  1. I kind of missed the IGT last night. It was so nice to see Jenkins have that great game, even though I distinctly remember being told that he doesn't do anything unless the team is out of it and how they needed a LF to replace him. For a performance that excellent to come on deadline day was even sweeter. Oh, and I'm in the same boat as the guy on the first page - in bed at 1:00 and up at 4:30. I almost fell asleep on my feet today.
  2. It's weird. Who are some of these people? We can post YouTube videos, now? Total mindblower.
  3. The Rangers may be in the position to want to just get anything for Gagne, so they'll trade him for whatever they think is the best they can get.
  4. The Brewers are going to be drafting for an hour straight next June if they acquire all these guys. If that's all it would take to get Byrnes, I wouldn't complain.
  5. There's no way the Dodgers offered that for Blanton. Ned Coletti is stupid, but I don't think he's that stupid. Don't believe the hype. Just like the Pie rumors, these are bogus.
  6. Tell them that Cole Hamels pwns them. Then wait for them to say the same about the Brewers in four days, but still, you can say it for four days!
  7. Great. Thanks, Hawing. So I may have to login as brettac1@brewerfandemonium, Casey?
  8. I wouldn't mind a little four game winning streak paired with the opposite from Chicago. Wouldn't mind that at all. Great thing is, that could easily happen. It's actually probably due to happen.
  9. Wowzers. That wasn't in the Yahoo story.
  10. What is the process of seeing which e-mail address your profile is connected to?
  11. Well, of course he did. Dude is the man.
  12. Why no mention of the immortal Mark Sweeney climbing the all-time pinch hits charts? Just 61 more, Mark!
  13. Now Hendry has said that Pie isn't/wasn't available and was never discussed. blogs.chicagosports.chica...ix-pi.html
  14. Ratliff is obviously just to balance out the salaries, I don't see him being around there very long.
  15. I think he was just posting his vent.
  16. You have to hope that there aren't many suitors and they get pressed into feeling they have to deal him. The Yankees have said they won't deal Hughes, Kennedy, or Chamberlain, which the Rangers would obviously want. But I'd bet they would trade Al Horne, who is a pretty decent prospect himself. Whether the Brewers have anyone they want to part with that is better is up to them, I guess. And if he wants to close, he should be the closer. I'd rather have him in the 9th than Cordero.
  17. sports.yahoo.com/nba/news...&type=lgns Celtics get: KG T'Wolves get: Al Jefferson Sebastian Telfair Gerald Green Theo Ratliff Draft pick Pretty decent haul for the T'Wolves considering they traded him so late. Jefferson's (22) already a solid player, Telfair (22) and Green (21) (especially) have a lot of potential.
  18. It's hard for him to drive in a run when for the most part he hits behind Estrada (who has a .301 OBP, and compounding that problem is requiring two hits to be scored) and Jenkins, who has been struggling to get on. EDIT: And this isn't arguing the fact that Weeks has been dreadful for quite a while.
  19. While his defense isn't amazing, the fact that he can't get on base is a much more pressing concern than his inability to save a few singles here and there. He's costing the team many more runs with his bat than with his glove right now.
  20. True offensive genius. R.I.P.
  21. They just haven't put it all together yet, and maybe they won't this year. If experience didn't matter players wouldn't get better over time... it's not as if their talent level somehow grows over time. And if experience was really, really important, the Giants wouldn't be the worst team in the NL. As far as I'm concerned all the players in MLB have to be extremely confident to begin with, so they're on a level playing field there. Talent is what seperates gritty guys from players who are actually good.
  22. Players were using juice in the '70's. That's the earliest I have heard.
  23. Character absolutely wins baseball games... what could be more important than confidence? It's the single most important aspect of sports, if you aren't confident, you won't win much. Man, I wish I knew where all the character they had in April went. Maybe they overdosed?
  24. Then I guess I'm venting on people who are trying to judge the "character" of a collection of baseball players. Character doesn't win baseball games, I'm sorry. I guess if people are expecting some kind of flurry of activity because they lost a road series are going to be disappointed. Likely that's what they want, so they can then complain about how they didn't do anything.
