  1. It's really nice to see Graffy start to hit like himself again lately. He's been pretty good the last handful of times he's started.
  2. Well, really the only times he has been awful were when he was used three days in a row. And there aren't that many relievers that can pull off that trick with consistent success.
  3. I'd be for tempting fate with Wise, if fate is going to be tempted, of course.
  4. I'm sorry but for all the people who are Gabe Gross backers, what is your rationale? The way he has hit RHP's the last season plus since he joined the Brewers and his ability to draw a walk. No one is saying he should play every day, as far as I know, so the whole question is basically a straw man. Many (myself included) think he's the 4th best OF on the team, and should play accordingly.
  5. He's working his way back from a blister he had a couple weeks ago.
  6. That thing that Laird hit must have been a mile in the air, because it seemed like Jenks ran forever to catch it.
  7. Yeah, I was looking at his entire career, which says he holds LHB's to a .634 OPS. According to this: www.baseball-reference.co...&year=2006 Last year was when he had the .811 OPS against vs. LHB's. This season it's .414. Small samples all - 41 PA this season and 50 last year.
  8. Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic and used the wrong emoticon.
  9. Obiovusly, I'd love to see them keep him around in some capacity. I think it might be up to him - how much more of this stuff can he put up with? It has to hit that point where it's just not worth it for him anymore. Sure, he's a professional baseball player, but it's not like he's making that much money.
  10. Yeah, after Gwynn's next AB, Hart should pass him in AVG, which is pretty much the last thread that TGJ had to grasp onto.
  11. The game is on 669 instead of the standard 642. Thanks!
  12. Sweet. Way to go FSN, thanks for coming through! Yeah, this kind of sucks.
  13. I'm kind of getting sick of Bill Hall being jerked around the lineup like he is Tony Graffanino.
  14. Yeah, that's what the link I posted earlier in the thread was to, IIRC. I'm not a fan of the iTunes store, really, and pre-sale tickets don't mean they're all up front, or anything. That said, if they are, order one for me, pal. By the way, Easy Tiger leaked late last night. It's a 128 KBPS m4a leak, but I can live with that until a better one comes along and then I can finally buy the album. EDIT: This has been an unreal week for leaks, really - White Stripes, Ryan Adams, and then the topper, the new Iron & Wine leaked today (and it doesn't even come out until October). And, in the past couple weeks, the new Spoon and Queens of the Stone Age, as well.
  15. We'll you're not going to get him for junk that the Brewers don't want anymore, that's for sure. Elite sluggers in the prime of their careers are going to cost a good prospect or two. Now, if the Reds thought Jackson was a good prospect, that's be great, but I doubt they do.
  16. Neshek is absolutely filthy. There's no way the Twins would trade a guy that good and that cheap. The guy has an ERA of 1.78 and 87 K's in 65 2/3 IP (ERA+ of 248 ) over his career so far. He's effective against any handedness.
  17. Sosa is pretty much cooked. He was sort of decent for a while this year, but he's quickly regressing right back to what he hit with Baltimore in '05.
  18. hall batting 8th....he cant fall much farther...he needs to have a big series against Texas That is a joke as far as I'm concerned. You hear the talk about keeping a "consistent top 5" in the batting order. Yet the 4th hitter got dropped, first to the 7th spot, and now the 8th - after a little slump. But, Estrada is free to suck all he wants in the 5th spot and not get moved.
  19. I was pretty much expecting Fermaint to go back down, his star has taken a hit thus far. Brantley skipping over him is a huge surprise, though I'm skeptical like pogo is, that he's going to stay there. But, it doesn't do players any good to go to Brevard from now on(though Fermaint obviously did well there last year), as far as I'm concerned.
  20. A walking double play. You mean hacking double play. There's nothing "walking" when it comes to Estrada.
  21. I happen to know the guy who wrote that very, very well. He hasn't had much time to update lately, maybe in the next couple of days he will.
  22. LuCroy will sign with ease. There are questions about how real his power even is (thanks to competition concerns) so he'd have to go to the Cape and mash (it isn't very likely that he'd be invited). He has a lot more to lose than he has to gain.
  23. They certainly seem to be taking a system where with Braun now in Milwaukee it's Angel Salome and some guys in West Virginia for position prospects and adding some polished college bats to instantly infuse talent into that side of the system. Yeah, graduation has obviously thinned out the position player prospects, but I don't think Jack Z.'s drafting on need. I'm not nuts about Farris, but the LuCroy pick is excellent in my eyes.
