  1. Even with the roster disparity, I find Smackdown more enjoyable on a week-to-week basis than I do Raw. For the most part, they seem to tell cleaner stories on that show, maybe because Vince cares less about it. There are some aspects of it that I enjoy less, like that it is geared for a slightly younger audience, but it's a good show. As far as Khali, they kind of have to legitimize him some in order to put him in the Chamber title match, even though they seem to care little about wins and losses, he needs a little shine to him. Now, whether that means pinning the IC champ who is really getting some great momentum, as well as one of the few heels in the company who has a little credibility, is another story. If they start giving him pins in the Chamber match, then that's an issue.
  2. Are there other guys in the league aside from Jeremy Lin?
  3. Ziggler should enter the match as a shoot.
  4. My avatar disappeared, as well.
  5. I think both sets of comments are useless, anyhow. Anyone could say he "might be found innocent" or "might be found not guilty".
  6. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/137973623.html Patrick clarifies Braun comments By Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel National sports commentator/broadcaster Dan Patrick did some backtracking on his radio show Tuesday morning regarding comments he made Monday. On Monday, Patrick said after talking to "somebody involved in the process" that Braun could be "exonerated" and "may be an innocent man" after appealing a reported positive drug test Thursday and Friday before a three-man arbitration panel. On Tuesday, Patrick reworded his comments about the situation in an interesting way. "I want to clarify something I said about Ryan Braun yesterday," said Patrick. "What I should have said is he could be found not guilty. "I said (Monday) that Ryan Braun could be, COULD BE, found innocent. The test could be thrown out. I'm getting bits and pieces of what's going on behind the scenes. We've been waiting for information on this. "If they throw out the test, now this is IF, he could be found not guilty, not innocent. Maybe it's semantics, but I want to correct myself with that. I think there's a little bit more to the story here. "Once again, he could be found not guilty, not necessarily innocent." Interesting change in words, isn't it? Patrick decided to switch from "innocent" to "not guilty" in referring to Braun's drug test and subsequent appeal hearing. Sounds as if he might have heard from somebody in the MLB heirarchy after his Monday comments, doesn't it? What is the difference between "innocent" and "not guilty," you might ask? Well, Braun could have unknowingly taken a banned substance that triggered a positive test. Thus, he would be innocent of intentional wrong-doing but guilty of having a banned substance in his system. MLB's drug policy has a "strict liability" mandate in which players are not absolved of a positive drug test merely for taking a banned substance unknowingly. Patrick also made reference to not hearing the appeal result before the Super Bowl (on Feb. 5), but I'm not sure how he could know the time frame. The arbitration panel has 25 days from the end of the two-day hearing last week but could announce its finding any time before that. This is the problem when a supposed confidential process doesn't remain confidential. Too many things have been leaked to too many people, with anyone's guess as to the legitimacy of the information. It's too bad this is the way it played out, but you can't put the genie back in the bottle now.
  7. It's in the thread, isn't it? He re-worded his statement the next day, or soon after.
  8. I would say that people definitely care about Henry. He was pretty much the MVP of the second half of last year, especially on Smackdown.
  9. JTG is a definite future endeavored guy after Mania.
  10. TNA deserves some credit for what they did with the Samoa Joe/Magnus tag team. They have been my favorite part of Impact every week, aside from Austin Aries. It was very random at first, but their chemistry has been excellent, and whomever is running creative made the right call to put the belts on them on Sunday night. They even do actual tag team moves, which pretty much don't happen anymore. Not to mention that eventually they can split them and hopefully have a really solid feud between the two with Joe helping to get some solid matches out of Magnus. There's no reason WWE can't throw some random teams of under-utilized guys together and see what sticks. It was working well with the Air Boom thing.
  11. I think they can elevate Sheamus even without putting the title on him if they book it even steven and then have Orton have to cheat to win at the end in order to set up a longer feud between the two of them. If they do put the belt on him, I won't complain, because I think Orton is over enough that it wouldn't hurt him, and I think it helps Sheamus far more to beat a guy that is actually over than it would if he were to beat Bryan. I think Bryan has been practically booked to not get over, and in general I think putting a world title on someone to try to get them over is backwards booking, as opposed to having the guy get over and then giving him the belt to cement his status as a star. I think Sheamus is on the cusp.
  12. I really hate what they are doing to Ziggler. It seems like he got hot at the wrong time and they didn't want to change the Mania plans to account for that, so they are burying him. So backwards. He was getting over organically and picking up steam consistently, without being shoved down peoples' throats. Then last night, he gets the total jobber treatment of being "currently in the ring" guy coming back from commercial. He got next to no offense in, aside from the sit-up spot, and then jobs clean. Ludicrous. I liked some aspects of the HHH/Michaels segment, but I hated that it was 20 minutes long when they could have told that story in 10 (or less), and allowed for some time to have some wrestling on the show. The reason new guys don't get over is that they aren't allowed to display their talents on TV like they should be. The Kane/Cena stuff was awful as usual, but it did have the laugh out loud moment of Ryder being pushed off the stage. As far as Cena/Rock, I don't see Rock winning that match, and I don't think he should. I think Ryder goes back to Superstars mode shortly, that's a dead-end character that doesn't work as an upper-card guy, and he's been booked as a dolt. Primarily they seemed to be using him to try to boost Cena prior to last night. I think a Ryder heel turn makes the most sense, because he has zero edge at all at this point and the gimmick is pretty lame. The heel turn that I want to see soon is Randy Orton, with him winning the Chamber match by using heelish tactics. I think it's time to try to make Sheamus the top babyface on Smackdown, and with him winning the Rumble, this is the best chance they are going to have. Doing heel Orton vs babyface Sheamus at Mania is something that can really help elevate him. Not that I am a big time fan of Sheamus, but I want to see them actually PUSH someone and he's the logical choice. As far as Orton, everything about him is best suited as a heel. His offense, his selling, everything. And he didn't bring in 20% of WWE's money last year like Cena did, so he should be able to be turned. The Viper gimmick sucks and he should just be a badass heel.
  13. Yeah, those should be the three main threats to win on Sunday. Ziggler is getting hosed lately, though.
  14. If Ziggler jobs to Truth tonight, I am going to break some stuff.
  15. I haven't watched any live sports on my Roku, just Netflix. I love it for that, though.
  16. Well, Bill Michaels was as dead-on as you would expect Bill Michaels to be.
  17. Yeah, Wolff gave him a piece of the team at the time of his last extension. It was very small, though. Anyhow, this is awesome news.
  18. He was actually hired there during the summer to do the Ring-Ka-King show. I think the details are all still sort of murky.
  19. I thought Impact this week was better than Raw, even with Sting tapping out the world champ for some reason.
  20. Is it possible to display more posts/page on here? I used to love back in the day being able to see every post in a thread on one page.
  21. Sounds like Vince Russo is done with TNA and Dave Lagana is taking over creative. Awesome. #iwantwrestling
  22. I'm done arguing about this adderall abuser now. On the bright side, there are plenty of amphetamine abusers in the hall of fame, and certainly loads and loads of them still playing. They just get a mark doctor to diagnose them with ADD and get a TUE.
  23. Probably just a joke story from Branyan and Hall going there.
  24. Good for him. I think he'll be hitting some bombs in YS III this year.
