  1. Dear Brewers: Hey, winning this game would be kind of neat. Thanks.

  3. Lucky Marquis - he gets to take it on the chin again tonight: 5 IP, 14 H, 12 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 3 HR That's a line Hendy would be proud of.
  4. On that note, i can't wait to watch the true "Quiet Warrior", Tomo Ohka, return to the hill. You've been missed, Tomes.
  5. The Manatees didn?t give an explanation on what the problem is with Rogers but in his last outing his control suffered badly. Well, if his control was bad, that's not really a red flag. If he had walked a couple more, you'd think he was 100%.

  7. So now Doug Melvin sucks because they've lost a few games in a row? Yeesh. And I don't know how you're going to find a better player at 3B than what the Brewers have with Koskie/Hall/Cirillo. Maybe you can chip in some bucks and get A-Rod. Seriously, that's been the best position on the team. There's no way Braun's going to match that, maybe ever in his career. It was a great position last year, and it is again this year. Platoons are a great thing.
  8. because I watch all the games. Do ya? I am confident that what I say is as truthful as it gets Basically, what you say are anecdotes. Things like "no one fears the Brewers", etc. It's a lot of the same stuff you hear the Joe Morgans of the world throw out. I mean, when you say Weeks hasn't done anything to warrant playing over Barnwell, that's flatly untrue.
  9. The fact that Carlos Lee was going to be here two years was plain as day last season. I don't know how you can say this is "costing them" Lee. If you hate the Brewers so much, why do you watch? There's nothing wrong with being a negative nelly (end is actually pretty good at it), but when you play "martyr speaking truth to mindless automatons with no perception of reality", it gets old.
  10. I know the K's are killing the Tigers (1st in the AL in K's). They did the Red Sox in in 2004, too.
  11. Yeah, Barnwell seeing the field really isn't necessary.
  12. forums.espn.go.com/espn/t...D=25659044 This imposter poster also said in a Gwynn thread that "his sources say that a Carlos Lee trade has been completed". Forgive me for going there in the first place, but curiosity got the best of me and I had to see if there was anything someone knew over there re: Gwynn. BJames?
  13. I was advocating Deer for hitting coach last year, when it seemed like Butch may get fired. He's a hitting instructor in the Padres organization, I think. He'd make sense.
  14. What truth? The Brewers aren't feared? What does that even mean? Who is feared? They're a pretty decent team, they just have to get their Fear Factor higher - I say replace Wynegar with Joe Rogan. What a joke. These players are grown men and professionals, I don't think they fear other teams. And, seeing you live in Chicago, you live closer to "the bubble" than I do. I'm over 300 miles away.
  15. Since when is OBP a sabermetric? There's value in getting on base, no matter what. He's not as good as he was last year, obviously. How many runs do you expect a 8th place hitter to score? That's a horrible stat to use to evaluate a player. Heck, look at Lance Berkman, he only has 49 runs scored and he's been on base 150+ times and driven himself in 24 times. I guess he doesn't know how to score runs. I didn't say Clark had power - I said it was down, but it's really the only thing that is down for him. I just don't get why Wynegar gets blamed for a 33 year old journeyman's loss of power.
  16. What about when Lee sucked last year for three months? Was that when he was stupidly listening to Wynegar, or something? Some of those guys (Fielder, Hall) are just in your basic slump that every hitter goes through. Hardy only had 130 or so AB's, and last year hit better when he wasn't afraid to strike out and tried to pull the ball. Jenkins had one of the best seasons of his career last year. Clark still has a .370 something OBP, his power is down. Moeller just sucks. It ain't Wynegar's fault. It's the hand he's dealt.
  17. I wasn't the only one saying negative things about this team. I know. I was/am, as well. It's just that that's all you do. Seriously. You post in IGT's about how the team sucks. This whole "I am speaking the truth" thing is a joke. Where do you get this "quest for mediocrity" thing from? They're every bit as much in the race as they were yesterday. That's the truth. What do you want them to do? Trade Weeks for Arthur Rhodes and Rheal Cormier? Man. If there's a trade that benefits the team, Melvin will make it. It's not like he's incompetent.
  18. Kolb was a fluke in his all-star year. You don't often experience much success when you have more saves than K's in a season. The small sample size of relief pitchers blurs reality. Look at Todd Jones. He had a 2.10 ERA last year - this year it's 5.66. And he was pretty legit last year. Basically, a lot of pitchers are capable of a dominant stretch of 40 innings.
  19. Come on, isn't some idiot going to say Davis doesn't know how to win and sucks? I love that bucksman posts not a once when the Brewers are in the lead, then immediately jumps in when they lose. Vintage.
  20. Three words: closer by c-------- (last word censored due to rash media reaction sure to follow if this path is taken).
  21. Provided he feels good, he should be ready to roll on Tuesday for the big team.
  22. I can't believe Paul LoDuca starts in MLB, let alone on an All-Star team. And, Carlos Beltran is the Mets MVP. He's having a flat-out amazing season. Factoring in defense, Wright's at least a win worse than Beltran (though he is a great player, just not as great all-around).
  23. Just a guess, but maybe what the announcer thought was a slider was the cutter he has supposedly been working on. If it moves like a slider, that's pretty cool.
  24. Moves that are about to be made: Brewers acquire Ben Sheets Brewers acquire Tomo Ohka Brewers acquire James Jerry Hardy Unbelievable how many fair-weather fans there are in the IGT's. People twist in the winds of a 162 game season. It's pointless. This is one game, they might win it yet. They're down two freaking runs. And, bucksman, aren't you the guy that uses the "no better than .500" mantra every day? Give it a rest. You think the team is bad. We get it.
