There's no reason for the Yankees to give up anything of value for him, at least until Robertson and Soriano prove they can't handle the job. Soriano has experience as a closer and has a career ERA under 3. Robertson has been fantastic for the past year plus. Unless the Brewers are eating almost all of his salary the Yankees do not need him. I think K-Rod will be fine as the season evens out, obviously a 6.52 ERA is an incredibly small sample size....but his velocity has been declining, he's been allowing more baserunners (aside from 2010 he hasn't been under that career WHIP mark since 2006) and he hasn't shown anything this year (again, I understand small sample sizes) that shows a team should make him their closer, or at least give up anything of value to do so. The Red Sox could be another Aceves blowup away from panicking and trying to make a move, so maybe there's something there. But expecting someone like Youkilis in return is ridicilis (it rhymes!), even if the Brewers throw in a prospect. As is expecting to create a bidding war for an overpaid setup man, especially when one team doesnt need him. And I doubt they would get back any sort of prospect that could fill in for Gamel (which is kind of the point of this Derrek Lee thread, I would assume).
