hey, no runs allowed that inning. you'd think the crew was down by 17 runs reading through this thread. I'm not happy about things either, but this game was always going to be a slugfest. The DBacks are an awful matchup for Wolf...it would have been nice if they didn't get put in a hole so early, but still. Keep chipping away at Saunders, he sucks.....let Wolf battle through 4 or 5 and hopefully the game will be 5-5 then. Let's do it top of the order.

I do not have a good feeling about Wolf tonight. I think he gives up 4 or 5 runs. Fortunately, I have a very good feeling about the Brewers against Saunders. I think the bats come through and win a slugfest. let's do it.

I would imagine Marcum is also a little frustrated himself for bobbling that double play ball. He had a rough inning and made the pitches to get out of it. then that happened, and then something much much worse happened.

well, it was ages ago...but they did win a series in Philly already this season. so that kinda contradicts both of your points there.

it's cutting it too close for me. It took my parents 2 hours to get to the UW/Oregon State game, and they left from Pewaukee instead of Miller Park. Factor in a longer drive from Miller Park, the traffic coming out of there+traffic going to Madison (i would guess worse than the Oregon St game), and then the madness in Madison (as far as finding parking that late, getting to the stadium, etc) and it might take 3 hours to make the usually short drive. The Brewer game will likely go past 4, and maybe even to 4:30....I think it's a bit of a stretch. I would have tried it with a noon (or earlier) game, but I'm not going to risk it. Good luck though, I hope I'm wrong for your sake. Either way, it'll be a hell of a day/weekend. -
i feel like 50 pitches in 4 innings is fairly ambitious for Greinke...I can't remember the last time he was that efficient.

I've had my flight home and tickets for the Nebraska game for quite a while...so I'm hoping for the same thing. I wish there was a chance for an early game Sunday as well....the last flight back to Atlanta is at 6:30. Don't think I would be able to fit both in if the Brewers take care of business tonight. 6 AM monday flight it is then!

The Cardinals aren't any different than the Brewers and are less a threat than a healthy Braves team. And I'd much rather face the DBacks than either. but the braves aren't healthy....

If the spot comes up in the order with men on base, Braun should really pinch hit for Yuni. Keep Braun in left, move Hairston to short, put someone in at third (it'll be McGehee) batting in the pitcher's spot.

I am pretty sure BA mentioned it would be in St. Louis. I thought they determined the best site based on travel (i.e in a random world where the dodgers and cardinals tied...if the dodgers last game was in chicago and the cardinals ended at home, they wouldn't send them to LA for the tiebreaker game). And if there really isn't an advantage to either site, they go with a coinflip. Maybe they already did a coinflip and STL won. Also, I think it's pretty clear that the Braves are the worst team in playoff contention. Obviously all the brewers can do is keep on winning and get homefield....but even then we should be pulling for the Braves. I don't doubt their ability to beat the DBacks....but the Braves at the moment are just not a very good team. Their hitting is even worse than usual and the staff is banged up/worn down. Part of me is saying this so I get game(s) in Atlanta, but it really is the best matchup.

They could have started Tim Lincecum on 3 days rest but instead they started Eric SurkampThe guy who was 2-0 with an ERA under 3 since he got called up from a successful minor league season that had 165 Ks and 44 walks? Surkamp is a good prospect and part of the Giants future. He's pitched well for them in the past few weeks, which is when the Giants have played some of their best baseball to get back into the race

they never do...i went to MLB network. I'm hoping they'll cut back to Milwaukee if the Cubs hold on. So far so good. They gotten better about sticking around after big games.Well, MLB network was showing the stadium...but this is much better. thanks for the heads up. and for the DP, cardinals.
