  1. Ahem... Don't you mean NFL "Europa"? J.T. O'Sullivan was so close, too. I really wanted to see him get allocated and get another shot at a title next year.
  2. Cordero career ERA: 3.25 Cordero 2007 ERA: 2.91 He's just being Francisco Cordero. If you expected him to carry an ERA of 1.50 or something all year, you haven't followed him too closely. Tomorrow is the biggest game of the year in my opinion. Man, people freak out about one game. Chill. They're all worth the same amount. It doesn't matter when you win them, or if you do it in streaks. The Brewers are the best team in the division, and over 162 games that fact will come to pass.
  3. He's now officially on the Moneyball shuttle, only place left is Toronto. DePo had him, Beane, and now Alderson.
  4. I hope this game pisses these guys off and they come out tomorrow with a vengeance. Just think one maybe two more runs in 8 innings and this would be a win. We were just asking for something like this to happen What? They had the game won. It's not the offense's fault. They scored enough runs to have a comfortable lead in the 9th inning. Then they blew it. It happens, it's not indicitive of anything like they were "asking" for this too happen.
  5. I think a fishing net attached to his arm might be better.
  6. Well, he's a 7 footer and 19, so he's going to grow into a PF. The reason people may think of him as a SF is that he's skinny.
  7. I can definitely understand taking Yi. The potential there is just huge. He's not Darko raw, either, so he can contribute pretty quickly.
  8. I love Al Thornton. There's not many players in the draft that I'd take over him. I'd definitely rather have him than either of the Wrights or Yi.
  9. Wright is allegedly falling some, so they might be able to get him if they move down a few spots.
  10. Yeah, you can kind of get that heat that beats through the glass panels during the middle innings.
  11. I would say in this draft that there is a pretty steep drop-off after the second pick. I'd be for spreading the risk out over two players rather than just one. There's definitely not a sure-fire star at 6, all of them have questions.
  12. Ryan and The Cardinals on Letterman last night:
  13. Mayweather will light him up with ease. At least there's a Great White Hope for some folks now, even though he's never beaten anyone of consequence other than Kotsya Tsztzu and a shot Jose Luis Castillo last week. He's more of a Great White Hype.
  14. Throw in how well the Brewers have played, and he definitely has a shot, he probably should be the favorite. I can't think of anyone who's been better than him this month.
  15. Well, the article that is linked in this thread said they administered it to him because they felt he was too small (at least that's what it said when I posted about it). I see that further information has come out about the son's condition, which makes the HGH much more understandable, since it does have several benefits as you mentioned, aracko. EDIT: The steroids thing coming up in every article is getting pretty sickening. Right now, it's Benoit::steroids like it was Columbine::music. The media is trying to boil it down and oversimplify it, like everything has a cut and dried cause and effect. Sometimes it just doesn't.
  16. I like Anderson a lot. I like a guy that keeps quiet more and lets the game happen. It's TV, they don't need to fill any dead times. Though the Caddyshack references flew right over Rock's head the other day. That's tough for him, he's working with a partner who can't get even the most basic of one-liners. BA threw out that "How'd you like to mow my lawn?" line the other day and it was received by stone cold silence.
  17. I'll bet that the contract is just bigger than the one that is rumored right now.
  18. They need to do the McGwire thing with him and start him at SS or 2B and bat him second for road games, and take him out after one AB. This will most certainly increase the number of road games they win.
  19. Well, the Brewers have played .500 ball since their 24-10 start.
  20. That's why me and my friends used to call him Grandmaster Clutch.
  21. Hey, I think Dave Bush has just become a proven reliever. At least he's back to neutral now, since he offset his two bad innings last season.
  22. Oil hale raygrassion to teh mein Jeenyus.
  23. Dude was giving his 7 year old kid HGH? Man. I tend to agree with the WWE's statement that this doesn't indicate "rage", but deliberation. Considering the way the wife was bound and tied, etc., this is pretty pre-meditated stuff. Considering she had filed for divorce and sole custody in the past, maybe she was about to do it again.
  24. Well, the day has finally arrived. "Easy Tiger" is in stores today. Maybe you're on the fence... read some "Generally favorable reviews" here: www.metacritic.com/music/.../easytiger Pitchfork gave it a 6.2, which is about what I expected them to give it. To me, it's definitely one of my top five for the year.
