  1. As I stated earlier, I'm having a hard time believing him at all, even though in my heart, that's what I want to do. I want to try and hold off on judgement, see what all comes out. But many people on ESPN radio made this statement, "If you were going to use someone as an expert wittness, the last place you'd go is to some sleezy dude selling drugs out of a back office, you'd consult a professional doctor." I know you can spin this but it sounds like this guy has a terrible reputation and therefore would be a horrible expert wittness. Ya he has experience with these drugs but you wouldn't grab a dope dealer to put in your corner if you were on trial and needed a wittness to talk about the effect of high levels of THC in your system.
  2. Ya I guess I'm just saying, non of us know. So we shouldn't be throwing out blind statements that he did or didn't do it and get upset about it.
  3. I have no clue what PED's cost, but I would not be surprised if 30k wouldn't go too far when it comes to high end designer stuff. Stuff that's not sold to an old grandpa down the block. And you would never use a credit card or a check to purchase stuff like that, you'd use cash. You would keep a tab so that you aren't taking out 30k of cash randomly. You would pay over time I'm sure.
  4. I think as Brewer fans we do have to be careful how we blindly back our heros. As OWBC said, you could be digging yourself a big hole. This is now two big signs of smoke around Braun. Where there is smoke there is fire. I don't care what people say on here but when a Brewer fan is out in the public talking to non Brewer fans. you can quickly look like a big jerk. I think we need to hear the details and see what happens but I'd warn against blindly buying in to what he's saying, you could end up dissapointed. At this point, I really don't care about any of this, as long as he's not suspended. I think MLB will come after him hard because they wanted him in 2011 and he got out on a technical loop hole. I hope it is all nothing, but you all have to admit it looks horrible.
  5. I think my ideal uniform now would be based off this uniform. The off white (like the giants) with that blue and then more of a mustard yellow (not bright, not metalic). Not totally sold on the lettering but something like that maybe, barrel man on the sleeve and then the ball and glove logo on the hat. I think that would be super sharp!!
  6. Boy the bench does look really nice now Yoshii! Love the signing. Hope RRR can stick out the young guy when he struggles but this is a great guy to have to rest him up. Can Gonzo play 3b, 2b?
  7. As of last year you could still only do that on the PC. Man I really love that feature and hope they wise up and get that going on apple tv too! My question off that is, can you do that on the iPad?
  8. I think it all depends on how you like it done. I think the more husk you leave on the juicier it is, but then it doesn't get as much smoke flavor or burn on the corn. I like a little burn on the corn to give it flavor. Too much and it will dry out. I tend to keep a lot of husk on because it will burn off as you cook. I guess I don't follow any specific directions, you can just tell when it's close to how you like and then pull it off! I always soak mine first, probably 30-60 min, but I never time it out.
  9. I LOVE mlb.tv! I use the apple tv as my main way of watching games (it's only $99 I believe). I also used it a lot on my iPhone and that was great too. Not to mention you can pull up the audio in the car, it's like being back in WI! I'm a huge van of this and as long as you have quality internet, it's a great option.
  10. I like what they are doing. I think we need to opperate more like this. Rely on young guys and keep the payroll down and when you are in a situation to win, make short term moves that don't hurt the future, to help boost that. I'm sometimes torn between always being competitive or going for it, then having to rebuild. I think I like steady but I don't think I'd change what we did a few years back, going for more. It was an amazing run.
  11. I too love the ball and glove logo. I mean it's so great! I honestly think they should be going back to it in some way. I feel like it's such a classic. We can change colors or whatever but the new trend is to go back to the old and I think we should try to get out ahead a little on that. We might be too late. What would be awesome is if we went back to the late 90's uniform!!!!.......ok maybe not!! Ha.
  12. I will have to wait to until I see them for a few games during the year but I really don't love them. They just seem like they don't fit the "major league" look. Seem a little cheap looking to me, like a softball league type of jersey......but they may grow on me.
  13. Holy crap, has Gamel matured. That is easily the best interview I've ever heard him give. Also, "There's a raccoon chasing me right now." Great way to end the interview. Yes can we talk about that more!!! "there's a racoon chasing me right now!" bwahahahahahaha! That was hilarious! He does seem very mature, that's great to see!
  14. I don't think I'd ever post on other teams boards, but thanks for the heads up. In this down time part of the year, I like to check out what other fans are talking about. Thanks for the site!
  15. I know other message boards get quoted on here or mentioned so I thought I'd ask, what other team's message boards are good ones to check out from time to time? There are so many out there but not too many are as active as bf.net. If you know of some high quality ones, I'd love to know.
  16. I think Roger Dorn is looking at making a come back too, sign em up!!!
  17. Ya, I just can't see him make a transition. The only good things I see at 3b is that when a guy has to make longer throws he has to let it rip. That can sometimes help a guy out with throwing issues because he's not doing any finesse throws. I also do think he's better on hard hit balls as to slow rollers which he would probably get more of at 3b. That all being said, I think change is not a good thing for him so I just don't think it's worth the risk. Keep him where he's comfortable.
  18. Do you guys think Rickie gets moved off 2b while in a Brewers uniform? My buddy and I were discussing because of rumors of that in the past and the projections that came out as him being our 3b. I know that was because they don't assume FA signings but I was curious if others think he might be moving positions in the near future.
  19. Ya this is a contract year. You don't delay a surgery so you miss ALL of spring training. That is a very bold statement. It's one thing if he has a tight hamstring and needs to sit a week out every year, but we are talking surgeries. Big difference. I was initially bummed about this but now I'm looki g at it as a positive. Get Gamel some playing time, get Hart back, hope he plays well, then trade him. I think he's an old 30 and if we can get anything half way descent for him we should pull the trigger. Hate to see him go but I think we need to avoid any deals with him.
  20. Good stuff. Congrats to him, hope he has a great year.
  21. That is pretty bad that they really aren't talking about that at all. On a lighter note, Florence Freedom (KY), (near Cincinnati where I am) independent league baseball team is doing a Manti Te'o's girlfriend bobble head night. They are giving away empty boxes. AMAZING! Haha
  22. JimH5 - I've been told that exact advice. It's very important to find that me time. I think when the baby is new, all bets are off (coming from the guy with no experience ). Something that has stuck with me, from my aunt, "it's not about you anymore, it's not about you." She said that several times to me and it makes sense. I take it as kid has to come first, but when there is a sliver of time, make sure you give your self the opportunity to be you. Good stuff.
  23. Yep, Boras. He would have been a great example of a guy to get and extend a couple years cheap if he had a different agent. I think there is 1% chance they can even get close on something. I wouldn't mind using him as a trade piece for some more prospects. I'm cool with a youth movement right now.
  24. I really don't know what the answer is for the WBC. I mean, I think it's a great idea in theory, but it just makes me nervous. What if they did it for guys that weren't invited to big league camp? Would it still be fun? I think I'd enjoy our young guys playing and if someone got hurt, it wouldn't sting quite as bad. I guess I try to look at it like this with our major leaguers playing, they could just as easily get hurt playing in a spring game. I try not to blame the WBC on it, but it's hard to swallow.
  25. Brewtank- wow great post. That is awesome. So much honesty and so much knowledge. Thank you! Congrats on the little one too. Thanks again everyone for all the great posts. Seriously soaking it all in!
