  1. Win it for me. I have been going to games since 1982 when I was four. I have followed them since then. I grew to believe that playoff baseball was not possible in Milwaukee. Win so that I can erase all those bad memories from the 90's and early 2000's out of my mind.
  2. I am not much for charging the mount but I think that it needs to happen. Macha tried to take the high road and let the MLB take care of the problem with his players getting plucked, but in the end MLB doesn't want to protect its players by not suspending that pitcher from Atlanta. Plucking players usually just leads to plucking players again. I want to see Fielder or Weeks go after the pitcher. I think that would probably stop the problem first.
  3. It won't be the same without Uke. Get well soon. Davey Nelson seems kind of scary. Hopefully those who said he wasn't too bad in Chicago are right.
  4. I kind of feel bad for Soup the person. He was booed pretty harshly last night. Of course I don't feel too bad that he can go home and cuddle with his $12 million to make himself feel better. Now Soup the pitcher I have no use for. When he is on the mound I have no confidence that we will win unless it is a homerun contest type of game. We can win those but I would prefer not to. I as a fan have no confidence, so I would have to believe the team doesn't have any either. That makes for a difficult day at the ball yard. I wouldn't let Soup pitch on my beer league softball team, so I would have to say that I don't want to give him anymore starts.
  5. Every time I go to a game in April I am thankful of the roof on MP. I also remeber the April games in April at County stadium. I also remember flurries on opening day freezing. I also sat through a game that was delayed because of fog. No fun. I went to a couple games in Cincinnati last year and sat through a 3 hour rain delay just because we drove that whole way. If that was in Milwaukee I leave as soon as the rain started. I'll take MP anyday.
  6. Uecker's Play by Play has never been the best. He has slipped. Sometimes you don't know what is going on while he is telling his stories. At the same time I really enjoy listening to him. As someone said earlier, he is a connection to my youth. I have listened to him since I was 9 years old. As long as he can tell me the score, I am satisfied.
  7. I was actually thinking this the other day. I still don't mind the trade. I was a Brewers fan that was too young to enjoy 1982 but old enough to suffer through 21 years of never making the playoffs. I enjoyed the last week of that season so much that it was well worth it. People were worried that LaPorta would go onto a great career. He doesn't seem to be a blue chip player like Braun and Fielder.
  8. I consider myself a bitter Brewers fan. They haven't been to the playoffs since I was 4 years old. I've seen so many disappointments over the years. I remember the 87 team that blew a 13-0 start, the 92 team that didn't quite catch Toronto. Paul Molitor being "just a D.H.", The entire rest of the 90's, Big Blue, and so on and so on. I expect them to lose out on the playoffs. I am pessimistic that they will make it, but at the same time I will be watching them tomorrow. I have begun to watch the Brewers like I watch the Packers. Yelling and screaming at the T.V. If they make the playoffs I will be extremely excited.
  9. I have booed at Brewers games. I only have booed bad baseball. I hate when the Brewers don't play fundamental baseball. I haven't booed a player before he played, but I wouldn't stop someone from doing it. I believe the next homestand will be depressing. I went to the second to last game last year. when I bought the ticket, I hoped the Brewers would still be in it. They weren't. I ended up seeing about 3 pitches the whole game because I couldn't stand not playing for anything. I left after 4 innings. I would expect that this year. Of course the Cubs seris will just plain be embarrassing. Can you imagine Lambeau Field being filled with 90% Bears fans?
  10. I will probably watch some games. Mostly because my wife makes me watch. That 4 game sweep by Philly broke my back. Watching the Brewers righy now is painful. Watching the Brewers now is kind of like that scene in Animal House where people are joining the evil frat house, sorry kind think of the name, and after they get hit with the paddle they say, "Thank You Sir, May I have another". So will I watch yes, a little. Will I enjoy it? All I can say is "Thank You Sir, Can I Have Another"
  11. They seemed to play pretty loose in Philly. I mean the first two games of the seris they hit .100 with RISP. That is pretty impressive. I mean my softbal team has done that except that was with us spending 2 hours at the bar before the game.
  12. The Brewers need to balance their offense next year. They have too many free swinging guys on their team. If they could add someone who could hit consistent and have a decent OPS, that is wha they should look for at 2nd base. As someone said above, a M. Loretta type would be awesome. Who that person is, I don't really know. Rickies D really isn't all that good either, so it would be nice to replace him there as well.
  13. At least the Dodgers can be as dumb as well
  14. Up in the zone doesn't mean at the knees
  15. Will it be Torres in the 10th?
  16. How's that shoulder shrug not a balk?
  17. Isn't J.J. our best infield defender?
  18. How about we walk in the winning run
  19. In the end this probably won't be a big deal, since no one was hurt, but it is embarassing. Fielder needs to control himself more, especially when it comes to attacking teamates. I like Fielder, even though he won't be a Brewer long term, but this is dissappointing. I follow two teams closely, the Brewers and Packers. The main story with the Brewers is this fight and the Packers have Farve. Ahhhhhhh.
  20. This has to be similar to that homestand in 1979. I was so excited to watch the Cubs and Brewers this week. I got together with friends to watch the first two games. It seemed that it would be a lot of fun. Then they got it handed to them 3 out the 4 games. This has to be the worst in 25 years for several reasons. One is that they lost 4 games to the Cubs. With all the Cubs fans up here that is especially embarrassing. Second, we had a ton of momentum going after the All-star break. That is now gone. Third, when was the last time we sold out a home stand? Fourth, it really made some of the Brewers weaknesses stick out such as Defense and timely hitting. lastly, because of how poorly the Brewers played I actually had to pay attention to the Packers and their Brett Farve problem. I really wanted to ignore that until it was settled. Still hoping for a playoff berth for the first time since I was 4 years old.
  21. This is just some emotional venting, but here it goes. I can't believe Braun had 3 errors in one game. He hits for avg., power, drives in runs, but can't play the field. Maybe I'll ask him to play on my bar league softball team. Fielder is not this years MVP. He may be in the future, but that ball he swung at on 3-1 just sucked. An MVP needs to get a hit in that situation. How fantastic that Thatcher pitched last night. Seeing how well he did really made that Linkbrink trade worth it. Did Melvin ever see Thatcher pitch or is Thatcher pitching out of his #@$? Was it the Brewers who landed in Milwaukee at 6 am after flying in from San Fran.? Maybe the Brewers should ask what kind of energy drinks the Fathers are drinking to get a supply of their own. I think Cordero should pitch the 7th, they can't get to him in the 9th anyway. Someone should tell the bullpen it is o.k. not to give up runs. STOP complaining about the booing. You are choking. I suggest that all the fans leave in the 5th inning instead, or maybe after the sausage race, at least someone wins that. I suggest that after one of bullpen members are getting pulled after giving up runs, everyone behind the home dugout turn their back on the player. How about that. At least the Brewers would have something else to complain about. I appologize about he rant. I am a lifelong Brewers fan and they have not been in the playoffs since I was 4. This year started promising and ended in disappointment.
  22. I am hoping they just leave Matt Wise in Texas.
