    Yep, one win is good but is this the type of "statement series" we need now? I mean we are getting closer to the end of the season and winning 2 of 3 on the road would really make a statement. I know it's not life or death but it's time to start making statements and winning tough series on the road right?

    Keep doing it Milwaukee. Really enjoying catching the results (even mlb audio for the game last night) while on vacation! Maybe for the sake of the team I should stay over here because they keep winning.

    Man I love that K Rod Axe combo! I really do believe that our pitching has to step up like this, for the stretch run here. Hopefully we can get a few more gloves in to help them out too. If the pitching can step up, I think we can get enough O from these guys to win. We just can't play this brutal on D and expect to only give up 2 runs.

    I just wanted to drop by and give some love to Gomez. I feel really bad for him. As a few of you have noted, Carlos has brought a tremendous passion to the game. No matter what was going on with his role, he was always the first guy to celebrate with teamates, was always hustling, and always smiling. I felt like his current role with the team was very valuable to us. So thanks Carlos! Man, that ball last night that he got to was unreal. I don't think any other guy in the league could have got to that. He just flew! It's so fun watching him cover ground like that with such ease. So do we have an official time table? I would have thought it would have been 4-6 weeks, unless it was a really bad break.

    Ya guys, I was thinking Charles Woodson in the super bowl, the way he got up. Man what an amazing play, I mean I don't think anyone else in the league gets to that.

    I don't think they should sell this year at all. Sure it would be nice to get something for Fielder but I really think we hav to let it all play out. I do however think they should be sellers after the year. I think they shold try to sign one of Marcum or ZG and trade the other. If they can't sign either, then they should be selling. Yes it will stink but I really think by trading quality pitching we can bring in a couple young pitchers and bats that will be ready in another year. Then we make another run at things for a couple more years.

    A lot of that is just media talk. They got to give a guy confidence through the media. If they had complete confidence and were "fooled" they wouldn't have traded for Morgan.

    It's so different. Just the foot work would take quite awhile to get down. You can't just flip like that. I know Yuni screws up some really basic plays and is not good at the dish right now but he also makes some pretty good plays. He's not killing us yet so just keep puting him out there. Hopefully they can get some one before the deadline that is a defensive guy and then can use a combo of the two. Even better would be to get a very solid guy to take over. Either way, I'm fine with him now and I have faith we will get someone in down the road. We really need Casey to get at least some what back on track.

    I was having a conversation with a friend last night and I said I think we will get a bullpen guy sooner than later. Sure enough. Many of you think the bullpen is not a pressing issue but I disagree. I think this trade can now form a pretty good bullpen. We have a true closer and setup man now (and a true backup closer). We can now move Hawkins and Saito to the 7th inning type guys and move Loe back to the middle. I think this sets up nicely. Our pen has been serviceable but now I believe our pen is pretty solid. I have faith that we will get a SS in and maybe even a bench player. My questions is, are there many SS's out there that we can go after that aren't blockbuster type deals? I know we could really use an improvement at SS but are there many guys out there that we could actually get that give us a significant boost at the position? That's why I think we went bullpen first because it was such a nice improvement.

    Ya I'm happy to see Gamel doing well. He doesn't need to be a super stud but if he can hit well, I'm all for him. Anyone know how his defense has been at first?

    Ya I like this setup. Agreed sliding Casey back makes sense but we have that debate every day. Really excited about Gamel in the lineup and hope he does well. Let's get this one!

    Gin.....man, I've heard of that but I just don't know if I can do it! I mean I drink one bloody a few times a week and just love them. Meal in a cup. And in the last few years have started to enjoy Gin and tonic or soda. Love Hendrick's Gin with a few slices of cucumber and Soda in the summer. Anyway, to get back on track, I'm worried I'll try it and dislike it and have to throw away a perfectly good bloody! Haha. I'll keep you posted if I try. Do you go cheap gin like you would go cheaper vodka in a bloody? Has anyone tried three olives tomato vodka for a bloody? I think it would be awesome but don't really have any earge to buy a high end vodka for a bloody mary.

    Ya Def a WI thing. My favorite cocktail of all time is a Bloody Mary. It must be made with clamato for me to really like it. If I have clamato, celary salt, and Tabbasco (of course vodka) I will be pleased. However if you add such things as olives pickles meat sticks, seasonings etc, you have yourself something special. V&M Bar (corner of hwy V & M of course) near Birchwood, WI serves up the best spread I've ever seen. Pickle, Olives, Pickled - green bean+asparagus+ mushroom, beef stick, celary, (I might be missing one or two more things) a hard boiled egg on the side and a huge beer chaser. Best part is I saw two guys come in and get four of them "to go." Amazing. A good dirty Martini with Bleu Cheese stuffed olives is pretty amazing as well.

    Ok, lets all calm down a bit.....I waited until today to write this so I could take a minute. It was a bad loss, a game we should have had. At first I was mad at the squeeze play, and maybe I'm still a bit confused. After looking at it more, you have a pitcher up who should be a very solid bunter and the count was 3-1 (to a pitcher mind you) so you know a fastball is coming down the middle. He just blew it. I guess with Rickie coming up next I'm still a bit upset, but again the scenario was perfect to be able to get down a bunt. As for Loe facing a lefty, I don't like it either but we should really blame Braun on that play. I know the wind was nasty but he could have easily caught that ball out there (he didn't play the lefty slice). That run could have been avoided by better D there. As for the lineup, what are you going to do. You can complain about Kotsay but he had a great game the day before. And Casey needs to be moved down but I think that RRR is just holding out as long as he can.

    Wow what an exciting game and exciting weekend series. It was a great sweep. Prince is on fire right now and it sure is fun to watch. Add: As for the Gomez thing, I don't think he tried to make the catch look more dramatic, I do think he added a bit of acting at the end. He might do that from time to time but I don't think he tries to make catches look better. If anything he makes them look easy with the range he has. He's a goofy cat, I just enjoy it!
