popularized soccer here in the US doesn't mean it isn't already the most popular sport in the world. Actually, it is. It doesn't need to succeed here to be that popular. Whether you like it or not. Have you ever been to another country? Multiple countries on multiple continents? How would you know who carries star power throughout the world?
  18. The problem not thought of when this plan was hatched is the problem of Milwaukee being the smallest metro market in baseball. If this even was legal, I don't know if it is or not, but if it was, I think the fans of NY, Chicago, anywhere else besides Milwaukee actually would have a better chance of raising more money.
  19. That comment carries very little weight considering the stranglehold that football (soccer) has on global popularity among all sports. Not to mention the fact that American football hasn't really caught on and baseball is not nearly as popular worldwide as it is here in the US. Soccer has a real basic advantage - all you need is a ball really. In poor nations this is huge as most children won't have access to bats, gloves, baseball fields, American Football pads, basketball hoops, etc.
  20. Over the last 10 years, Kendall has played more games at catcher than anyone else in the Majors, and it's not close. He has a 200+ game lead on #2, Jorge Posada. Kendall is used to playing an absolute boatload of games. We as fans just aren't used to seeing an ironman of his ilk. Are you sure he needs more rest than he's getting? I don't necessarily disagree that it is a good idea to get Rivera more PT, but I'm not sure it is as much of a slam dunk decision based on Kendall's conditioning.
  21. They play a lot more defense than they hit.
  22. I'd say it's closer to the Valles Marineris
  23. Thank you for not making me have to decide on Mota or Gagne, Ben. I really appreciate it.
