  1. Does anyone know where you can find stats on this for the Brewers this year? I'm just curious what the numbers are. Whether or not it's the right move or wrong move at times, it seems to be pretty tough to stop.
  2. Team is just playing some good ball. Kind of amazing.
  3. This being an "appropriate move" is well said. I enjoyed having him on the staff and wish him the best. Seems like a good dude and came in and did what we needed him to do for a few years.
  4. Thanks for the advice guys! Pitchleague - I hear that from everyone that does auction, they will never go back to snake. I am worried about trying to bid guys up. I want to do that but I think I will try to be very conservative with it. I made a spreadsheet to track what guys are doing, I hope I can keep up with it so I can try to figure out what guys are doing. Menotti - I had heard that strategy and think I will do that. We play with a LB, DB, DL as well and was thinking I might be able to get those guys out early for cheap as well. I just don't know if people will spend money on them or will keep it under $3.... Do you guys suggest being rigid on prices or being flexible and adjusting prices on the fly?
  5. Man, my first thought was NOoooo! Then my second thought was, it's probably the right time. I totally agree that the show has gone down hill as of late. I think Michael was the guy who made everyone shine. When he is the main character, it lets all the others be secondary main characters, and that's where they were best. Even with the show going down hill, I still loved watching it. It was like a comfort food, it just made me feel good. Even if I didn't laugh much it was still fun for me to watch. In the past, this show has made me laugh harder than any other show I can remember. I'm not saying it was the best, but it sure made me laugh out loud and slap my knee in a room by myself. I will miss it and I know I'll be watching old episodes for years to come.
  6. Caught the 2nd half of the game and it was a nice little win. Do you think RRR was being a slave to the stats or trying to get Axford's confidence up (I believe that was mentioned on tv)?
  7. Not sure if we can talk about this on here or if it needs to be on the Packers site. So I'm new to the auction thing (I've been trying to get our league this way for awhile now). Any words of advice on how to go in to this thing?
  8. I like the kids fire, hustle, speed, defense. I think he's on a hot streak, which maybe he'll go on more often. But it really doesn't change my expectations for how he'll hit. Maybe a slight bump in overall batting stats but he is who he is. I like him for that and always see value in him. Just not sure what the correct pay is for that. I want him on the team, would love to see him in a starting role this year, but don't think he's a guy we should over spend on. He's the perfect 3rd/4th outfielder.
  9. Thanks for all the advice, we had a great trip. We went to the bar inside the green monster and watched the Yanks Sox game (at NY) and the opening of the Olympics. That was a cool seat looking right in to Fenway. Did the Freedom Trail and just walked, ate, and had a few drinks as we went through Boston. We hit up James Hook Co. for a lobster roll and another great spot is the Barking Crab (right across the water from James Hook. Great food and cool atmosphere. It's like a shack on the water. (at night they have live music). North End was a blast, we spent quite a bit of time there. Again, thanks for all the advice, it was much appreciated.
  10. Man this site is so great. You seriously can figure out just about anything here. It may get a little heated at times but for the most part you can get pretty good conversations on just about anything. Good stuff.
  11. I really can't get enough of the Olympics. It's funny that I find myself getting in to sports I know nothing about or normally would never watch.
  12. Finally got on here to express my happiness with this trade. As soon as we got ZG and Marcum I was very happy because I thought it would give us an opportunity to contend and then an opportunity to replenish our farm system. It's too bad Marcum was injured this year because he could have gotten something back for us. These days, pitching really does make the world turn. Hopefully we can start developing more with this group coming through, make a few runs, and then trade them off when the time comes. I really think it's the way to go.
  13. I just really hope we can inject some solid prospects in to the organization here soon.
  14. Heading out this weekend so I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks again everyone for the tips.
  15. Good showing by the NL and Braun. I too thought Jeter was pretty upset Prince didn't scoop that. It looked like an easier one. I did not however see the lips, that's hilarious!
  16. Ya I'm far from saying we should be buyers. Good win tonight, pretty ugly, but let's not get too excited. If we had a healthy squad I'd be all for going for more, but doing it now really only gets us to above average, not anything special. I think it's time to replenish the farm system.
  17. Anyone know of a good irish pub or just a good Boston Sports bar near Fenway?
  18. I loved Directv when I had it a few years ago. Since moving I've been with Time Warner and I really don't like it. I tried to get DTV two weeks ago but the complex I live in (apartments/town homes) won't allow me to put a dish in the front. Because of that I can not get a signal from the back! Man I was not happy. I rarely had any issues with signal and like many have said, it would usually last for a min and then be fine. I did have one day where my wife and I were watching a big Badger game and we were in the middle of a snow storm. All the sudden the signal goes out. I decide to put a latter up to the 2nd story roof, grab a broom, and go to the second to last step just to barely be able to brush the heavy snow off of it (I was fully extended). My wife had to hold the ladder so it did not slip from our deck. It was very hairy but worth the reward, the signal came back on! I had to do it once more during the game and then decided if it went out again it was not worth the risk. I lucked out because the snow started to let up. Good times.
  19. I say he's a HOFer just because of the dance moves he put on the other day during a rain delay! Very good stuff! http://www.nesn.com/2012/06/omar-vizquel-busts-a-move-during-fenway-park-rain-delay-video.html
  20. I was at the game last night and man was it an electric crowd. Of course it was not a great place to be a Brewer fan! This team is pretty bad right now, we have to be major sellers. Gear up and get some young guys in that we can at least be excited about.
  21. That really describes how I have felt about this, if he really did take something. That it was maybe a gambling game he was playing and maybe took it a few times to get through a period of time where he was either weak or injured. I'm guessing there is some designer stuff out there that could give you a quick boost and maybe be out of your system. Anyway, looking at his numbers, unless he was taking them since day one, you really can't see any spikes. I don't think he could have taken them all along and not gotten caught. There just seems to be more to the story and that makes me feel a tad uneasy, that's all. He's probably better off not talking about it anymore and just saying, as you can see, my stats are the exact same and I'm obviously under the microscope, so you can see I was not taking anything. I will continue to be on his side and belive him but I have just a little something holding me back from being 100% sure when doing that.
  22. "ahhhh nice marmot" - the dude (Big Lebowski)
  23. I would say he definetly is making a serious case and I too always wanted to believe him. I hope this does make the cloud over him go away. Until we know exactly what happened though, I will always have a little doubt in the back of my mind. I wish I wouldn't, but if I got in an arguement with a non brewer fan about this, I would really have a tough time believing my side 100%.
