  1. Argentina Chile was very fun to watch last night. Seemed like the ref really wanted to be a star early on but swallowed his whistle in the second half. Great entertainment.
  2. Do squirrels eat tomatoes? Will a fence around the garden even keep them out? Something is eating my tomatoes and not touching anything else. It's something with teeth - because I can see the bite mark - about an inch wide. I have to get this fixed asap!
  3. Yes the USGA really screwed that up. What a joke. Can't even imagine if that actually came in to play for the trophy. Glad DJ won - cool to see.
  4. Bucks are shopping Greg Monroe hard right now, is the word on the street.
  5. Pretty crazy, right!?! I'm very much a rookie in my soccer viewing, but I did enjoy watching this weekend. I was doing a good job of catching matches a few years back but have been slacking the last two. Was nice to get back to viewing. Watched Germany vs Ukraine and Poland vs NI.
  6. I don't think there is anyway they do something to try and win this year. Maybe they hold out on trading Lucroy because they don't get the offer they are looking for, but I don't think they hold him because they are playing well. I hope they keep playing well, but wins and losses don't matter too much to me.
  7. Such a great song and such a great line! It's the middle of the night and you just inspired me to listen to that song.
  8. As an earlier poster said, this thread is entertaining. I look forward to the future to see how these guys turn out. I wonder what the % is of pitchers in the first 3 rounds that make an impact at the major league level is compared to hitters? Maybe he's got some numbers that tell him to not take risks on pitching early. Take chances on some pitchers late because they are so tough to predict. Or these were just the 3 highest guys on his board and we are over thinking it all!
  9. What are my options for creating a hot spot at a cabin with no internet? I think some cell service will work but others could be spotty.
  10. I second waiting for sales. Also, there are certain cuts that have less of a learning curve I would say. Start with those. To me, and I could be wrong, but pulled pork seems to be the easiest. You can season it pretty neutral too and then use it for different meals. We did tacos one night with it and the next added a little more seasoning and put it on a bun with some bbq sauce and it was amazing both ways. Anyone have thoughts on smoking multiple racks of ribs? Should I just get a rib rack or can you do a little overlapping? Thanks! Sidenote, I love how this thread has taken off. Could get locked in a few days. I could see a fight breaking out over which type of wood to use on pork tongue..... or something like that.
  11. This thread makes me happy. I'm actually doing ribs this weekend. First time they turned out so good, so hoping for similar results.
  12. How do you smoke at 150? Isn't that flirting with the "danger zone?" Also, don't most meats require a higher internal temp than 150? Just curious, not judging! I just jumped in to the smoking world and got the green egg. I'm really enjoying it so far. The nice thing with the egg is once the temp is where you want it, you rarely have to touch anything. Very hands off. Had great luck with ribs and pork butt and pork tenderloin (half grilled half smoked). Chicken came out bitter (too much smoke I think) and had awesome flavor on a brisket but had some bad texture issues. I think I had the wrong part of the brisket for the way I was cooking it (big end) and didn't trim any fat off. I always get nervous with my first bite. It's a huge bummer when you spend a day smoking and it doesn't taste right!
  13. Ok, I know there was some discussion going on about Sling TV, but now I'm not even sure where that was! I thought I'd start a thread for people thinking about cutting cords. It seems like it's pretty realistic now to cut cords. My biggest concern was always sporting events. Anyone who has done this, what events are hard to get legally? Can you pay for NFL network, which would get you Thurs night games? Are there any talks of Sunday Ticket streaming options?
  14. That's intense! I wouldn't tell them....but if you do, please record it. I would like to see the look on their faces.
  15. This last week was a fun week of baseball. We may not have won as many games as I thought we could/should have, but they were good games. Pitching has really picked it up as of late. We really should have scored some more runs, but I think we will lack in that department most of the year. Anyway, fun week, hope it continues.
  16. Not sure this has been discussed here but is he overweight right now?
  17. Man, that loss hurt. I haven't really cared too much about losses this year, but that one was different. Great entertaining game, which is all I really want out of the Brewers this year, so I'll take it. Just wish they could have won!
  18. Awesome! Good luck on the inspection. Remember, finding an issue isn't always a bad thing. A lot of times it will lead to you being able to get something fixed and or new.
  19. Well that was entertaining. Bummer and got a little dicey in the 9th, but still a solid win. I was in total non jinx mode. Had the game on the laptop on mute and wouldn't even mention to my wife what was happening. Was hoping she'd notice.
  20. I sometimes lay on the horn when I see a bad texting incident. It really fires me up! They usually jump and swerve, thinking they are about to hit something. Which they probably will at some point. I can't believe how clueless some people are.
  21. Good luck and keep us posted!
  22. I have to make calls for work sometimes on the run. I try not to that much, but sometimes I need to. I also like to make calls in my car because I'm very busy and that's when I can knock off things like scheduling a doctor's appointment or scheduling something for the house. I do not text and drive and try to use siri for just about everything so I don't even have to look at my phone.
  23. Well they were knocking on the door all night and couldn't close it out. Entertaining game. I try not to get frustrated with some of the mistakes. I wasn't mad at Villar but if you try to take 3rd you better make it. He appeared to but either way he was out. It did almost seem like it was a hit and run. Maybe CC thought he had to gamble there and that Scooter would get a strike.
  24. Boy I'm not sure there is as much scripting going on with this show. I do think some parents and coaches maybe act up more than they usually would because they know they are on tv, but it doesn't have that scripted feel. Like, hey today we all decided to rub honey on our bodies and run through bear infested woods and see what kind of crazy things might happen. By the way, I hate that type of reality TV. They really just show practice and games and a little in between. When you have crazy TX/PA football parents, you get enough action to film. MrTPlush - I agree on reality TV being a slippery slope. We use to watch a fair amount of "scripted" reality tv and then one day said, this is not doing us any good, so we dropped them all. The only other reality TV we watch is Deadliest Catch. Which again, I'd say is on the lower end of being scripted. There is enough crazy action out there that they don't need to make a bunch of fake storylines. I know they still do at times (putting random greenhorns out there to fail, things like that), but it seems like you're mainly watching real footage for the most part.
