  1. Dancing on the line of delusional and whiny... Excuse me. What exactly am I whining about? And you don't think Gomez catches either one of those balls? I really don't think he would have caught the Pujols double. Sure, with Kotsay you knew it was a double the moment it left the bat....but that was well hit and straight to left center. That doesn't make it any better, still probably out of the inning down 1-0 with Gomez in there.
  2. Carp was looking very hittable, that stinks. Very important Yo gets off to a good start and doesn't let the Cardinals seize some momentum. Carpenter would feed off of that....keep it at zeroes til we turn the lineup over.
  3. I have to say, I thought the constant/daily complaining about the lineups was tiresome, and it never bothered me like it did so many others; but this time, I'm picking my jaw up off the floor seeing this.My thoughts exactly. It is what it is I guess, prove me (and everyone) wrong Mark.
  4. another former (albeit briefly) brewer...Jim Edmonds.
  5. Marcum has been throwing his changeup much much less lately than he did throughout the season. It hasn't really been explained why (maybe he's struggling physically a little bit and doesn't have faith he can locate it)....but I would imagine Lucroy was calling for it often (seeing as it is Marcum's most effective pitch) and Shaun didn't want to throw it.
  6. He is also thinking about benching Morgan due to his poor defense, yet is considering putting Kotsay in CF against Carpenter. Makes perfect sense. I thought his quote from the JS blog was that each run is important when you're up against carpenter, and with Morgan struggling he might need to sit out. Haudricourt then goes on to speculate that it could mean Kotsay...idk if RRR specifically mentioned using Kotsay or Morgan's defense as a reason why. Could be part of a quote I didn't see though.
  7. I agree. It's hard to fault Roenicke when 98% of managers would make that mistake. Slightly related (and might not matter)....is Saito available tonight? Is he good to pitch on back to back nights?
  8. bad luck to make contact on a check swing...but that was probably a pretty good pitch to try and take the other way. keep em at 5 this inning and then put up a crooked number the third time through the order again.
  9. Is anyone in the pen/marcum has to be pinch hit for with men on base? right?
  10. 5-2 in the 4th again??? GAME OVER also, get taylor green in there for rickie. /troll sorry.
  11. probably 60%, tops. but I know what you mean...Carpenter going in game 3 leads to the thought of being down 2-1 with Wolf on the mound. Third time through the order will be key again tonight. just get use there Shaun (or Narveson maybe? please?)
  12. that was a really really difficult play. I don't doubt that Gomez could have made it...but i'm not going to be up in arms that nyjer didn't get there. it was a well hit ball. I'm more upset he didn't hang on to Jackson's hit.
  13. I never said anything about if he took the 1st pitch he would then take the slider. If he walked the bases would have been loaded. If he didn't chase the terrible pitching the dirt 3-1 the bases would have been loaded with Marcum up. Obviously Marcum could have hit into the double play..but he could have also had a hit as well. well yea. I'm not defending lucroy for swinging at that 3-1 pitch. I just don't think it had anything to do with greenlighting him on 3-0. it was a fine decision.
  14. how were the bases loaded? By taking a first strike that means he's going to take that slider? even if you can prove that (you can't), what if marcum GIDP?
  15. i have no problem with him swinging 3-0. he definitely got a pitch to hit, and the pitcher behind him makes a difference. Just didn't get it done. it happens. if he takes strike 1 there how can you say he still doesn't chase a 3-1 slider?
  16. idk how long they'll keep working without the changeup. Might have a good turn through the order...but if the offspeed stuff isn't working the cardinals are going to catch on really quick.
  17. Good catch...tipping the hat to his buddy Aaron. Any sightings of him at the game? I hope we play a little better than the last celeb fest at MP. I read that he was in the clubhouse before the game.
  18. that'll work. Good pitch there to berkman...very surprised he doesn't swing with Holliday going
  19. they're pretty evenly matched teams, so it's not too ridiculous to expect them to go back to st louis 1-1. the cardinals probably have the pitching edge tonight as well (and I would have said that before the meatball to pujols)
  20. didnt he get an AB in one of those games in AZ?
  21. I would guess Morgan stays in for Hart, and the K-Rod goes into the leadoff spot
  22. have a day yuni b. not only another hit, but another really nice at bat.
